There is a regular at the pub I work at who looks so much like Bernard Cribbins (Donna's grandfather)! I always thought he looked like him (and he talks just like him too), and then some of the other regulars were calling him today and started jokingly calling him Bernard Cribbins. C:

I hope they bring him back, he's my favourite character of the new series.

this isn't BREAKING NEWS, but it hasn't been mentioned yet, so here: Catherine Tate joins The Office : News 2011 : Chortle : The UK Comedy Guide
I for one think it will be interesting. And I'm not really a fan of the american version.

Ooh, cool, I love Catherine Tate. I used to love the American Office, but it went downhill in season six. I trudged through to some part in season 7 before finally giving up. But I've been hearing that this most recent season has been a bit better? I'll watch the episode with Catherine, at least.

Re: Bernard Cribbins - I liked Wilfred too. It'd be cool if we saw him again, but what I really want is for them to invent some stupid loophole that allows Donna to remember stuff and come back because I LOVED DONNA. :gonk: And I hate Amy. Get rid of Amy, bring back Donna. Not all redheads are created equal. I don't even care if the loophole is stupid and nonsensical, I'll ignore it, I don't care, I want Donna.

Rhys Darby would be amazing in The Office but I would just want him to be Murray again. I haven't seen any of the American version though. ^^;

I would want to go up to Bernard Cribbins man and start singing Right Said Fred (not like I know the words or anything) but that would just be creepy and unpleasant for everyone involved.

There's a Doctor Who t-shirt at Qwertee for another day. I've bought it to wear as much as possible during my upcoming exams and revision!

Oh my grosh. Catherine Tate in The Office? That's gonna make my year.

You guys, the American version is fabulous. Especially Dwight Schrute. Maybe it's his quirky combination of Amish-raised beet farmer and nerdy scifi-enthusiast, that makes me love him so much more than his UK counterpart.

Yeah, I like Dwight more than Gareth too.

I like Garreth D:
I'm going to get my Seattle region membership card revoked for saying it, but I just prefer him.
I saw some of the episodes the other day because they were doing Office marathon instead of showing Community, and it was actually not bad. I think I may have even guffawed at one point. I think Cathrine would be great in the role of boss. I'd make a point to watch it.

Oh, I like Gareth too, I just like Dwight more. I liked the UK Office plenty, I just... like the US version (in its heyday) more. UK Office was funny, but more subtly so. Which was exactly the point. I appreciate it plenty, but US Office gets more laughs from me.

I rarely do, but The Office is one of the shows that can get a chuckle out of me. Scrubs, Mash and Boosh can, too. Boosh holds the prestigious title of being one of the few to make me laugh so hard that I cried.

If I ever get drunk while he's around I might just be tempted to ask him to sing it. I think he'd do it perfectly, though I don't know how happy he would be about it.. when the other guys called him Bernard it seemed like it was an old and tired joke already.

I have never seen more than a few minutes of The Office (UK version) and from that I know I wouldn't like it. Then, I don't watch much television in general, and comedy is always a bit.. difficult for me. It has to be pretty special for me to really like it.

It's funny how The Hobbit and The Office always seem to keep coming back up in this thread. Maybe it's because all things British keep coming back up in this thread. :XD

The Hobbit can be easily traced, though. It usually goes "Doctor Who --> Steven Moffat --> Sherlock --> Martin Freeman --> Bilbo"

The new Who series starts on the 23rd so it's a little less than a fortnight. The trailers have done a good job of boosting my excitement.

David Tennant is still being linked to The Hobbit too. Everything is connected. O_o

Hasn't all the casting been done, though? I believe they already started filming now. So if David Tennant had any part in it, I'd think we'd know. :/

Anyone remember "Figwit" from LotR? Yeah, he's got a part in The Hobbit now.......

I don't know, a lot of sites are still reporting actors from the LotR films will be reprising their roles but there's been no news on that. Either way I'm still looking forward to it.

Biggles posted a link a couple of pages back about Figwit. I wonder if they'll sneak Jemaine in as a dwarf or something. XD

Second from last post on page 199. ^^

Not like bringing it up again is a bad thing, of course.

Martin Freeman was in The Office (UK), so I think that's why that keeps coming up (except that's not why it came up this time at all ).

I'm excited for the new Doctor Who! Would be moreso if I liked Amy, but still. This will probably be the season where they dump her, at least. :eager:

I'm re-watching a lot more Doctor Who than usual (plus I watched Children of Earth again the other day), so I think I can say I'm excited for the new series to start. My poor partner is going to have to put up with me watching it every week.. I'm still holding on to the hope I can get him hooked.

Have you had him watch Blink? That's a good episode to use to get people hooked.

I don't want to see Blink again. >.< I think he would love some of the historical episodes, as he's a history buff.. I want to try to talk him into watching Victory of the Daleks, The Shakespeare Code or something like that. Maybe even The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances.. he loves war history in particular, especially the World Wars.
He says he's had a look at it, some of his old friends where he used to live are big Doctor Who buffs, but I don't think he's really watched it.
