Jack smirked, "yeah, it gets boreing for guys too." he said as he leand back. "and it makes us feel like cloans since we all look alike. When we where back at the base just starting out the captains would even mix up our names since we all looked alike and it annoyed the crap out of us. But after a while you learned your place and they learned your name." he said as he looked at her.

Maggie sniffed indignantly. "Learned your place. More like learned the place they want you to be in. That is not always your place. I know my place, but they'd like to tell me otherwise. Do you really know where your place is Jack?" She looked at him seriously.

Jack sighed and shook his head. "no, I have no idea where I belong beisdes here since I have been in the navy all my life." he said and hten looked up. "but I always feel like I should be out in the world somewhere, I have no idea where but there is a place for me. I just have to find it." he said softly as he thought of all the places he had heard aobut over the years.

Maggie nodded and started walking around the cell. "There aren't many people that are lucky enough to find it early, let alone at all. But I don't see how you can find it while being tied down as you are now. It's a different story entirely if you enjoy it."

Jack sighed, "this is the only life I have known so of course I enjoy it." he said softly but he enjoyed listening and telling storys more then this. That was why he talked to pirates, eh liked hearing htere tales and what that have seen and done over there years on the sea. He would leave but he just didn't know if he wanted to just yet. This was the only life he had ever known so it was kind of hard for him to leave it.l

Maggie turned around and walked back over to him and pointed right at his face. "That's not enjoyment, that's comfort. You're afraid to step out of your comfort zone to try something new, even if it will bring you happiness." She smirked at him. "For such a brave man, you're a coward."

Jack smirked and looked at her in the eyes, "yes, I am in a way but I have no idea how else to live. You have lived as a pirate and as a normal person. You know things, I only know navy life." he said and then leand back on his barrel, "but I am going to leave one day and it will be soon." he said and then heard someone yell that they where getting closer to the base. Jack then got up, "looks like we made better tiem then I thought." he said then looked at her, "now tell me, would you like to leave your comfrot zone when you feel that when you did you wouldn't be able to come back? would you leave it or try to enjoy it a little while longer?" he asked and then headed out of there. that part was true, he was scared to leave it and he always felt that when he did leave he would never be able to come back.

Maggie watched him leave. She wispered to herself. "I'm prepared to die if you can really catch me. I won't live in a cage." It was a shame to see such a lively soul being couped up like he was... But she didn't have the time to save him right now. But he would follow her, that she was sure of. Whether it was to catch her or because she would lead him where he wanted to be. She became even more determined to escape now.

Jack sighed as he got onto the deck and saw them coming to port right now. He could see some of the navy men where posted everywhere since they wanted to make sure that none of the pirates excaped. Jack then sighed more as they docked and the one guy came on. "good work, where is the captain?" he asked, Jack looked at him, "here, sir, I took comand when he died, sir." he said and the man nodded. "now lets see who you got down in your ship." he said and leadn the way down to the prisonsers. Jack hated this guy since he thougth he was better then everyone and could do what ever he was just because his father had put him incharge of the whole navy. This guy knew nothing about the navy and just did as he pleased. When the man saw Maggie he smiled, "arent' you cute." he said.

Maggie looked at the man that came in. She smiled sweetly at him when he said that she was cute. His type made her sick but she was going to play along. Better that they underestimate her. "My I'm honored that they'd send someone like you to bring me in." She new there would be people stationed to pick them up. But it wouldn't be the hardened sea men but the soft rich kids. And if this many was any example then it would be easy to scatter into the city. Now she just needed a diversion. She smiled at the man.

The man smiled at her, "well at least she has manors." he said as he got closer to her and smiled, "so you must be the captain of this crew, I think I will have to teach you a leason myself." he said and Jack frowned. He knew what this guy did when he foudn Girl pirates, he took them into his room, raped them over and over again till they couldnt think anymore and then killed them in public while they where still naked. Jack didn't want that for maggie here, she deserved better and he didnt want that for her. He looked at her sadly as the man smiled at her, "by the way the name is Bradly." he said as he looked at her and you could see the lust in his eyes.

Maggie smile seductively. Hook, line, and sinker. Everybody knew this man's M.O. Maybe she would wait till he had her in his room. She could make her move then with less soldiers to deal with. She winked at Jack knowing that Bradly would think it was for him. "Well, I was taught to know when I'm beat. But I'd hate to go out without a little fun."

Bradly smiled at her, "good, now come with me and you will get what you deserve." he saida s he opened her cell and then grabed her by the arm and started ot pull her out of there. Jack sighed when he had saw the wink and wondered if she knew what she was getting into. But she was a pirate and she knew best so he would let her be. If she looked like she needed help he would help. Bradly smield and dragged her out of there and headed towards navy base.

Maggie let Bradly pull her along. She purposely pressed her hip to his every once in a while. "I trust that My men will have a good time too? Might as well have a night of drinks with your boys. They'll be locked up so what could it hurt to have a last drink? I know I like drinks." She rubbed his arm enticely. She could drink like a fish and still not get drunk. She also knew that if her men were to have alcohol then the guards would want some too.

Bradly thought this over but it was kind of hard with ehr brushing her hips agenst his. "that sounds reasonable" he said as he lead them out of there. He then looked at Jack, "bring her men up and drinks, they shoudl enjoy there last day alive." he said as he lead Maggie out of there. Jack sighed and watched them go before ordering people to get barrels of beer and rume beofre heading down and unlocking the prison, "drinks." he said as he looked at htem.

Maggie followed Bradly out. Playing the whore made her sick, but it was her ticket out. She played it up all the way to the Base. It was her luck that it was getting dark fast. Maggie got Bradly into talking about himself. She knew it was his favorite subject and it would keep his mind off of anything else.

The men followed John out and grumbled hesitant thanks to him. When they got to the brig and the drinks came they drank a few and then started playing dinking games. Coaking the gaurds into playing and wagering. This went on for the rest of the night in the brig.

Bradly smiled and talked and tlaked aobut himself till the cows came home. He loved this and he was going to love her like no tomorrow. He wondered if the men on jacks ship rappe dher at all on the way. But by the look they hadn't which was fine with him. When they got to his room and quickly pulled her inside and pinned her ot the door. "your mine now." he said and kissed her hard.

As they drank jack had none and just watche.d Everyone was just aobut drunk exept for the smart ones and when he thought that none of the navy men where sober enough to know what was going on he yelled, "all pirates come with me, I have a surprise for you."

Maggie kissed him hard and pulled the dagger she secretly kept under her shirt. She held the back of his head and kept her lips tight to his so he couldn't scream and she stabbed him repeatedly until he hung loosely from her arms. She then dragged him to the bed and tucked him in so it looked like he was sleeping. She felt no remorse for his death. More like she thought she was doing womenkind a favor. Even the Navy. He was a weakness for them anyway. She went over to his amoire and took out a simple uniform. She changed into it and tied her hair up, tucking it under a cap. She then climbed out the window using the shrubs and shadows as cover. She creeped to the nearest storage shed and hid out until the gaurd shift change. When the coast was clear she snuck out into the city. She headed to the nearest brothel and hid out in their back room. Brothels always had a don't ask don't tell mindset. She would rest for the night here and then set out for the safe spot early in the morning.

The men looked around at each other. They didn't know whether to trust John but it looked as if he would be their ticket out. So they followed him out of the cells. He hadn't called for more officers and Maggie had seen something in him. So they would go along with it for now.

Jack smiled when they all followed him and crept in the shadows. He knew everything about hte navy and knew which ways to turn and when to hide. He soon took them to the exit and looked at them, "get out of here before they find out that your gone, I am sure your captain is already out of here." he said as he looked at them.

The men scattered into the city. Some of them patted him on the back. Even if it was a ruse they were still free for now. They individually went to seprate areas of the city, some of them leaving entirely. They had a month to meet up at the safe house in a port town just south of this city.

Maggie lay in the back room against a bag of grain and thought about everything that had happened. Her mind kept going back to John. She knew her men could get out of jail on their own. She had to have faith in that. She had promised her father that if they had ever gotten caught she would get out. But it didn't stop the guilt. If they never showed up at the safe house what would she do? She would probably feel too guilty to captain again... but she knew she would always be traveling. She shook her head. It was no use to think about that until it happened. Nothing in this world was certain. But john's face kept floating back into her mind. She wondered what he would do now. When they find out that she had escaped he probably wouldn't become captain... Maybe that would push him to come after her. That would be fun. She smiled to herself as she fell asleep.

Jack watched them go and sighed slightly. He then started to make his way back to his boat when he was tackled by a few navy officers who had been on duty. "what is going on." he growled at they cuffed his hands. The one came up to him, "someone told us that you helped let the prisoners escaped. That isnt' good and you know the punishment." he said as the two behind him started to shove him towards the jail cell. Jack growled at them and they only just laughed as they shoved him inside, "we will see you tomorrow for your exicution." the one said before they all left. Jack smirked as he sat there and knew that he should ahve doubled check to make sure everyone had been drunk enough. But no and now he was going to die. Jack smirked, at least Maggie was out and safe. He then leand agenst the wall and fell asleep till morning. The other navy officers sent out word to the town that there was going to be only one person killed tomorrow and it was a navy officer.

When Maggie woke early the next day she found that there was a huge buzz going around. She stopped one of the women that was working at the Brothel and asked her what all the fuss was about. "They're going to have an execution... They said it was a Navy Officer." She said with wide eyes. Maggie's heart dropped to her stomach. John...It had to be him. Maybe they thought he killed Bradly. People had seen them talking in the ship. Maybe some one thought he had tried to save her. She cursed. She had to do something for him. But what? Now that they thought he was the culprit, he'd be heavily gaurded. Then she remembered that she was dressed like an officer. She borrowed some makeup from one of the girls and dumbed down her features, making her look more like a young lad rather then a girl. She tied her breasts down so she had a flat chest and grabbed a musket, daggers and a sword from the Brothel's secret store room. She then headed nonchelauntly into the Navy base. She headed down to the brig and waited for the shift change. Since most of the men were hung over from the night before she explained in as gruff a voice as she could manage that the higherups had assigned her there to make sure the prisoner didn't escape.

John was laying on the floor now with his hands behind his head and looking up at hte cealing, waiting for death. For some odd reason he didn't really fear it and had a smile on his face. IN the morhing they had made him change into ragged clothing to suit what he had done. He hadn't cared and now he felt happy as hell. He felt free for the first time in a while and the men around his cell all growled when they heard him chuckling. One turned and looked at him, "what the hell are you laughing about, your going to die." he growled and John stopped and looked at him. "because what fun is dieing if you cant laugh?" he asked in all seriousness and they all just looked at him. JOhn then smiled, "have fun with everything that you do and then life feel so much better, wished I learned that sooner rather then now." he said and started to laugh again. The one guy just shook his head, "the man lost his mind." he said softly and waited for the next person to take his shift. They had been listening to JOhns mindless talk for a while now and all that they could say was tha the was crazed. But in truth JOhns mind couldn't have been more clearer.

During shift change she heard grumbling about how John had lost his mind. She wondered if he was raving, but when she got to his cell with the others she saw him laughing. She looked around at the unsure and irritated faces of the others and decided to play her part. She kicked the cell bars and acted angry. "What the hell're you laughin' at?" She noticed that her men were gone. Maybe he was being sentenced because she and they had gotten away when he was in charge of them?

John stopped laughing and looked at her, "because what fun is death if you cant laugh?" he said as he started to chuckle again. He seemed to much more cheerfull now that he was on death row that it was werid. He stayed on the floor and smiled even wider as he chuckled more, "laughing makes everythign better and I cant help but laugh because I am free. Free to do as I please and not get punished. I can be myself even though it is only for a short time and I am going to enjoy every bit of it and fill it with laughter." he said and started to laugh again. He was free and yet he was trapped, but free enough to do what he wanted and all he wanted was to have fun for his last few hours of life. One of the navy men sighed and shook his head. he then looked at Maggie, "same answer he has given us. I think he is just plain crazed, after we lcoked him up for setting those pirates lose he has been like this. I wonder if the pirates have done something to him or if he just finally lost." he said as he looked at the young man.
