*huggles Lizzy* I'm glad to see you are trying to have a positive attitude. ^_^ I try to do the same when I think about people I've lost. Sometimes it can be hard but it does seem to get a little better with time. Next month will be one year since we lost Dad (my father-in-law for those who weren't here then), and my husband and I can mention him and reminisce a little about him now without ending up in tears, usually. ^_^

*licks the thread for Phobos and Deimos* Thank you for adding me to the whitelist. I shall endeavor to be a good minion. ^_^

Crow- I'm glad to hear you are praying more. I agree one can never pray too much. ^_^ Throw enough prayer at something and God will respond. He doesn't always work on our timeline or in the way one might expect him to but he does respond. For example, after being without electricity for nearly a month, we got a letter out of the blue from the VA saying they had approved Dad's funeral costs for $2000 (we applied back in October of last year when he passed). Since we had already paid the funeral home out of the insurance money, they refunded us the 2k which we used to pay the hellacious light bill ($660 O_O) along with our phone bill and my husband's car payment. We are caught up on those three bills for the first time in months and I give God the glory for it. Especially since everyone we had talked to said we would be lucky to ever get a dime from the VA.

Hello to anyone who is on! There is a wicked lightning storm going on here so I may poof shortly. I just wanted to drop in and say hello. ^_^ I hope everyone is doing well.

Hello Saravi!
I'm honestly glad after reading about what God has done for you. Coming from Gaia, where any such talk is absolutely taboo, I'm really glad Mene is this open.

^_^ Mene is an accepting sort of place, I've met a lot of other Christians on here, as well as people from many other faiths and I count them all as friends. I was chastised for talking about my faith once on Mene (by a user whose name I don't actually remember, lol) but I'm not going to let that put me off. I don't ask anyone to believe what I believe unless they want to, I just believe in giving God the glory for the blessings I receive and I think Christians have to put themselves out in the world in order to give people a chance to get to see what God can do even when things are bad. Not all of us are jumping around shouting about hell and condemnation after all. lol. I try to follow the "judge not lest you be judged" and the "love everyone so they can feel God's love through you" ideas (with varying amounts of success O_o' ). *shrugs* I'm glad it doesn't bother you. ^_^ I came from Gaia as well and I was pleasantly surprised by the reception I got here the first time I dared to mention my faith on Mene. *climbs down off her soapbox* ^_^'

Anywho, how are you tonight?

Geek Box: Salutations! Indeed, Menewsha is rather awesome like that. After this post, I'm going to send Deimos over to you with a trade. Now, you may receive a pop-up notice similar to when you receive a private message. You also may not, so in case you don't, click "TRADES" and simply accept what is incoming, there is no need to put anything on the trade in return... that's the point of this being a charity after all :)

Savari:
Why would it bother me haha, I myself am also a fellow Christian. I'm actually glad there is a place like Menewsha, where we can post and not be judge on who we are and what we believe in. I'm glad I found a community like this.

Phobos:
Thank you very much. Like I said early, I do appreciated what this thread stands for.

Boo- I consider myself a student of Comparitive Religion and I have an extremely ecclectic Spirituality ("how I go about things"). However, the foundation of my faith is Non-Denominational Christian, there was a little Bible Chapel on the end of my childhood street that ran Vacation Bible School and later the AWANA clubs that I was avidly a part of from 3rd-8th grade. Our church believes in no human heirarchy, and when I visited there last I was shocked by a detail I never noticed before, during Holy Communion, you don't have to go up to a Deacon, we simply plass the plates of the bread/Host and wine/juice/Blood around from person to person in the pews by ourselves... we were all equals there in the eyes of Divinity, within that church, and I really found that heartening. My father refused to become an 'official member' of my stepmom's selected Presbyterian church out here in California because you have to swear before a panel of elders and my father FIRMLY believes that your faith is between you and God and any church that makes you testify before middle-men goes against his beliefs, and I tend to side with him.

Geek Box- Most of us have come from Gaia... the only reason I haven't deleted my accounts is because I'm 'worth' about 30 million over there, but these days with the inflation I'm not even sure if that is all that impressive any more. Here on Menewsha your gold :gold: goes quite a bit further, there are systematic controls on inflation (ie the gold won from games being capped to prevent botting), and only one mule per user (with very rare exceptions, such as a charity mule -points to Phobos and Deimos- ). Believe it or not the "Important Information" is just another part of the acclimation process. In other threads, if you do not read the whole first post or you skim and miss something you may receive and infraction. Here, I basically point your digital nose in the right direction and ask you to re-submit a PM. For example, when I was new a Friend found a link to a User selling an item that i was questing for. I followed the link and posted inquiring about the item. I received a '0 point infraction' for 'necroing a thread', because apparently by mere DAYS I bumped a thread that had not been posted in by it's owner, the User, for x amount of time. I don't want silly things like that happening to those who come through my charity so the point is to gently get you used to reading everything... for your own good

And I'm glad that it's actually being monitored and the such unlike Gaia. Though I didn't know people could bot games, that's kind of scary. Thank you, for doing so. I honestly couldn't believe I missed that part of the rules. I must have been really tired when I was reading, but none the less it was still my fault and I apologize for doing so. Thank you for the Shirt by the way, my digital body was in fact getting quite cold.

GB please call me Boo. ^_^ That's great. I like meeting fellow Christians and since my hubby and I are between churches right now Mene is one of the few chances I get to fellowship. ^_^' I'm hoping we manage to make it to church this Sunday. We have a church we used to go to around here but we moved away for a while and haven't been back since we moved back into the area (mostly due to high gas prices and oversleeping). It wasn't a big deal for a while, there's more to Christianity than church of course, but recently God has been beating me over the head about getting back into a church and I can't think of another in our area that we'd feel as at home in. I'm hoping it will be good for my husband as well. He's been really struggling with his faith for a while now.

Crow's basic beliefs don't sound too far off from my own, though I have a definite leaning towards the Church of God Pentacostal beliefs on some matters. I was raised Baptist and that still forms the basis of my faith but I can't say I'm Baptist anymore. I would say I'm more generally Christian and leave it at that I suppose. I think people get too wrapped up in formal religion and forget the point of the endeavor sometimes. And I agree that faith is between you and God/Jesus, but I also think it is important to share that faith openly.

Looking much warmer GB. ^_^ Do you have a set of Easter eggs yet?

Geek Box- I'm a bit surprised you haven't tried out the Red Oriental Lantern, but you do seem to be working with a basic color scheme. By the way, should you for some reason not like your additional gift you are free to sell it and use the gold for whatever you like. As for the shirt, since they are not worth very much gold at all upon sellback, I would prefer that you decide to pass it on to another new Menewshan when you outgrow it. These are just options/suggestions, though.

Boo:
Will do. I too have been struggling with my faith for a while, until recently I went to a retreat and that was such a blast. I was a Spiritual High for a while. Usually, after summer that high was said to be gone, but mine was still there. I think that retreat really connected me right back to God. I'm a bass player for my church's band, so I go to church every Sunday, though sometimes it can be a hassle due to the gas prices. Though it's worth it to go to Church and lead worship with everyone.

I was raised baptist, and I honestly don't think much of if you're Baptist or another type of Christian. I think people focus way too much on that and forget that we all are Christian none the less. My church also does the passing the plates with bread and wine[in my church we use grape juice] from person to person within the pews. It's much more friendly and it represents that we all are equal. Even out Pastor sits in the pews with us, he doesn't believe he should sit up and be higher than everyone else. We are all equal in God's eyes. I do hope you two can be able to attend church this Sunday. It's good to go every once in a while.

Yes, I am quite warm, and no I do not believe I have set of Easter Eggs.

Crow:
I did try it out, but it did clash a bit with the color scheme so I dicided agaisnt it. I too, was thinking just that, when I finally start getting more gold and finally able to support myself on the site, I will do just that and donate these items you gave me. It seems such a waste to sell the items, it seems much better to donate to charities such as these and new menewshans.

Boo- Sleep is a good thing. I have had very severe sleeping problems for two to three months now. With the aid of medication (not my favourite route to go, but hey, it is kind of working) I have been able to establish a pattern, even if the pattern involves me waking up three times in the night to take additional medication or wear myself out further, I can generally replicate it and be awake by 1 PM which leaves me a few hours of 'business hours' to get mundane affairs taken care of. Unforunately my hospital clinic closes at 4 PM so if I need to make a doctor's appointment or call them to remind them to write the perscription for my pain medication, I've slept clear through the window of when they are open. I was messed up earlier this week, couldn't go to sleep until 8 or 9 in the morning, and the second day I didn't 'nap' whatsoever either... I was simply unable to sleep. It's the last item on the bottom-most layer of Maslow's heirarchy of needs that I need taken care of before I move on to other things. School is starting and I'm downright dejected that I'm not teaching kindergarten, music, or technology somewhere.

*huggles Crow* I'm sorry to hear that you aren't teaching. I thought I'd be working on getting my teaching license by now until my financial aid fell through so I sort of know how you feel. My hubby has medication for sleep as well (which he refuses to take :headdesk: I have to pick my battles and as long as he is taking the rest of his meds I can live with it). I'm glad they are sort of working for you and I hope you can get your sleep sorted out soon.

GB- Check your trades. ^_^ They aren't worth much but I thought you might like them. It will give you some things to play with while you save up for more expensive shinies at least.

You're welcome. ^_^ Don't know if you've noticed or been told yet, but one of the nice things about Mene is the way multi-equip items work. You can wear every pose from just one copy of the item (provided they don't have a layering conflict of course). That and the fact that you can change your avis hair, eyes, skin, gender, etcetera whenever you like. It makes it much cheaper to make an awesome looking avi than it is on certain *coughGaiacough* other avi sites. ;)

Now I must away to dreamland. I'll be praying for Crow to get some nice sleep tonight too! ^_^ *huggles* Later GB! *hugs* Nighty-night!

I have come to the conclusion that my forum regulars have a bit too much free time.. I haven't given out signature prizes since page 237 for crying out loud! Instead of making a massive roll post and translating everything... which will take too much time, I believe that from here back I'm going to work on doing a few rolls and prizes at a time.

Geek Box is now listed on the front page as one of our charity recipients (You're famous already, keep it up! XD). If you really do appreciate what we're doing here, there are two things you can do. The first is to simply point new users in this direction. You see, we're not allowed to blatantly 'advertise' because despite the fact I attempted to use different wording, it is considered 'very close to spamming'. However if you point a fellow new Menewshan or two this way for gifts and clothing, it should be okay. You can also put a link (text or image) in your signature. That is actually the criteria for winning the bonus items as a regular (non-new) member. Some people really luck out and win handfuls of items. As long as you have the link in your signature, and the more you post in this thread, the higher your chances of winning.

I'm going to start the 'regulars appreciation' by simply going back the past three pages:

The Signature Link Incentive Prize for Page 289 Goes To:
Post # The 25-sided dice lands on 9 which is user: boys: However, they do not have a signature link so they do not win a prize :(

The Signature Link Incentive Prize for Page 288 Goes To:
Post # The 25-sided dice lands on 20 which is user: CollanaEstoria: However, they do not have a signature link so they do not win a prize :(

The Signature Link Incentive Prize for Page 287 Goes To:

Post # The 25-sided dice lands on 14 which is user: The_Crow
(Extra rolls in case of recursive win): Scribbled Lore: Congratulations!
The 25-sided dice lands on 12
The 25-sided dice lands on 16

They have won prize #
The 82-sided dice lands on 33 which is a pair of Pink Striped Bathing Bloomers!

I might as well but my religious viewpoint in here as well, as well as what I've seen on gaia regarding it.

I was raised Catholic, but i never really saw any truth behind the words. The bible says that the earth is much younger than evidence proves, so i decided looking at different religions. I was unsatisfied. I consider myself an Apathetic Agnostic. My uncle, I dont even know what religion he is to be honest (because the way he acts is not christian) finds me to be an atheist. he finallty shut up about it when i gave him the dictionary definition of Agnostic and Athiest. although it dosent make him think any higher than me.

now as for what i saw on gaia, the people i know are rather open and accepting about other's religious viewpoints, if i go away from my hangout thread however... it gets ugly. the one thing i dont like, no matter where i am online or in person, are people trying to press their religious views on me. thats why a friend and i made a group on gaia for people who share my viewpoints or just want to get to know more about it.

sorry for all the typing errors.

Angel:
Hello!
I think no matter where you are there's always going to be trouble when you bring up religion。 I think it's a social taboo to bring up in a conversation until you are actual evangelizing。 You have the hardcore Christian who try to press their religion onto people instead of sharing it and you have hardcore Atheists who reject and criticize the religion rather than tolerate it。

You are entitled to what you're allow to believe in, and it''s only natural for Christians to try to convert you throughout life, just like how it's only natural for us Christians to be hated and mocked。 It's a never ending cycle, in life and especially harsher on the internet。

Honestly, I'm glad that you were able to find a open group about it, I on the other hand never really had such luck。
But, on another topic, how was your day?
