Phewww. Just got home from my placement testing. O_O
I'm pretty proud and disappointed. Proud because I got the highest possible placement for an english class, but my math score was 37%. X_X Owned. I'm glad that I got 103% in the english portion though. (:

First, Yeaaah. Unfortunately, the media tends to do that. I remember when wrestling was incredibly popular, but I don't remember any speculation of steroid usage. I wouldn't doubt the rumors though because of their massive size.

Good job on the English portion!

Since Chris Benoit's "murder/suicide" (quotes because I don't believe he did it; I believe it was Nancy's ex) almost two years ago, the media jumps to the steroid thing for every wrestler's death. It's a huge debate among wrestling fans if he did it or not. (I believe if Benoit did do it, it was the result of brain damage due to his career not because of steroids.) What made me really angry was that Brian Adams, another wrestler, died about two months after the Benoit thing, and the media automatically went to assuming he was on steroids. The man wasn't a wrestler anymore. He'd suffered a severe spinal injury that ended his career. So for them to jump to that was really disrespectful to his memory. And, there were no steroids found in his system during autopsy. He'd used steroids in the past. People knew that. Most wrestlers and athletes in a lot of other sports have used steroids, so to blame their deaths on that before doctors or anyone say anything is inappropriate. /rant Sorry. It's just something that really makes me angry.

I agree that some wrestlers are really big and may have been on steroids, but WWE and other organizations are really taking charge to test them randomly for steroids so nothing like that happens. I like those big, bulky guys.

Steroids are just something for people who don't understand sports to shout when something strange happens. But sports figures tend to put a LOT in their body that's really uh, unusual and stressy for their various parts.

Steroids aren't going to kill anyone very young though. Hard living will. D=

I just love sports and working out though. When I was younger it was a 50/50 thing whether I was going to be a personal trainer or a chef, but I thought chefing would have more opportunity. I should have gotten training for both though, because training to be a personal trainer is cheap, and then I could have gotten more interesting jobs, lol.

Oh, yeah and my dad was a pro athlete and olympic level referee in his country.

So true. Andrew Martin was only 33-years-old. He had retired from wrestling to go back to college to become a personal trainer.

Chris Benoit was only 40, but he had been wrestling for 22 years. They studied his brain after what happened, and his brain resembled that of an 85-year-old with Alzheimer's. I just got really mad with Nancy Grace and other media that jumped to blaming it on steroids before the autopsy was even started. I stopped watching Nancy Grace for a while because of it.

A lot of wrestlers do have addictions, like Eddie Guerrero was really open about his alcoholism. It sucked that he was getting back on track, gone sober and everything and then he died. I cried.

Personal trainer or chef are two careers that will have a lot of use at any time. People always need to eat and most want to stay fit.

What sport did your dad play?

Yay, I'm so excited to see this place still active, though it looks like it's been reduced to 3 people :(

I wonder where IRK3N went.

I miss IRK3N and his bees. He seemed really busy though, and this is kind of the thing it's easy to forget when you're busy ...

@First -- my dad was on the Mine's wrestling team (lol, pro sports were so screwy under communism) and then he became a boxing referee, though he didn't pro box.

Yeah, my dad was from Bulgaria. They had a different kind of system for pro sports, partly because of the olympics partly just because of how people made money there. He technically worked for the Mine, but he competed on the wrestling team. That's how all the sports worked except for the national teams.

Aw, thanks, Irken! I don't have the Spirit of the Phoenix yet. I might get it someday.

Hey, Allura and Kat!

I'm not doing anything for St. Patrick's Day but wearing my middle school shirt. It's the only green clothing I own.
