I think geodes are a recent trend in the baking world. I've been seeing a lot of geode cakes, cupcakes, and cookie recipes recently. I think they are super pretty! I loved geodes before this trend even began. In case anyone didn't know, a geode is basically a phenomenon where you have a rock with a cavity lined with crystals <3 and sometimes that cavity itself is called the geode. I've seen geodes being sold everywhere from museums to national parks to little trinket shops. Sometimes they're sliced and polished for jewelry or decoration. Anyway, these geode cookies look super creative and they probably taste great too!

So um, I think it's interesting to make black ice cream. I am not totally in love with their choice of coloring / flavoring though. She uses activated charcoal in this recipe, claiming that it is a great detoxifier and helps prevent hangovers...which sounds great and all, but does it actually taste good?? I don't know firsthand, but the ideal of eating charcoal-flavored ice cream just doesn't sound very appetizing. On the other hand, I agree with some of the comments in which people suggested just using black sesame for both the coloring and flavoring. And I guess, if you still want the detoxifying and anti-hangover properties, you could always add some activated charcoal in if you wanted to. But the black sesame could serve as the main flavor.

I feel like it was a pretty recent development that quinoa suddenly became all the rage in healthy eating. It also fits the vegan and vegetarian lifestyles and can be used in various dishes including salads. Now, I have had my own share of sprinkling quinoa on top of some leaves from the salad bar, but this quinoa salad recipe does look like a step above that :)
This looks so yum!!! Includes recipes for both sweet nachos and savory nachos :D It is super simple to throw all together; just need the ingredients and you're all set! This looks like something you could let the kids help make too in the kitchen.
Apologies for the delayed Halloween recipes. I watched them, saved them to my playlist, and meant to post them earlier. But they are just too cute and yummy-looking to wait until next year to post :)
This is a recipe for brownies. But with a decorative twist! In which you can turn it into a glowing pumpkin patch simply by carving out indentations into the brownie and then inserting tea light candles. Electronic ones, of course; no fire involved in this decoration. Then, you place jack-o-lanterns made of candy melts on top of the candles so that they light up in the dark! How cool is that?
I know this is technically a Halloween decoration, but brownies are classic year-round, and I am sure this tea light candle decoration idea can be applied to the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday for some added romance :D

I love everything nutella. Honestly, the deep-fried aspect of this recipe does not sound the most healthy, but it definitely does sound like it tastes great.
Another giant creation. I personally love Doritos tortilla chips and especially in the Nacho Cheese flavor! So this recipe is perfect for someone like me. That is, if you discount the fact that I could just open a bag of small ones to munch on as opposed to taking the time to make this, haha. But it doesn't seem like it takes very long to make either and is surprisingly simple.

Continuing the trend of giant-sized dessert recipes, here is a giant doughnut! You can make it as is, or you can turn it into a mirror cake by covering it with a shiny reflective liquid frosting. Yum!
