that is a good thing :) those are good books with good morales... most of the time. stealing a horse simply because you don't like the way the owner treats her is illegal

Yes but back then the didn't have the resources we have now to protect animals.

but it is still illegal to steal... and horse stealing was punishable by death in those days.

I loved looking at the catalogs and reading the books. I got the starter set for Kirsten one Christmas and my momma made a bunch of clothes for her. I'd still like to get the official stuff someday though.
