The scream scared Luckett so badly he nearly fell in the shower as he groped around for the nearest towel, the same ice blue eyes of his wolf form huge, "Oh, god." He muttered when he realized what was happening. She was going to be so pissed. He doubted she'd allow him to stay from now on.

As soon as he had himself covered he raised his hands, showing he wasn't going to hurt her, eyes apologetic. "Sorry! Sorry. I'm sorry!" He cried, staying still. He just knew she was going to kick him out and he'd be caught.

Emma had backed up into the door, the door handle jabbing into her back. "W-Who a-are you?!" She yelled as this naked man started towards her. His eyes were startling, they looked like Lucky's. "What did you do with my dog?!" She yelled at him. She moved from the bathroom and into her bedroom, scared that this man had killed Lucky. Fear and worry built up inside her, her bright green eyes filling with tears at the thought of losing Lucky.

Luckett came to an abrupt halt, letting his hands fall to his sides, "Nothing. I didn't do a thing to your dog." He felt honored that Emma was beginning to show signs she would cry at the thought that he'd hurt the dog he'd grown accustomed to. He paused before looking directly at her, "I am your dog, Emma." Another pause while he shifted just enough she'd see the white fur then shifted back human. "Give me a chance to explain myself, just don't call the police, please. That would result in my death and yours."

He didn't give her a chance to decide before he jumped into explaining himself. "We've met before, when my duty was to kill certain people. You were so young you probably didn't know but I was supposed to kill you. I was at the door expecting my target to be old, 40's kind of old but you were so young that I turned my back on them. I've been running from those people ever since. The night before you adopted me from the pound I'd gotten very drunk and shifted to my wolf form. Animal control caught me and you adopted me." He rubbed his face, "Look, I'm sorry, if you'll allow me to stay I'll shift back and never shift again. I'll be your dog willingly, you're a good owner."

Emma stared at the man in front of her. She couldn't believe it. He WAS her dog. What the hell was going on. Her body became numb and she sank to the floor. His words hit her like a ton of bricks. She DID remember that night. She looked up at him, his face looking the same it did all those years ago. She started crying, not so much because she was scared, but because she was relieved that Lucky was dead. His last words got to her, he said she was a good owner.

"So..all this time.. you were a man?" She said, her face still wet with tears. She was in shock, he had just told her this crazy story that she should believe but she did. It was his eyes, the eyes of her dog. "I...I won't make you do that. You can stay. I'm crazy for doing this, but...you have been the best thing in my life." She said, hanging her head.

Luckett watched her with concern as she sat on the floor but became nervous when she started crying. He scratched at his chin, "Um.." He wasn't sure what to do so was thankful when she asked about him, "Yeah. It's difficult. I have more of wolf instincts than dog."

With a sigh he sat down next to her, tucking the towel down so she wouldn't see anything, "Well to be honest, you're the only thing in my life." He said. Then deciding a subject change would be good, not least in the form of a stupid question he asked, "Did you know, out of millions of people I've met and walked past you're the only person who has a distinct smell?" After a pause he looked at her, "You smell like fresh cut pine."

Emma looked up at him, her green eyes shining with tears still. Looking at him, she saw that he wasn't bad looking. She felt weird thinking that, he was her dog. Yet, he wasn't a wolf, he was a man. He just happen to be that wolf that stole her heart when she saw him at the pound. She wondered if he would still steal her heart, that thought making her blush a little.

At his comment about her scent, she smiled a little laugh escaping her lips. "I smell like fresh cut pine?" She said, smiling up at him. She started to get up, reaching out to him to use as leverage. "Come on, let's find you something to wear. I can't have you running around here naked." She said. She blushed at the contact she had created between them.

As Emma looked at him the man couldn't help but begin to smile at her. Now that he was human he was truly able to appreciate her form. She was a beautiful woman and truly kind. He could see that when she was willing to bring a creature like him in her house and let him stay after she'd discovered his deception.

"It's the best smell in the world." He responded to her before standing after she did. With a sigh he finally worked himself up to warning her, "On full moons I shift to my wolf form. Will you be alright with being a part time owner?"

Em smiled again at his comment, for whatever reason it made her feel good. She liked when he was sweet like that to her. She moved away from him after she had stood on her own two feet again. She felt shaky on them, but she could stand. She had some old clothes of an ex boyfriend still in her closet, why she kept them she had no idea but she was glad she had. At his comment she looked over at him.

"Oh, I think I can handle that. " There were a lot of questions she wanted to ask him, but she didn't want to do it while he wore only a towel. She went to her closet, digging around until she found the old clothes. It was just a pair of jeans, a white tank top and a pair of boxers. She had washed them recently because she just kept clothes cleaned. Taking the clothes over to him she held them out to him. "Here, you are about the size of my ex-boyfriend, so I think these will fit you." She said, looking down, trying not look at him. "I have some questions for you, so after you change, come to the living room." She said softly, leaving him to change.

Luckett followed her and took the clothes. He honestly wasn't happy about the tank top. He much preferred t-shirts. As she spoke to him he frowned slightly. She had questions. It didn't sound good. Maybe her final descision in letting him stay hadn't been made yet. He didn't know so quickly he dressed and walked into the living room. "Emma?" he asked as he walked out.
