But It Sickens Me To Hear Classmates Going On About How Much Fun It Was Being Drunk! How They Acted So Stupid Or Can't Remember What Happen Last Night! Its Ridiculous I Can't Believe That They Would Want To Drink So Much To Not Remember or To Act Stupid (Or Whatever Then Hell They Say I Don't Listen To Their Stupid Stories Half The Time). What If You Wake Up The Next Morning To Find Yourself Somewhere You've Never Were Before... All Because You Wanted To Let Looses, Get Drunk, To Act Stupid Or Something Along Those Lines.

I'm 16 and my older sister let me try a can of coors light
we both love the taste of it
As long as u don't get drunk, (and if ur over 21) there's absolutely nothing wrong with it!
Unless u have low self control, and if u have one drink u can't stop urself, and u get super drunk and do dumb stuff

I don't think there is anything wrong with alcohol. If people are taught how to drink responsibly and such. I think one of the reasons why people are irresponsible when it comes to alcohol, because it is restricted until we become 19 (in Ontario), or 21. So it's like people are just waiting to become that age to drink and once they do watch out! I know some families where they allow their children to enjoy a glass of wine at dinner or in social families, and because their parents are involved I find that they are more likely responsible drinkers.

People are going to drink, and people who excessively drink are going to act stupid. It's just what happens. People need to control their drinking habits so that they aren't so obnoxious. I agree that alcohol is one of the worst legal things around since it does cause a lot of deaths in the United States through drunk driving. I would much rather smoke a joint though. You don't hear much about that, but I understand the government will not legalize things that they have little control over, they know how much revenue would be lost by legalizing it. Well anyways that's my saying. I drink personally and definitely know my own personal limit when it comes to it. I like to be able to keep my own wits about me at all times so that I don't do something that I may regret later on in the future.

@Wynna ~ In Ontario drinking age is nineteen? I thought it was eighteen?

I personally think that alcohol is there to be enjoyed in a moderated way. It is to be tasted, not slung down your neck as quickly as you can. I enjoy alcohol for the taste, and not its effect, and when I do drink, I will only drink a maximum of two glasses - and that is only on special occasion, normally if I feel like a drink I will only have one glass.

I abhor 'alcopops', and love wines, especially a dry white or rose. I like full bodied, smoky reds, although I prefer white and rose to it. On occasion, I will drink whiskey and gin, although a minimal amount and never neat, I have my whiskey with cola or hot water, and my gin either with tonic or elderflower. I am also partial to the occasional lager, although not as fond of them as I am with wine.

I definitely do not think youngsters need alcohol. I myself am 18 and legally able to drink in the UK where I live, although others my age, younger, and even older disgust me with their antics. Alcohol for me is a social thing, but moderated and drunk together for respect of its taste. I have never been drunk, and never intend to be.

I have drank in the past and didn't really like it. I got really drunk one weekend, almost fell into a fire as well as blacked out at some point... so I decided I didn't like it anymore. It's gross anyways :/

My boyfriend though, I do need opinions on this so feel free to tell me whether it makes sense or not, says he hates alcohol but would drink wine all day and night. WTF is the difference? If you drink enough wine you will most definitely get drunk as well as if you drink a lot of alcohol.

Why does he think it's alright to take advantage of wine and not alcohol? Does anyone else feel that way? And does anyone think it makes sense... or does ANYONE know how to explain to me why it is so different.

Opinions are appreciated.

Yeah, I drink if I am going on a night out. I mean at my age and the ammount of pubs and clubs round here you would be mad not too really. Plus I only go out once every month. I do drink to excess then though but I have a fantastic time while I am at it so it doesn't bother me. Most other times we just go out for meals or to the cinema where you don't need drink to enjoy yourself. Though like I said if I am on a night out I will drink.
I do like alcohol yes, otherwise I wouldn't drink it. Though I will only take a vodka and redbull (that is the best concoction ever made) or alcopops because they are sweet and go down like juice. I don't like lager or whiskey or the likes so don't drink them. I will sometimes have wine with a meal but am really not a big wine hand, if then its only white I drink. Red wine is too thick and sweet for my liking.
I don't think youngsters need it to have a good time but it really depends on how young your talking. I mean when I was going to school parties as a teen, probably about fifteen/sixteen I would have a drink like everyone else there. To me that enhanced the night. It was more fun because all inhabitions were gone and I didn't care whether I looked like a spaz dancing or if my dress made my bum look big. Plus to me, underage drinking is sort of customery for teenagers. They have done it and will comntinue to do it. I suppose it depends on the person but I have no problem drinking as long as its not abused. Alcohol is a luxury that can make for some very good nights. I don't deny myself that one luxury every now and then and I am sure I'm not the only one who feels like this.

EDIT: if your boyfriend likes wine he likes alcohol. Wine is alcoholic. What did you drink anyway? Some drink is pretty foul stuff where as some tastes amazing depending on what you have.

Alcohol is just gross D:

And makes me feel gross. Not worth it I think.

I see. Oh well then, each to their own I suppose. I am an alcopop fiend I am afraid. Smirnoff Ice has to be the best, you can not beat Vodka and bitter lemon. I did used to love this orange one called Reef, it was really tropical and tasted exactly like fruit juice. They stopped making that one now though. That was actually what my underage drinking was x3
