Edit: I started a thread in Gaias Q & A - I haven't had much response because like nobody is on when i'm online at night. Anyway one guy said that - You cannot offsite link if it gains you points.
Points - I'm thinking is like Gold/Items etc. And since referring people here would be doing that. I'm guessing it's a no go.

All I can suggest is what he's already doing, check through a particular site's rules/ToS before adding anything anywhere that you're unsure of.

Generally yes. There are a few exceptions. Harmful links are prohibited, and anything that would break the TOS if posted here is also prohibited to be linked to.

Competition sites are also prohibited, so you couldn't link to Menewsha. Generally it's a good idea to follow the basic rule of thumb.

Is this site a forum with an avatar system and economy? That pretty much makes it a competition site. If you can earn currency and spend it on your avatar or pet or something, then it's considered a competition site and not allowed.

It's like how you'd never see one company (Microsoft) ever advertising a competitor (Apple)

Forgot to mention, referral links are also forbidden. These are considered links where if someone clicks on it, you earn some sort of points.

That includes the vampire army links, other forums where you earn gold for getting people to join ect...

Yeah - that makes sense, considering that's basically the same as Menewsha's rules. XD (Though I think we might actually allow those, "oh, you've been bitten!" vampire site links.)

How often is that list updated? Because I know for a fact that at least one person that I referred signed up! <3

And...if the person we referred goes under our username or IP address....does it matter which PC we use? Because I use my laptop, desktop, computers at work, school, friends houses, boyfriend's laptop...etc...

Whoa! I did not expect that many people to sign up that I referred....now just to see if they stay active or not.

@majinkoz I didn't expect anyone I refered to sign up. There is one guy that stalks me on the internets (not really we just end up on the same sites a lot) but he might have been one of them.

It's nice to have clarification on the rules and it's a good thing I didn't put it. xD I'll just have to refer my friend directly instead of a link. *shrugs* Tis all good, since I only really have two friends on Gaia that would come here and one already refused back during last October's referral blitz.

There is a link now, though. XD Go to "My Account" - there's a new textbox thing with your referral link. :) Though I'm betting the old "type in the username of the person who referred you" method still works, yes. XD

I was hoping you could count me as one of Roachi's referrals, since she really was the one who referred me here from Gaia. I just didn't know her username at the time when I registered here (which was today, actually xD).

I even created a thread for them all lol. But it's so hard to tempt people away from Gaia.

I know, for many, we're just not their kind of thing. But at least they've signed up..

Maybe once we've got some further development under our belts, and new features to tempt people with, they might come and check us out again and find us more appealing :yes:

A lot of my referrals have said that they get annoyed with creating their avatars here - and that's the reason why they don't come back. You know how you have to save it every time you wanna see a hairstyle or eye colour etc. *sighs*

But i'm gonna give them another shove and see if i can tempt them one more time... :yes:

Oh Btw jelly - Was Rylynne accepted as one of my referrals? Just checking, coz i'm going to have a contest for my newbies and she wants to partake =].
