Demitri sheathed his sword. "I don't want to hurt you." He stood there, staring into her eyes. "If I did, you would be dead right now. A monster would have killed you, like Dango. He was a monster. But that doesn't mean that we're all monsters." Demitri readjusted his hat. "If I'm not mistaken, you humans have done some monster-like things, haven't you? World War One, mustard gas and tanks. World War Two, probably the worst, the atomic bomb. Yet, I don't hold you accountable for that mass murder, and I certainly haven't harmed anyone." This was indeed true. He spent most of his life getting blood from animals, he didn't even kill them.

Kairi was silent for a few seconds as she thought that over. He did have a point. With a sword like the one he had, he could have easily killed her at any moment. Yet he didn't. ".... I guess you're right...." she muttered, unwilling to admit it. "But what do you think I should do with my time then? Hunting down vampires has been my life purpose." she crossed her arms, gripping her hands into tight fists.

He pointed to the ashes of Dango. "There are some of us that are bad, may I remind you, so you're not out of the business yet." He held out his hand. "So, are we cool, or am I going another round with you?" He asked bluntly. A small breeze blew through, blowing away some of the ashes.

Kairi was silent for a few seconds, thinking it over. She sighed and took his hand. "I think it'd be pointless to fight you." she said. She looked down at the ashes. "... I'm going to clean this up." she muttered, going to a janitors' closet and taking out a broom and dustpan. She swept up the ashes and dumped them in the trash.

"Uh, by the way, I think your cover's blown." Demitri said, looking at the staring people, most of whom had their mouths wide open. To them, all he did was tip his hat.

Kairi shook her head. "No. Not really. They already knew I wanted to kill vampires. But I think you're covers blown." she said, shrugging. At least now everyone knew she wasn't crazy.

"I have no cover." Demitri said, smiling at the people, revealing his fangs. The people immediately backed off. "So what n.." Kite was interrupted when the ground moved out from under his feet. "Crap, I forgot!" He said, the earth shaking. "Hey, kid, we have to go, now!" Demitri yelled at Kairi. "They're coming!"

"Who's coming?" Kairi asked, almost losing her balance. She looked around and didn't see anyone besides her classmates. Her eyes narrowed at that kid remark, but decided to get mad about it later. She turned to the nearest exit and ran outside.

"Who Dango worked for! You really think a vampire that stupid would still be around this whole time?" Demitri yelled, running beside her. "Here, get on my back, I can run us out of here!"

She looked at him skeptically for a few seconds but sighed. "Fine." she said, getting on his back. She still was reluctant to trust him, but he did have a point. He could run a lot faster than her.
