Lexi replied to the voice "I'm Alexandria Night... and you are?"

Hermionie. Hermionie Granger. Pleasure to meet you. What year are you at hogwwarts?

Lexi smiled as she faced Hermione. "This is actually my first year" She was facing Hermione but not looking at her it seemed. "I'm hoping to get onto a quidditch team there. My father told me 1st years don't usually get onto the team but I'm not the kind to go with the odds" she smiled at the bushy haired witch.

"Well, good luck." Hermionie said. But really she was thinking that no first year had been on the hogwarts quittich team in a century, as it said in 'hogwarts, a histery'. Hermionie smiled and pulled a book from her bag; her favorite. It was the book of spells.

Alex heard the specific rustling of a book and smiled "What book is that you are reading?" Sooner or later someone woul pick up that she was blind but right now unless you looked directly into her eyes to see pale colored eyes you would never know. Even then you might not know.

hermionie shows lexi the cover, unkowing of her condition. "It's my favorite one of this year." Hermionie said simply

Lexi smiled "Um... what book is it" She put her hand forward and felt the slightly raised letters. "Oh a spell book" She smiled "I love to learn new spells"

As the conversation was rolling along, a visitor poked inside of the compartment. It was another young lady, looking not quite as confused as some of the other students Neville had seen today. She introduced herself as Alice Mayfield. Neville stood up and introduced himself. "I-I-I'm N-N-Neville. N-Neville Longbottom. H-Have you found my toad?"

Alice's polite smile did not waver for an instant, though inwardly she was a bit taken aback by the stutter and the nervousness. Goodness, she thought, what was it about British boys that made them so... not smooth. At least they weren't all Mama's boys, like the Japanese boys she remembered from her childhood.

"Er, no, I haven't seen your toad," Alice replied. "Maybe it escaped down the corridor?" She gestured vaguely to her right.

She glanced behind Neville to see the full compartment: a bushy-haired girl holding a book, a girl who had just introduced herself as Alexandria Night, and someone lying on the floor in a rather resigned manner.

As Alice didn't want to interrupt the conversation between the two talking about books, she squeezed past Neville and bent over the girl on the floor.

"Want a hand up?" she asked.

"Me too... er..." Hermionies face suddenly has a look of recognition on it. "Excuse me, but... are you... you know...?"

Lexi replied "Am I blind" she nodded "yep blind as a bat as the saying goes. People say I'm crazy as one too because I fly on a broom. It's different when I'm on one though. I would have brought my Stratus with me but first years aren't allowed to bring their own brooms" she seemed to be a bit talkative but she enjoyed talking to people. "So what year are you?"

"This is my first year also." Hermionie replied with a smile. She could now recognize the murkiness in Lexi's eys. But hermionie liked lexi's personality as well. She was talkitive, and loved to read just like her. Had a friendship blossomed.

Lexi smiled "Hopefully we get to be roommates" she pulled out her wand again which still had traces of her mistaken spell from earlier. The brimstone smell mostly.

"We will be if we are in the same house. That would be fun!." Hermionie agreed, and then wrinkled her nose. "What happened with your wand?"

Lexi replied "I tried a Luminos spell. Why would a blind girl need one you ask... well a Luminos spell can be for more then just lighting up a room." Alex her Barn owl squawked after she said that and Lexi replied "I know girl I'm sorry" she gave her a quick rub under her left wing. "Yeah I like to learn spells and people help me with the motions for the spells but I don't always get it right at first" The smell got to her nose again as she quickly flicked her wand to try to get the smell away.

Sorry, but a lot of people are going to be gone over the weekend. So the RP is officially frozen untill monday... Feel free to post in the OOC thread, but please not here. Thanks!

"Oh, that is interesting." Hermionie said genuanly. Suddenly, she glanced outside and saw the passing scenery. "Oh!" Hermionie screetched. "We have to get changed into our robes!" She quickly pulled on her robes as the looming castle appeared.

Lexi remembering where she had placed her bags stood up placing her barn owl in it's cage and fastened it. She then quickly felt inside her clothing bag for her robes and found them and pulled out one and slipped it on. She sat back down by Hermione "So I heard from my father that first years have to ride a boat across the lake... is that true... and is it true there is a monster in the lake?" She pocketed her wand making sure she could have easy and quick access to it.

Hermionie sure tone faltered, and a little bit of her scare showed through. "I, I hope not. I don't think so..."

Lexi replied "Oh that's right you said you were a 1st year... I'm sure my dad was kidding" she laughed "At least I think he was" her tone changed as she said that.

"I doubt it." Hermionie's know-it-all tone reappeared. Suddenly the train pulled into the station. Everyone was at hogwarts.
