Harry frowned at him, tilting his head. He watched Draco's posture change, and the look in his eyes become dark and foreboding.
"Draco...Draco, are you alright?"

Night fell quickly over the land.
Above, stars twinkled and danced with each other, giggling light-heartedly among their kin. Only a few would look occasionally to the woman hanging loosely on the moon, a soft, pale blanket of clouds draped across her shoulders and star dust shifting slowly between her arms. Long wings of clearity pure as ice and warm as crystal, lay gently over either side of the moon, her swing.
Hair light as the noontime sky and just as blue, hung over her shoulder. Pinned in it was her reminder of her limited time of this part of the world, a small golden clock awarded to her by her Father, and everyone's. Father time. She was awarded only so much time...for what she had created was not as light and glorious as what she had thought.
Mother Moon, Moona...now Luna, looked down at the earth as her children began to awaken. The night-walkers, the night-stalkers. Creatures who would live forever with her, who worshiped her even. They were meant for good, good things. Healthy things...
But her brother son rejected them as monsters, that not creature besides them should live eternally, and banished them from his light.
Oh how she wept that day...and how angry her babies became.
She was so gentle, and remained so, watching her babies turn to these human-hating, blood-sucking...monsters, that her brother Sun had proclaimed them to be. Had he not done so, they would be so much better...
They were meant for so...
She wiped a small tear from her cheek, tossing it into the sky as it too became a small, giggling starlet.
Her vampires...
She looked down onto the world again and plucked up her star-dust scarf, waving her arm over the land. Light from the moon she swung on bathed it, illuminating it in a glory that only her children would ever learn to see.
She smiled faintly. "Wake," came the whisper, soft and light as a spring gust. "Wake, my babies...come alive...join me tonight...keep with me, company..."

Draco was dazed, glaring straight ahead of him. Said look caused some unwelcome first years to scamper away from their seats, caused them to move. He slowly glanced over, staring toward Harry. With a somewhat angered look, he stood. The Great Hall became quiet, all eyes turning quickly toward Draco.

"I'm fine." He snapped, turning. He walked swiftly toward the doors toward the rest of the castle, cloak swaying as he walked with angry purpose.

~*~

She was tall, almost six feet. Her soft silver hair was cut short, framing her face. Red eyes opened easily as she felt the sun finishing it's decent to unawareness. She carefully pushed open the door to the rather large closet, the one that held a soft bed. She looked back toward said bed for a moment, as if considering going back, but a whisper caught her ears, and for some reason, she deciding to go out.

Crii watched as she walked smoothly out of the home. No one had ever really suspected her. She normally kept a straight face, only showing her fangs when she talked or smiled, which was rare. The wings that she did own, were tucked neatly, perfectly, against her back, covered by a jacket. They molded into her back as well, and appeared to be tattoo's to the naked eye. She was a hybrid version of a Vampire. Seemingly more special. Most other vampires respected her. For this, she was unsure, but she accepted it without argument.

She wondered the streets, getting interesting glances from men and woman. She wore a black cloak that draped about her shoulders and hung down to the ground, as well as a red and black elegantly designed button up that had two tails in the back. Black pants and shoes finished the look, with a pair of black and red earrings of a broken heart. A choker with a heart on it hung about her neck. Piercing gaze shifted slowly about, as if looking for pray, but she was not sure if she was hungry, at the moment.

Her eyes slowly lifted toward the moon, staring up at it. She blinked, smirking slowly. With slow movements, she continued to walk, until she finally found herself atop a building, looking down at the weak humans on the ground.

"Pathetic..." She whispered.

Her soft eyes scanned around, the particular make-up of her lovely, horrible children catching her. Somewhere in each of them, the softness of the moon was said to be...
But she was finding it harder and harder to find herself inside them.
A particular one of her babies caught her eye, a rare make-up of a breed she didn't see often on this part of the world. A hybrid, a mix of her babies and other creatures was uncommon. Though the most common seemed to be a mix of her babies and her brother Sun's children.
But this one...
She hopped gently from her moon, curling her fingers in it as small feet touched the clouds. She tugged it and it swayed, and she began to walk, dragging it with her. Once properly above her small child, she sat back down again, draping her blanket and shawl of stardust and clouds around herself.
The single word reached her and she mourned, countenance becoming very somber. The moonlight seemed to dim just a bit.
Such hatred, these cousins had, her babies and her brother's.
She reached out gently, a small moonbeam float across Crii's cheek in a soft caress.
"You are like them, though...are they so repulsive?" She frowned, withdrawing her hand and the moonbeam faded away.

Dark eyes continued to watch the creatures, staring as they wondered around the city. Some were drunk, she could smell it. Others, were angry. And still others had an air of sorrow about them. She could smell the difference between the good and the bad. She could taste it in their blood when she fed. She was a smart creature, and everything about her called her to want to kill them all. They were infuriating. They were repulsive. They were-

She thought she heard something. She had felt something on her cheek. Crii looked around, eyes darkening. She hated that feeling. Like someone was watching you but you couldn't see who. It was almost as bad as when someone was following you. It always felt as if they could see everything you do. It was a vulnerable position. And she detested it.

With a small growl, she took a step toward the middle of the buildings rooftop. Her shoulders straightened, head heightening. She looked around, ready for a fight. Somehow, she was getting in more and more of those lately. It was as if creatures of the night, and of the day, knew where she was, knew she was what she was, and were willing to die to get rid of her.

"Who are you? What do you want?" She called, voice low.

"..."
She sighed softly, covering her mouth for a moment with her blanket. She watched the young woman call out to the empty air, she could almost see the detestation. Oh...it hurt her. Her heart beat thumped softly and her hand moved gingerly to her chest. How angry. So angry, so full of hatred.
This was not what she wanted.
The girl, the Moon thought, had the blood of an...what was it they called themselves? An elder. She had been fed upon by one of her born-babies, the 'original' vampires, the ones born from the Moon's own womb, bread from the night sky and her light.
She had the blood of an heir.
Quickly, the clever Moon thought of something. The Elders were respected by most night walkers, save for those silly young ones who always caused the Moon more heart-ache then happiness. She covered her mouth again, before settling.
Yes, she would do it. This girl...this girl so full of hate and anger...
She would be her prophet.
She quietly stood from her moon into the clouds and walked to a hole in one, waving her arm. The stars stopped their giggling, stopped their playing, to watch her as she sent a moonbeam down onto the cold roof off the building the woman stood on.
The Moon took a long breath, looking around at her home, before reaching back to touch her swing. It shrunk immediately, to become a charm of a cloud-blue silk ribbon about her neck.
Again she looked through the whole, before nodding and pulling her shawl and blanket of moon and starlight around her. This was it.
This would be her first decent to that world, since the birth of her children.
She took a step, and the moonbeam flowed like water.

Above, the moon vanished from the sky, sending the world into total darkness. But the stars new their place, and gave sight to the ones they knew as their siblings, their ground-sisters and ground-brothers.
The beam carried her swiftly, until she was there on the roof, glowing faintly, features pale as snow. She opened her eyes, cloud-blanket and shall still tight around her body, golden eyes looking woefully on her daughter.
"I am always here, Crii."

Red eyes shifted quickly, looking around. It was all quiet. The cool night air. The only sound was of the humans, and she had learned quickly how to ignore their noise. If she hadn't, she wouldn't know how to sleep during the day. She took another step, throat feeling dry. She wasn't thirsty, so she wasn't worried about hunting tonight. Her eyes flickered slowly toward the ground, staring in thought.

That was when she noticed it. The light changed. It got brighter. For several moments, she just stared. Then, just as fast as it was bright, it was dark. She looked up quickly, ignoring the noise below of people screaming out and staring at the sky, unsure what happened to the moon. Dark eyes narrowed as she looked about. The moon... Where had it gone? She stepped back, almost tripping. Her hands tightened into fists. What was going on? Where did the moon..

That's when she heard a soft voice. Crii whirled around, staring toward the woman. She narrowed her eyes slowly before clenching her fists harder. She was so small.. She looked so delicate.. Crii's nose twitched, taking in the unfamiliar smell. It was... It wasn't a human. She glared some, taking another step back. For some reason, this being intimidated Crii. Something hardly any being had ever done. For some reason, she seemed to know the Vampire. For some other reason..

Crii seemed to know her.

"Who are you." She demanded, voice sounding weak even to herself.

She didn't noticed such a height difference, her being so petite at only about five foot two, maybe three. Soft eyes watched her, then seemed to grow more hurt. She hugged her blanket and shawl around herself, thin fingers curling in the soft, ereathral fabrics. She stayed silent for a moment, soft bluish hair drifting gently over her shoulder ina heavy curl. She frowned as the woman stepped away from her, before looking down.
Had the already so lost recognition of her? Had it been so long to them?
She looked back up for a moment, eyes scanning the womans face, before she smiled. A very soft, fragile smile, with sad, large eyes, and a strange wiseness to them.
"Crii," she whispered, clasping her blankets closed with only one hand, the other reaching to her. Her nails matched her hair, a soft, light blue. "That is what you call youself, yes? Do you not know me? You look upon me every time you awaken." She took a soft step forward, before frowning and looking down. Golden stockings shuffled against the rough rooftop, and heavy, cloudy-colored and, almost textured, warmers lay gently over her feet. She moved her foot, stocking catching breifly. "The ground here is so...rough..."

A confused look crossed the Vampire's features. She rarely looked upon such a small woman. Or.. thing. She still wasn't sure /what/ this woman was. Her eyes flickered, taking in every feature. She didn't look upon much of anything any more. She went out, fed, and went back to her bedroom. She nodded to the question of what she was called. As far as she knew, her name had been Crii for years. She thought about it quietly. Though her mind continued to go back to the concept of looking upon such a woman almost every night. She couldn't recall...

When the woman stepped toward her, Crii took a step back. She'd never felt so threatened in her life. She held her head up high, looking toward her darkly. Her eyes scanned the woman. She was so frail.. but why was she herself so... so scared. She gulped, watching her. What was this odd feeling? Who was this woman? Where did she come from? Moments before, she had been alone on the roof... And then when the moon disappeared...

"The ground is always rough... How do you know my name?" She asked, voice softening. For some reason, she couldn't stay angry at this being. She wanted to be angry, wanted to lash out and snap that she knew nothing of her. But... something was holding her back. She looked away, thinking, hair falling into her eyes.

She moved her foot again experimentally, and her stocking caught again. It bothered her a bit. This texture was not as it was when she brought their kind to life. It had been soft, green, and very lush. She withdrew her hand and hugged her blanket about her, shivering faintly. So cold, she thought. So much cooler in a physical body.
Finally, she looked up from her feet to the woman. She smiled faintly, tilting her head. Two long, dark blue threads fall into her eyes from the watch pinned to her hair.

She looked upon the woman, curious. Frightened? She was frightened? Was she so terrifying?
She looked down at herself and frowned a bit, before looking back up. She sighed softly, hugging her blanket further around her, before looking back up. Her eyes softened to worry, and her mouth became a tight line.
"I know the name of all of your kind." She tilted her head. "I named you, every one of you. You are special among them, which is why I have chosen you, Crii, as my prophet to my children." She smiled faintly. "You bare the mark of what your kind calls an Elder. They are my sons and daughters. You are my daughter, as is everyone of your kind. Those who are frightened of the dark, those who are so frightened below us, they are the sons and daughters of my brother. Your kind, you were born from me, from my body. They call me Luna...your elders call my by the name my father gave to me--by Cexlan." She smiled warmer, offering her hand again. "The young generations merely call me, Mother Moon."

Crii blinked, staring quietly. This woman.. she was something that she never knew. It wasn't that she feared the woman. It was that she feared not understanding. She'd always understood everything. But somehow... this was different. She gulped, watching the woman move. She stared toward the hand, blinking. What the.. Her eyes flickered up, staring. She opened her mouth to say something, but closed it.

"T-The... The moon.. in... a human body.." She whispered, more to herself.

Without a second thought, Crii dropped down onto one knee, in a kneeling position. She bowed her head some, closing her eyes and placing her hands delicately upon her own knee. She never thought it be possible that she would meet the moon. She'd heard stories of Her. Stories of how the Moon brought life to their kind. She'd heard tales of old and new. But they were so old... The stories were from years past.

Hundreds of years.

And this woman was so young. Crii gulped, hands clenching. Suddenly, she wasn't scared.. She was... Anxious? Perhaps confused. She wasn't sure what she was. She was.. awed.

The motion startled her for a moment and she recoiled her hand back under the blanket. She stared, tilting her head and frowning. What on earth was she doing?
After a moment, she shuffled over, occasionally looking at her tiny feet with a disgruntled expression, picking her feet up like a puppy in dog-booties. She didn't like this...this...ground. This new under-foot stone of some kind. In any case, she disliked it.
She shook herself out of her thoughts and looked at Crii curiously, before couching much like a child would, to lean and look up at her. Her hair shifted back over her shoulder, laying against her back, and she leaned rather heavily to one side to look upside down at Crii.
She blinked once.
"Child what exactly are you doing? You're getting your knees all filthy with...ground-dust." She smiled softly, standing back up and gently patting Crii's head. "Please get up. I much prefer you looking at me then at my now dusty stocking feet, my dear Crii. I do have a quest for you as well."

It took a few moments for the thought to process in her head. She blinked, glancing up. So this woman, who had been watching the world for centuries, didn't know what buildings were? She frowned, slowly putting pressure on her leg and standing, body moving smoothly. She stared down at her, gulping some. Her hands were actually shaking. She shoved them quickly into her pockets and looked around before back down at the woman.

With careful movements, her arms shot out, picking the girl up easily. She swung her over, putting her on her back before starting to quickly run, jumping over the building edges onto other ones. She got a determined look and moved quickly, legs working. Her breath was even as she moved, her legs strong. She moved as fast as she could with another with her, before stopping at her home. She moved slowly in, setting the woman down onto the carpet of the front entrance.

"You mean the cement. It's what buildings are made from." She stated, moving forward and pushing open a door to a room with nothing but a fireplace and a fainting sofa. ".. You're the moon..." She whispered, sitting on the sofa, eyes watching the woman.

She yelped, clinging to Crii's neck rather tightly as she was run with, eyes wide with mild fear.
Goodness gracious she forgot the speed she gave them.
When she was set down again, she stumbled a bit, resting her hand on the wall for support. She looked at the wall, frowning some, and moved her hand along it. It too was rough, course. Hard. Strange and foreign compared to her gentle swing and soft clouds. Though...when she looked down, she wiggled her toes on the carpet. This, this soft fake-grass...it was nice.
She looked up after a moment, walking quietly into the room and looking around. I knew buildings were made from cement, but I did not realize the dwellings you had were so...course...so rough... she frowned some, looking back at Crii. "Are you comfortable here? Do I need to accommodate? Is there something I could do, to soften these hard walls..." She looked around again, before back at her when she stated what, indeed, Cexlan was. She smiled, resting her hand daintily on the rest of the fainting couch, her shawl and blanket still hiding most of her body. "Yes, my sweet lovely...and you will be my prophet."

Red eyes watched as she moved. Was she really so unused to hard objects? Was the moon soft? As far as Crii was concerned, the moon was hard. She thought for a few moments, slowly looking toward the window to check the time. She never relied on clocks. They could lie. She looked back toward the woman. She had hours. Her eyes caught with the Moon's before she looked away, as if ashamed of what she was.

Crii shifted, sprawling lightly on the sofa. She draped one arm lightly over her eyes, the other lying at her side. She listened quietly as Cexlan listed off item after item of what she could do. As far as she was concerned, the buildings were fine. She didn't mind them at all. Actually, she preferred them. With such walls, she didn't have to worry about sound or light getting in. Without them, she could be damaged in her vulnerable hours. She shook her head quietly at the question before slowly sitting up on her elbows, looking toward the woman in curiosity.

"Prophet? What do you mean?" She asked.

She was terribly confused. Why would the moon come seeking her? She was just a... a... Monster, so most called her. She laid back once more, closing her eyes in thought. It was always easier to think with her eyes closed.

She rubbed the fabric beneath her fingers, tilting her head. She smiled faintly, moving her hand to pet down some of Crii's hair. So worried, this one. Perhaps it would aide her, her cautious nature. Then again, any more most of her children were cautious, with their animosity with the daywalkers and their distinct physical condition concerning UV light.
"I need a voice my children will listen to," she sighed softly. "I have revealed myself to my children only once before, at their birth. But I...they have become..." She looked down, her hand stilling. "...They are becoming the monsters my brother had first decided they were...you were not meant to be such...angry beings...you were meant for beauty and tender hands...for softness...for my companions." She sighed, taking her hand back. "To live with me, eternally...but my brother called you monsters and banished you from his sight...and now the monsters he said you once were...you are becoming."

Interest started to spike in Crii's mind. She peeked an eye open, and moved her hand out of the way to stare up toward the woman. She wanted someone they would listen to? Well they rarely listened to herself. If anything, she would merely be ignored or attacked. She sighed, covering her eyes again in thought. If she tried anything, normally they lashed against her, because she was different.

She wasn't like the other Vampires, and they knew it.

Crii slowly sat up, back straight. She tilted her head toward the woman, staring quietly. Her eyes shifted slowly back down toward the ground. She began to think again. She was worried. What if she couldn't do it? The Moon was depending on her. And the Vampire's were becoming monsters. They were starting to even dare sunlight to kill humans. She could remember the days were it was merely quiet seduction, going back to a home, and killing there, out of sight, in elegant tranquility.

"The other Vampires do not listen to me, Moon. They much rather prefer attacking than listening." She said, eyes turning toward the woman.

She nodded, smiling faintly. "I know," she whispered quietly, holding her coverings closer. She felt her heart grow heavy, and her eyes fell to the ground in mourning. Her smile faltered and eventually fell, taking a slow and shakey breath. She closed her eyes, fingers curling tighter. "I know they do not listen, and I know they do not do much more than attempt to attack you. But I will keep them at bay for you. I will whisper into their ear. You have the blood of my first-borns, my original children...you are special." She took another shakey breath, before nodding and finally looking back at her. "I will travel with you. Though during the day I must be gone--I will travel with you at night. Whisper for them to congregate. They will be unable to see me, if they are not of my original blood line." She searched Crii's face, looking both panicked and determined. "I need you, Crii. Your brothers and sisters need you, now. They will listen. Maybe not all at first but...they /will/ listen. I can not get my message to them...you must be my vassal..you must be my prophet. I have chosen you because I /know/ you can do it. You are cautious, but strong-hearted. You will not let people hurt you, or get you down. You are determined and hard-minded. You can do it...I need your help."

Crii opened her eyes slowly,s taring back toward Cexlan. She watched her, curious. What was she... Was she serious? She frowned lightly in thought before turning her eyes away to stare up at the ceiling. Her mind worked slowly, concentrating. She needed to think about this. If there were too many of the Vampire's around, they could harm her. They could rip her to shreds. She closed her eyes for a few seconds before opening them again to look at the Moon.

"... All right. I'll do it." She said.

She looked all kinds of relieved, relaxing visibly and touching the edge of the fainting couch again. She smiled warmly, closing her eyes and taking a long breath.
She had a prophet...she had a voice. She had a chance to save them. Thank you, Father Time...thank you.
She opened her eyes, looking at her prophet with joy, concern and relief.
"They will not harm you...I will keep you safe." She reached out, petting her soft, silver hair. She let a single tear run down her cheek, and it fell to the floor. It clinked when it hit, having become a perfect teardrop of silver. She leaned, plucking it off the ground, and handing it to her. "A tear of the moon...utmost protection..." She smiled. "Keep it with you, my child, at all times."

Crii sat up some, frowning at the tears. She almost reached out to wipe the tears away, but felt the woman move. Her eyes shifted down toward the ground for a second before looking back up. She stared curiously at them. Her eyes shifted to the small thing of silver. She took it, turning it over in her hands. If it was like this, she wouldn't be able to. She'd lose it...

With careful moves, she twisted and turned the silver between her fingers, rolling it. Within seconds, it was molded into a small, silver ring. She stared down at it before slowly fitting it down onto her pinkie on her right hand. She stared at the small silver ring for a second before looking up toward her.

"How does that work?" She asked.

She watched the woman craft the silver quickly while it was still warm with her gladness. She smiled softly, watching the ring take shape, them be placed delicately on her finger. Nodding, she moved fluidly to sit gently on the very edge of the fainting couch, leaving room between them. She re-folded her covers again, getting more comfortable, before looking up and responding with a soft smile. "If anyone of my babies gets the idea to come at you in a malicious way, they will miraculously find themselves, instead, wanting to leave you alone--or, at least, keep their distance." She nodded, looking at the fire. "Is it unfavorable?"

Her eyes shifted carefully over toward the fire as well, before slowly looking back toward the woman. She stared for a few seconds before slowly tilting her head. She made a interested look before glancing slowly toward her again.

"Interesting. And it's not that... Just.. different from other things, you know? We've never heard of that before."

She nodded once, closing her eyes. She relaxed some, the watch in her hair dinging the hour. Only another hour left of night-time. She nodded slightly. For as much as she could think, nothing in the world was like this. She'd lived all over. She frowned gently and fingered the small silver ring. Her eyes flickered back toward the window. She hissed lowly when she saw the sun starting to peek over the edge. She stood, grabbing the Moon by the wrist, and pulling her down into the basement. She walked quickly toward the small room that held her bed, the one with no windows. Walking in, she shut the door, locked it, put something over it to block all the cracks, and ensured it was all where it was supposed to be.

"There...." She whispered, looking back toward Cexlan.

The woman looked around, before smiling faintly. She glowed a soft white glow in the dark, eyes bright as stars. She sat down on the bed after a moment, looking up at her. Would she be staying? She needed to move on, and watch over the babies on the other side of the world...but her stars could do that.
She watched the woman for a moment, tilting her head. Why whisper? Was someone else here?
"I do not know if I will be drawn back to the sky with my clock chimes time for me to go."
