"Surprise." I said throwing my hands up. I had decided not to say who the father most likely was, seeing how it would qualify as a shooting range target. "Where Eli?"

i smiled wider."oh my god! we're probably going to have them around the same time! they can play together!' she asked about eli."shes back in the medical tent.we think we may have made a discovery,but we have to wait untill kaleb analyzes the data.come on,lets go see her."

I walk out of the tent and give Ember a warm smile.
"I've missed you." I tell her.
"So who should share their news first?"

"Ummm...Mine can wait about a week or two more before it bursts." I said with a proud smile. I was uber uncomfertable in this jacket, but it hid my huge tummy.

"then we can give our news! eli,can we tell her what we think we discovered?" i was acting like a child appealing to her oler sister,i knew,but i was so exited.kaleb put his hand on my shoulder to calm me.

"What's going on?" I asked at how excited Genemni was.

I laugh a little at Gemini's excitement before I turn to Ember.
"We think we might have found a possible cure, or at least a solution, to the infection. We think that there is something about my blood that nitrualizes bloodlust. And if it can do that, then with a little work it could get rid of the infection all together. We could become human again!" I almost squeal the last part.

"Really?" I asked with an excited smile. Suddenly I felt a gut renching feeling in my tummy. I doubled over and gripped my sides. "Crap." I groaned before I passed out.

Later that week, Cat had finally made her decision. She had decided that she couldn't stand being alone for much longer and that she wanted to find company. So she set out with her things to find someone who wouldn't kill her, someone with whom she could become friends.

i knelt next to ember."oh no.ohhhhhh crap.eli,quick! help me get her inside! i think she might be in labor! kaleb,get a bed ready,and get me a tub of hot water and several towels.eli,ill need you to hold her hand and talk her through it.make sure she breathes evenly.ember,just do as i say and you'll be fine,ok?" i got to wrok immidiately.the first thing was to find out if she really was about to give birth.kaleb ran off to do the things i asked of him.

I started to breath heavy. Tears filled her eyes, she wished someone she loved could be here with her while she gave birth. Her mind flashed to James, then to Felix, god only knew where both of them were.

He ran towards the compound. He knew Ember was in pain and He wanted to be there incase. He entered the compound and saw her being carried. "What happened?" He asked running up. He was wearing only tattered short, but he didn't care.

i barely looked up when the man appeared behind me."shes in labor.im going to deliver the baby.kaleb,i need that hot water! dont worry,hon,im here.my mum taught me how to do this when i was just a tiny thing.you'll be fine." i worked quickly,remembering the words my mother had spoken to me when she taught me how to be a healer.make sure shes comfortalbe,have someone hold her hand,and walk her through it keep talking to her through the proscess,and make sure she breathes and pushes at the right times.but above all,stay calm.if you are calm,the patient will be comforted,and the birth will go smoother.and remember your herbs,to help the pain. "kaleb,i need the herbs in my pack.now!" he got the small bag of herbs and handed it to me.i took out the right one,and gently put it into ember's mouth."there sweety,now chew on this,and give it a good hard bite when the pain gets bad,it will help,ok? good,now just breathe..."

Ember took the herbs and chewed on it then grabbed James hand. "James, you came." She moaned as she felt the baby trying to get out.

i did everything i had been taught.i was glad this man james had shown up.i sensed that he was the father.i also sensed that he was a lycan,but i wasnt about to mention that fact."easy now.ok,the baby is ready.one more push,sweetie,and we're done.come on,push hard! almost there,and...ah! there we go,ok,relax now,you're all done." i took the newborn baby and washed it in warm water with a towel.

Ember and her Baby Girl

Ember took her baby girl and smiled up at James. There she was, the thing that tore about a relationship, and created a new one. Something that shouldn't even exist. "Will she be infected?" She asked.

gemini handed over the baby girl."thats a good question.and if so,how? will she be a vampire,or...?" gemini mulled over this question as she cleaned up and set a blanket over ember."well,ember.congradulations.you did great.would you like to let the others see your baby,or would you like some time alone first? either way,she needs to be fed,and put to bed."

"What do I feed her? Milk or blood?" She asked holding the child lovingly.

When Ember goes into labor I could only turn and run away.
It wasn't fair that they could all be happy. There was no way that I could ever have a life with Ken. Not a normal one at least.

I knew that I had to find a cure, no matter what the costs. But I would have to find somebody who could actually do more than Kaleb could. Would the unit Ken had wanted to go to have scientists there?

I knew it would most likely be suicide but I would have to do it.

i thought."hm...try milk first,and if she doesnt take it,then try blood." i went and got an old bottle that i had kaleb prepare.there was one with milk and one with blood."here,give her this one first,see if she likes it.if not,we'll try the other one."

I Held the bottle over the babies mouth. It began to suck on it as if it was dead hungry. "Guess that answers that." James said smiling proudly.

i nodded."good,so we know what she eats.now,mother and child,to bed.you both need some sleep after that ordeal.we will find felix as soon as you guys are ready." i looked around."has anyone seen eli? i want to talk to her about something important..."

Ember nodded and closed her eyes already starting to fall asleep. James smiled and looked down at the baby.

i took the baby and put her in one of the smaller beds,making sure the bars were up."goodnight,sweetheart." i said to her.then i turned to the lycan named james."so,i take it you are the father? i hope you are more trustworthy a parent than most of your breed.you have already tricked ember once into thinking we didnt care about her.if you want to have contact with her or the child,you will cooperate and not try to take them away again." i spoke firmly.he seemed ok,but i wanted to make sure,foe ember's sake and the baby's.and felix's,too.

"I wish to be in this childs life, but I understand that Ember is engaged, or at least was before the infection." He said softly looking down at Ember's sleeping form. "I did lie to her, but only because I was foolish and thinking only of myself." He added looking back up at her.

i sighed."well,alright.i think we can work things out,if we ever manage to get felix back.but the two of you will have to come to terms.felix loves ember dearlyenough to nearly get himself killed when she went missing.and i suppose you love her,too.we'll have to work it out later.for now,please go and see sergeant hemora,and he will tell you where you can stay.im sure he'll let you stay,anyway." i turned and finished cleaning up the room."and if you see another female vamp like ember,a mutation,please tell her that gemini is looking for her."
