Well first and formost I would payoff my student loans. Then I would pay off all my parent's debts, send my little brother to college, buy my mom the jeep she's always wanted as well as that house in the mountains, and I would buy my dad a house on the beach like he always talked about.
Then I would help my boyfriend start up his dream lawfirm. Put money away for a big beautiful wedding. Be able to work as a full time Artist and open up a coffee shop.

@estrella - what kind of book are you thinking of writing?

Hehe these are books which have impacted me quite a bit. The first one (politics) while it was an earlier edition I read, was my introduction to academic political text. I found and still find the writing style and work by Andrew Heywood to be highly impressive. Even if initially it was a bit of a shock to the system trying to adjust. Haha I am not going to lie for a while I worried I would never understand his writing. It felt so amazing when I began to make sense of it!
The other writer is my favourite lecturer from Massey University. I have attended two of his classes and a few of his seminars. He played a huge role in getting me hooked on anthropology as he is an extremely passionate lecturer. Prior to taking my first anthropology class with him I was fairly dismissive of the field, after it I was all but converted!
There are of course other books, lecturers and writers etc whom I have been greatly influenced by.

I would buy a great deal of land somewhere warm and create a big cat rescue/ a rescue for exotics that other places can't handle. I would also use the money to build my own concert venue and do a lot of charity shows. I would also go to countries that need medical care and supplies and help with that.
I personally don't really want or need anything much. I'm quite a simple person.

I would make sure my parents and my fiances parents were set for life. I'd give money to all my siblings. I'd give a lot to my best friend who is a single parent. And I'd pay for the best japanese, driving and violin lessons. Then I'd take my fiance and his best friend (who is like my best friend too) and go live in Japan :) we'd have a huge house with lots of animals. And I'd donate millions to animal charities.

This dream would be a bit frightening for a children's book. But it might make good preteen book like the Goosebumps were. <3
And yes, I'm actually almost to a bachelor's degree and then I hope to get into the pharmacy program. But we'll see if I get into right away. It's a really tough program to get into. D: I think I should be okay. I've managed As and Bs for awhile now.

I would buy my dream house and immeditally set up my own private library inside.
Buy my mom her dream house.
Travel to Japan for a month.
Pay for my step-sister's college. And set up a college fund for my half-sister.
I would buy a small building in town and start a fabric busness. I would pay for people to come in and teach crafting classes.
I would put enough money away that I could live comfortably for the rest of my life but still work. And start a traveling fund for whenever I want to go away.
I would give myself one spending spree on Amazon.
Then with the rest of the money I would give my family a nice sum. So that all the adults could pay off their bills and buy their homes. And I would give each of the kids a thousand dollars to spend on whatever they wanted.
And the rest of the money I would donate to libraries, schools, and charities I liked.

I'd let everyone in my family live very comfortably.
Pay off all of our debts, go traveling, and buy everything we ever wanted.
Maybe an icecream shop. I mean, who doesn't love icecream?
And a candy store.

@ angel4party - d'aww... buying things for yourself feels great! ^^
but i also love when my honey buys me things! hehe.
@ PaintedApple - i'd want to buy my parents all the things i've wanted to buy them since i was a little kid. lol! that coffee shop sounds amazing, by the way. mmm.
@ reddeath26 - the only books i've read to completely move and inspire me like that were the mitch albom books; which inspired me to be a better person and to live life to the fullest. and credit can also be given to anne rice, she makes me want to major in english and become a crazy writer! ^^ she's simply amazing.
@ Mystic - i'm sure you'd at least want a home that is paid off? and the land for a pet haven sounds great! my boyfriend and i want to do something like that also! ^^
we just has no monies! D<
@ Midian - it's really sweet that you would take care of you fiances parents too! ^^ japan sounds amaziiiing!
@estrelle - well, we'd have to make it less graphic maybe? i don't know. my brain is mushy right now! D:
@Lilith W - i think you're one of the first to mention giving money to libraries. kudos!!! ^^
@ hitachin - that's just down right evil!! >D
@kacie ily - make it like german ice cream.. it so yummy and it's as heavy with cream so it doesn't hit your stomach like a rock! ^^

I don't think i'd want all the money in the world. That's an awful lot of responsibility. Not to speak of the economic ruin that would bring upon the world, thrusting us into an age of anarchy and lawlessness. ... But perhaps i'm over thinking this.
So let's say that I had a sizable amount of money. I would make sure that myself and my family were financially comfortable for the rest of out lives. That would make me happy. They say money can't buy happiness, but you know that was only said to placate those of us who don't have any. :P

That's a lot of money to spend. First off, I would make sure my parent's debt was paid off and take care of them. My mother always wanted to go to Italy but with our current financial situation and her poor health that is near impossible. I would pour a lot of the money into cancer societies and research so I know my aunt's death wasn't in vain. When it came down to me, I'd spend the money on a house, that I could pay off right then and there, I would help sponsor art programs in schools because cutting them out of the budget is the worst idea I have ever heard. I would then be able to pay for my and my sister's college tuition. The rest of the money I would save for a cause of my choosing.

eh... i dunno, cause i sometimes feel like i already have enough money to last me until 91... and i already do lots of stuff with it, since i was raised as the rich child in a nice place. and my dad's always wanting me to do something good with the my allowance(which is 200 a month, ppls, but my big bro gets 300. no fair) instead of hosting house parties and shopping, but mostly i would first open up a japanese curry place ^_^ i <3 curry ♫!! and then open up a mall and then become a famous fashion designer and then donate some of my money to charity!! cause i dont want to end up as one of those snobby rich people who dont care for anyone but themselves. (my mom's already helping my out on the opening a little store thingy ^_^)

@mau5ie- I've always loved to read and it is an important part of my life. I don't want to see reading become a thing of the past so I would want to help libraries any way I could. I think it would be wonderful to help libraries because then in extention it would help schools.
New computers, books, guest speakers.
I already donate books but I would love to donate even more.

Well taking that I am homeless right now, the first thing I would do is buy a couple of houses. Buy not mortgage...there is a big difference. I would buy myself a nice three bedroom house so that I would have guest rooms for family and friends. Then I would by my family a nice 4-5 bedroom. A house with enough rooms to accommodate my entire family and have a room for a guest (my niece and nephew to stay in).
Then after that, I would donate half of whatever I had to the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR) because I know what it is to be without a place to call home. Then I would go to college and get my degree in International Relations with a emphasis in Refugees. So that I can become a Humanitarian Aid Worker and go to work for UNHCR. Along with that I would also get a medical degree of some sort so that I could be more affective in the field. I would also buy a small house in Japan and Ireland (2 rooms) for my family and I to use for vacations. That would be my happy splurge. The rest would go in the bank with a few investments made in stocks and mutual funds and some bonds would also be bought. ^_^

It's myself and my family that are homeless...lucky enough we have a mailing address. Right now we are living at a Red Roof Inn...and have been for almost three weeks. We are trying to save for a place and may qualify for a Habitat house...~crosses finger~ I have an older sister who is doing as much as she can to help out...so I am lucky. We have a support system going. It could be worse I always say. And thank you for the thoughts and prayers...and yeah I do have some good, well thought ideas lol. Take care friend. ^_^
