The copycat alien from Midnight was awfully creepy, but I can't exactly say it ever made me jump out of my skin like the Silents or the gas-mask boy did. I think it's because both the Silents and the gas-mask boy liked to just appear out of nowhere. (So why the Weeping Angels didn't scare me, I have no idea!)

I'm about to watch Midnight right now.
IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE.
I think I'm just going to say that after every few lines in the show. "I'll be back later, we'll try that anti-gravity restaurant." IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE! "We seem to have had a failure of the entertainment system." IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!
Actually, ow, that's hurting my throat.

I'm watching Pan-Am. It might be a bit of a soap, but I usually enjoy any show that involves world travel.

One of the Australian girls I'm following on Tumblr is in London right now. She met and had a nice long chat with John Sim on the underground, but was somewhat mortified, as she had a massive bag of Who merch with her. Stockpiling while she could get it.

A Rosetta Stone mug sounds like the cat's pajamas. I have a magnet. It's tasteful and small and whatnot.

I don't see why that's reason to be mortified, heheh... I probably would have done the same thing. Especially since a growing number of my friends here in the States are 'Who fans, so I'm sure they'd all appreciate the souvenirs!
Woo, so tired. Tonight is the first of many all-nighters I'm going to pull this semester. I'd like to bring up my GPA, and make up for the damage that a few horrible science courses dealt me. :P

I'm such a fan of horror and the macabre that in general nothing in Doctor Who really 'scares' me. The closest is the Weeping Angels. Why? Because they took something I once found beautiful (I adored statues of angels in graveyards and cemetaries) and turned them into killers. The 180 'creeps me out' and I can never quite look at a statue again without checking to see if its eyes are covered.

@Lost and Biggles: I think my Rosetta Stone mug is pretty cool to be honest. Bought it at the British Museum so it was ridiculously pricy, but I think it was worth it. Still, compared to a TARDIS travelling mug..
@Biggles: Your friend met John Simm on the underground?? See, why do I never meet John Simm on the underground? Or any other awesome people, for that matter.. I never even happen to be there when they do the random Who promotional things, like having Cybermen on the underground or the Silence. *pouts*
Midnight is possibly the only episode I still haven't managed to watch again. I've even managed to watch the Weeping Angels episodes twice, but Midnight completely freaked me out. But then, I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to scary things.. :x
I thought the Silence was pretty creepy too, but comparing the first time I saw the Silence to the first time I saw the Weeping Angels or Midnight, it definitely didn't scare me quite as much.

Is the London underground pretty much the same as the New York subway system? If so, I'd probably get lost on it and consequently MEET ALL THE PEOPLE :illgetu: (homage to my new favorite internet meme.... anyone?)

She met John Simm? I can't even imagine how amazing that must have been...
On a related note, what would you all do if you happened to run across a celebrity/public figure that you particularly admire? I don't mean at a convention or signing or something like that where you expect to see them and they expect to see fans, I mean like... well, in the Underground, or in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE grocery store or something. This is something I've devoted a good amount of thought to. On one hand, if it was someone you really admire, you wouldn't really want to let the opportunity pass without even saying hello to them, but at the same time, you don't want to pester them and make them feel as if they can't do anything without being bothered by fans. And if you do decide to say something to them, what would you say? If you want to say a bit different than "I loved you in [show]/I loved your [book/album]" etc. ... what would you say then?
Back on a more Who-centric topic... This isn't officially officially confirmed, but Matt Smith seems to want to be done after season 7. :( That's a shame... but at least we'll have three seasons worth of him. That's a good long run, certainly not too short. But... aww. Now I have to be all anxious that I'll like the next person. Although I shouldn't be too quick to judge, I hated Smith when I first saw him. I thought he looked too young and goofy to be a good Doctor. My opinion on that changed after actually seeing him in the role.

Well, I'd probably start out by introducing myself, and maybe shaking their hand, because it seems more polite than just running up and blurting out how much I adore them! (as I might be tempted to do, heheh) Then I'd just say "I'm a really big fan of yours" or something and ask if I could get a photo with them. (Gotta have proof, yaknow.) Then I'd probably just thank them and let them go on their merry way.... I'd probably get too tongue-tied and flustered if I stayed there too long, anyway, and I'd end up saying/doing something stupid! lol.
Matt Smith is amazing! I was hoping he'd stay for another two years... *sigh*

I'd want to do what Lost said, as well as apologise profusely for bothering them.. but I'd probably end up completely tongue-tied and embarrassed to really say anything that makes sense. Dx I just have to hope that I'd stay sane enough to ask for a handshake and a picture (and that I'd have my camera with me.. I've started carrying it around with me less and less).
And Lost, I love that meme too, and apply it to random things as well. xD I dunno, I'm guessing the London underground is similar to the NY subway, but as I've never been to NY I can't really tell. :P
As to Doctor Who, I'm just hoping Moffat will calm down with the crazy confusing and ahh wtf is this scripts. I don't really mind change though, and three seasons are a pretty good run for a Doctor, if that is true. Tennant had three seasons, didn't he, as well as the specials?

Yeah, Tennant had three full seasons, but he was the Doctor for four years because of that year of specials. And no, it wasn't the longest-running Doctor, Lonely. Tom Baker was, he played The Doctor for seven years.
Also! Those of you who watch The Office may remember Catherine Tate having a small cameo at the end of last season. They've announced that she's going to be returning for a few episodes! :eager:

Yes, the more wibbly-wobbly and timey-wimey, the better, I say. That's why I was so excited when I first found out Moffat was gonna be head writer, because he's so good at that sort of writing!
