Oh man, they're so good! It's a series about a mechanic woman that is a shape-shifter of sorts. She can change into a coyote. Well, she grew up with werewolves, and she lives next to a really hot one. ;D And there are vampires, and there are fae, and its a very funny and very well-written series. It's my favorite series i've ever read. I own almost all the books. Haven't kept up with the most recent releases. Patricia Briggs is just a very good writer, though. I love all her books.
:XD I did indeed mean I don't care for it. I'm not sure how that happened. Usually I proofread better than that. :lol: I went back and edited the original post. XD
My little brother had this bad habit of coming into my bedroom and stealing borrowing my manga before he got a job and could afford to buy his own. Which wouldn't have been a problem really, except while he had them, they seemed to get ripped, crinkled, and water-damaged a lot. :gonk: And I made a point of taking care of them because when you don't work and have to save money to get just one, manga is expensive. O.o

Okay, they have my attention. Tell me what the first one is called, and I'll try to find it at the library. :yes:

Sabiir:: I had to get up too early for my tastes. =_= Had to help fiance with something outside. But its probably good that I'm awake this early. Hopefully I'll get tired earlier tonight.
And awake this morning means I can scan the stupid classified websites for cars, and get it out of the way. -yawn-

I'm not looking for one for myself. I don't drive. :lol:
But I'm trying to find one for my momma. She doesn't have a computer that she can use so her resources are limited to the local newspaper and if she happens to see one with a for-sale sign. She has a really small budget, so I'm attempting to help. :)

Oh man, that would drive me nuts! I like to take very special care of my books. They mean a lot to me, and I like them to stay in good condition. All of my mangas and books look brand new, except for the ones that i've allowed people to borrow and they've thrashed. -_- I let a girl I went to school with borrow two of my Mercy Thompson books, and one came back with the binding completely ruined and some pages missing, and the second she never actually gave back to me! D:< So pissed about that. I ended up buying a new one. But yes, manga is crazy expensive, so that's why I stopped buying any. In comparison to a real book, you spend sooo much more for one, when you're only getting like a tenth of the actual story. It's really rediculous.

Yes! ;D I love getting people into the series. Even talking about it again is making me crave reading it. :lol: I really aught to re-read the last few and buy the latest ones. :drool: But yes, the first book is called Moon Called. :yes:

Thank you! ^^ I was very excited that I'd actually gone and done it. I hadn't been planning to do so, but I was in town to fill up my car with gas, and decided that it really had to be done. So, I just drove to different places where I knew they had large buisnesses or a plaza with a bunch of buisnesses and stopped into every one. @__@;; I just am not sure how to fill them all out, exactly. :x I was going to have my mom help me, but she went to bed after her bath and I didn't have the chance to ask. D:

I have been procrastinating it for so long! Several of the places I stopped into had just hired people, too. If I had only been stronger and gone earlier, then I may have been able to get those jobs, you know? But I knew that sitting around wouldn't get it done, and I really need to get this done. lol So, away I went!

Well, many applications are online these days. Half the buisnesses that I went to told me to go online. :/

Haha, I get that way over a book called The Shadow of the Wind. Its been my favorite book for years, and I think I re-read it at least once a year. =3

Yeah, I have to push myself to get out there to do things, but once I do it usually turns out well. Its the getting there. Though I agree about the online applications! Plus, theres no room for explaining yourself in an online form.

edit;; also, I love manga, but there are very few I've bought for that reason. I read really fast in the first place, and its just not worth it to pay $11-$18 for a story I finish in under an hour. Pet Shop of Horrors is my exception- I'll buy that series one day just cause I love it. x3

Well she wanted me to go on Craigslist because that's how I found the last car. -_- So I've been searching on there for a few days. I searched dealers on Craigslist though this morning and found 11, I think, and gave her the numbers/locations for 5 of them, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. ^.^;
On another note, its a b*tch to type with a brace on your hand. :no:

I dont like it. It seems very impersonal to me.
When I was in Jr High, I remember having the first two Maison Ikkoku mangas, and we had a system in my group of friends because one of us had a locker we didn't use, so we made it like the group locker and we all knew the combination, and we'd put books and manga in it (also contraband snacks and soda and gum :ninja: ) and I started putting spare pencils and pens and erasers in it, because we were always drawing or writing and I got tired of hearing people whine. :roll: Anyway, the rule was that if you borrowed something you had to leave something, but someone stole my Maison Ikkoku mangas and I knew who did it because I saw her with one of them, but I couldn't prove it. :no:

The only manga I've bought in recent history is the Loveless series, the first three of the Otomen series, and some random shonen-ai stuff. :/ They are ridiculously expensive. :roll: I do want to buy the NANA series because I got really into it, but they don't have it at the library here, nor can I find it online.

Yeah lol Good Omens did that to me, I'm re-reading it now.
Okay I'll look for it. ^.^

It is impersonal. I can see why classifieds are more popular online though because its free to list things online, and I know like our local newspaper (the one where my mom lives) its like $16 to place an ad that is pretty much a dollar per word. O.o

Yeah? I'll have to look into it, then. :)

Exactly. I know exactly what you mean. I am like that all the time. I'm a major procrastinator, but once I actually put myself do doing something, it usually comes out well. I really just have to get over taking forever to do it, becuase its a really bad habit.

Exactly! When you're finishing it so quickly, its really not worth the money. It's almost easier to just sit at the bookstore for an hour or so to read it, and do that often to finish a series. :lol:

That is a really neat thing to do. What a clever idea. :yes: But that seriously sucks! D:< Some friend she turned out to be.

I have quite a few series, I think. I won 30-something manga. Only a couple of them are complete, though. A few are missing like one or two. But they're only manga that I really enjoyed and wanted to read. And I will continue to really enjoy reading them.

I think it means a lot more to go into a store and do an interview and show that you want the job. Anyone can put an application online, but it takes someone that is willing to try to really go and get a paper copy and talk to people, I think. A lot of people are bad with people, and thats why they prefer online ones, but thats not something that they should be looking for in a employee. They want someone that will be good with their customers.

Haha woo for reading books at the bookstore! I totally did that too Suona, but not so much since Borders closed, since that was the closest to me. Theres a secondhand bookstore in my town though that I love because they give credit for books you bring in, so you can get rid of old ones and get a new one for like $0.20 which is awesome. :] They dont have anywhere to read in the store unfortunately though.
And yes! Going in and being persistent is what got me my current job. (Helps that I really wanted it, of course!) You get the best work from people who are actually motivated to be there I think.

Pretty good Keres! I had the store to myself at work, so it was a fairly easy day. :]

I sadly don't live anywhere near a bookstore. And the library in my little town is only open on Tuesdays. I honestly doubt that they have any mangas. It's a tiny little place.

But I love bookstores so much. I wish I lived near one, because I would love so much to work at one! :drool: That would be such a great job to have. Or a place with animals. ^^

Yeah? What job is it?
I can't go to most places all that often, because I live a bit away from any buisnesses, and it costs too much gas to drive to another town everyday just to stop in at a place, you know? It sucks.

Oh wow- I cant imagine living in a place where the library is only open one day a week. I think I'd go mad. >> I live in the suburbs, but it has one or more of.. pretty much any kind of store. You can find anything in my city. xD I should apply at the Barnes n Noble around here actually.. That would indeed be epic!

I work at a Hydroponics store, where I take care of all the plants in the showroom. Hydro is methods of indoor growing. I love it a lot actually! I handle everything from Hibiscuses and orchids to grapes, lettuces, corn and even a pineapple plant. On Christmas we harvested our first pineapple actually, it was delicious. :eager:

I wish I could work at B&N, but it's over a half hour away from where I live. :/ I live in a tiny little town with like 3,000 people. Only stores are tiny convienance stores. Even the larger town to the right of us doesn't have all that much. I dont believe it has a bookstore, either. There is a library somewhere, though, but i'm not sure where.

Wow. I've never heard of that before! That sounds so cool. A very neat job, indeed. :yes:

I hope so. None of them will be great cars, but she only has 1.3k to spend, at most, so she doesn't have a lot of options.
That's what happened to our previous car. :roll: We paid I think 900 dollars for it, and then had to fix the AC all in all it was about 1k and we had it for a year before the freaking....thing....that had water in it....radiator? That got a crack in it, and we couldn't afford to fix it. X_x So we had to carry around like two gallons of water in the trunk and refill the thingy so it wouldn't burn up. And then a couple months ago, it just quit on her all together.
Oh nothing, its just I have tendonitis in my right hand and it gets angry if I type a lot. Also I slept on it funny the other day, and its been bothering me since. SO I have a brace to wear that's supposed to "fix" it. :roll: It doesn't really help though, and it makes everything difficult. :gonk:

She wasn't really my friend, she was a friend of my friends. Her nickname was Zeus and she annoyed me. :stare:

I've had bits of a lot of series. Like I would get a one or a couple and then not buy anymore because I bought most of mine used. My favorites that I've never gotten to finish were Vampire Game and Angel Sanctuary. Angel Sanctuary was awesome but I couldn't ever find the ones after three, and then my brother started buying them, but then he started going to a church and then wouldn't buy them anymore because of the little immoral thing about the main character being in love with his sister. >_>; And I had no money cause I had to pay rent. :gonk:

I agree with you though on the job thing. Hiring processes have changed in the last few years. Like my mom used to get jobs fast because she interviewed in person. My brother and sister have a hard time finding jobs because they're just names on paper. My sister got her job that she had for YEARS from word of mouth saying she's a good waitress, and the only reason she doesn't have that job anymore is because the restaurant got destroyed in the tornado last year. And my brother got his job because he goes to church with the owner.

Well, good reason not to be her friend, I'd say. I hate theives. It's so low.

Aaah. That sucks. I dont really ever seen any used manga anywhere, at least not very good ones. Or its like the third one of a series or something. But getting used ones online still costs a bit because of shipping. :/ I think that all of the manga I own were new. They're burried in my room where I can't reach them easily, otherwise i'd pull them out and tell you guys all the names. I can recall a few. I have every single one but the first one of Tail of the Moon, which is a really cute one about ninjas. And then I have Hands Off, which I really enjoy. I made up a few yaoi couples in that one. :ninja: And then there is Meru Puri, which is amazing! Aaand, I know I have several more, but I haven't read them in a very long time, and can't recall their names. @__@;;

Exactly! In person you can really tell how a person is. I will be having an interview on Monday, though, and I hope to make a good impression. I'll dress nice and be very friendly. ^^ I am naturally friendly and good at talking to people, thank god, so I think that will really help. If I dont get that job, then I dont know where else is really hiring right now.

Wow. They seriously did that? That's rediculous. How extremely stupid. They had to know people would be stealing stuff. I mean, come on! People still even when shit is locked. Just leave it there unlocked with peoples stuff in there, then you an bet your ass stuff is going to be stolen. What idiots.

I loved it! I thought it was a great series.

Thank you! >w<;; There is another place in the town over hiring, but I keep forgetting to get an application from them. I think that when I head into town to pick up my boyfriend for the movies, that i'll stop there first and grab an application.

I always thought it was extremely stupid. I didn't want to put the GBA in my locker in the first place. I had it in the mesh pocket on my backpack and my bitchy teacher saw it and made me put it out there, like I'd be playing in the middle of class or something, because I was that kid. NOT. :roll:
My mom had literally just bought it the day before and had spent a pretty penny on it and the game she got me, and both of them got snatched. I felt so bad and I got in so much trouble! My dad was like "Rawr rawr I told you not to take it to school rawr!" ><;;

I could see if we have it at the library. I live in a big city so I have a lot of library access. o.o If they don't have it at the library I personally go to, they may have it at one of the others and I can order it.

Lol write it on your hand and you'll see it while you're driving. "NEED APPLICATION" in big block letters. :lol:
