Yes, I prefer cold too. I can deal with mosquitoes since they're everywhere. Just not giant spiders and centipedes. ~dies

I can't deal with any bugs. They all terrify me. Every single one. Except butterflies. They're pretty, but even they can't come near me.

I find butterflies are pretty from afar. Close up, not so much. I don't really freak out when a butterfly comes near me though. I had a classmate who was AFRAID of butterflies. If a butterfly rests on our classroom window, she gets fidgety and tries to hide that she's freaking out. If a butterfly is in our classroom, she screams, runs out of the room, and never come back in until the butterfly is gone. I thought it was quite entertaining at first but I saw how scared she really was.

That's PRECISELY me with dogs and any bug besides butterflies! I'd react that way if a butterfly got too close to me or even landed on me. If they're not close? Fine. I can't stop looking at them.

Why are you afraid with dogs?

I've never liked dogs. Even the little ones. I had bad experiences with them when I'd Trick-or-Treat. In the neighborhood where I'd do that, at a lot of the houses there had dogs that would start barking when they heard the doorbell, and they'd rush out when the door was opened. More recently, I've known of people whose dogs will come after anyone they see. I have this mental image of dogs jumping on people and licking them, as I've seen and heard about numerous times, and I don't like that.
Plus, I'm zoophobic, so I'm scared of any living thing besides humans by default. Even cats, yet I should be crowned the resident crazy cat lady of Menewsha.

Aww, I hope you'll get to experience a loving and calm animal one day. I love almost all animals. We have 5 dogs and a housecat here.

If I managed to stay near a kitty, I'd be happy.

Dogs can be very overwhelming to me. We live in an area with bugs, so I can't avoid them. Our lawn mower needs a new battery and our yard is turning into a bug preserve. Amane would not want to be here right now!!

Yikes! I have yet to experience a non-bug day in GA, even when it's cold. I grew up in a high desert area with very few bugs and this is just not cool!
The trade off is seeing wildlife through the windows of my house, and that's a fair trade in my book!

Bugs disappear in winter here. Especially last winter, with that gorgeous polar vortex.

Hear, hear. Could have done without all the snow, but at least I didn't have to deal with any bees. (yay, melissophobia!)(also, eff you, Firefox, "melissophobia" is TOO a word! )

Unless it is a thread full of gross things. Then you HAVE to use a stick.
