"I...guess so..." the redhead swallowed hard, looking into Genesis' eyes to try and see what he was thinking, planning. Rhianwen gripped her pendant on impulse, trying to calm herself and focus on something other than the pirate captain before her. Cheeks bright as red wine, the young female squirmed. She wasn't.....scared, at least she didn't think so. She was a mix of anxious and curious.

The serpent king thought for a moment then he stood up and smiled softly then he walked to his chair. He realized had he stayed that close to her any longer he would have wanted to kiss her and wasn't sure if he would've been able to stop his self. Peering out of his window he called back to her, "The bed is yours if you'd like, I'll sleep on the lower deck with one of my crewmen." His eyes held a hint of some emotion that was hard to judge yet it was obviously there. Then as he stared out of the window he asked, "Is what pirates do so bad in your eyes? Have you looked at it from our prospective?" He was curious as to why she held such discontent at him and the group of people he led.

"I know some people are forced into unpleasant situations to stay alive and provide for themselves and others. I think it depends on the reasons, the individual. I just don't approve when you harm an innoccent life, who held no grudge against you. Some people go into bad things, but for good reasons. You have yet to provide me with a valid reason and explination for why you attacked my most recent home....the town of peaceful fishermen and women..." Rhianwen sat on the floor in a corner she claimed for herself. "I'm not sleepy."

His eyes found themselves drawn to the floor as he thought about the explanation he was about to give, "When I was a teen, I was imprisoned for the death of my parents which I didn't commit. I was set up at the trial as the judge would not listen to logic or reason but I... was young and afraid." Looking down at his hands he saw them trembling but continued as if nothing was wrong, "So instead of going to prison and waiting to be executed for a crime I didn't commit I chose to run." His shimmering emerald eyes seemed to lose their gleam as he explained his story to Rhianwen. "I ran for a long time until I came to the ocean, it was the first time I had seen something so beautiful, coming from an inland town, and it seemed like a freedom from this persecution that I was subject to. So I hopped on a small ship and sailed away, not knowing that it belonged to a band of pirates. The rest is history as they say..." There was more to the story for him to tell but he wasn't ready to tell her all of that just yet. She didn't trust him and he wasn't going to give her his whole story until he had gained her entire trust.

Rhianwen sighed, biting her lower lip. She sensed there was more he was not telling, but she wouldn't push it. Tentatively the red head sat about half a foot from the captain, glancing over at the admitedly good looking male. Pausing for a few moments, her soft alto voice sounded once more. "D-do you know who did kill your parents? Do you know why they blamed you?" Rhianwen looked over at Genesis with a hint of empathy in her teal gaze.

Looking up over at the woman he found to be quite attractive he shook his head in silence. He had no idea who had murdered his parents but at this point in time he wasn't sure he wanted to know, "I know it was no pirate, but honestly I'm not sure I need to know anymore. Sure I spent a few years trying to find out but all I could deduct was that the crime was intentionally pinned on me. Even though all the evidence showed there was no way possible for me to have done it." His voice was steady and soft but he still found it a bit difficult to hold his composer. His emerald eyes had found their sparkle once more as he stared into the teal eyes of the redhead. He was hoping she would at least not be so judgemental towards him for a time being, talking about his past was difficult although he understood it was no simpler for people who went through similar situations.

Rhianwen bit her lower lip, feeling somewhat...sorry for making his kindness, his time with her difficult. Oddly, the traumatized female scooted slowly closer. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, she let instinct and her natural impulse take over before she could changer her mind.
Rhianwen did the only thing she could think of doing for a hurt person.
She hugged him.
Hugging the captain, the female held Genesis in an akward, shy hold. But it was a hug nonetheless.

Genesis was a bit shocked that she had come and hugged him, in fact, he wasn't really sure what he should do. Slowly he wrapped his arms around her wanting that comfort that he had been missing all this time. He had never really been attracted to anyone until now and it was a bit odd to him that he had never felt like this before. His body trembled slightly but not out of fear more because of this... anxiety that was sending urges through his body as he tried to control himself. He wanted o badly to kiss her figured that they hadn't known each other long enough for him to have such an urge. Finally calming himself the trembling stopped he broke the awkward embrace between the two of them and looked back out of the window. Then out of curiosity he asked, "What made you do that?"

"You were unhappy...and..well...you erm...seemed troubled. Unless I'm mistaken, people often like to be comforted when they are feeling sad or distressed, and...well...hugging seems to make people feel better....Maybe I should not do that..?" asked the female, wondering why he was staring so intently before looking out the window. Scooting back till they were half a foot appart once more, Rhianwen sat in silence, pulling the gem out of her shirt and toying with it, trying to make her cheeks not heat up any more.

"No... umm... T-Thank you. I suppose I needed that more than I realized," he answered in the same soft tone as before. Then looking back at Rhianwen he smiled gently then asked, "So again I must ask you, may I call you Rhia from now on? As I said before Rhianwen is something I would prefer not to have to say too often milady." Reaching over to her with his long arms he stroked her cheek gently while looking at her with the shimmering emeralds that he had for eyes. He was back to teasing her again, but part of him was indeed sincere. She seemed worthy of his time and maybe a bit of his affection but not quite all of it as of now. He liked how she looked when she was flustered so he thoroughly enjoyed making her that way.

"Why do you want to call me Rhia?" the redhead asked, blinking as she stared into those deep, perfect emerald eyes of his.
In truth, part of her was ready to say he could go ahead and call her anything he wanted, but she surpressed it. As Genesis drew closer again, she tensed, growing stiff and cold the instant his hand made contact with her cheek. On imppulse, Rhianwen lifted her hand to swat his hand away from her, pushing it aside as she scooted back. And much to her annoyance, she was blushing bright rosey pink....again.

Smiling gently he replied, "As I said before saying your full name is somewhat of a hassle I'd rather not go through I do hope you understand. Oh and you may call me Gen if you wish, I suppose it would be impolite for me to ask to call you by a nickname and not give you the same grace." His words flowed from his lips like a soft melody in the wind. He calm facial expression changed to a somewhat shocked and almost hurt but he hid the last part. He was enjoying simply being able to make her blush but he figured she had no idea what kind of influence she could have on him if she wished to. It had been a long time since someone was able to upset him over anything and yet when she judged him he was angry that she would do such a thing, almost as if she betrayed him. Yet there was no reason for him to feel that way... he had been judged many times before and never had he gotten upset like that. This was how he knew there was something special about her.

"D-don't touch...." Rhianwen shook her head once more, denying the both of them that little gesture. It had been a long time since anyone had been so gentle with her, but she had come to distrust such obvious displays of emotion. The redhead felt her spine tingle, a shiver run through her as he tried to touch her and as his voice carried, teasing and exciting in her ears.
Heart racing, Rhianwen tried to remain nuetral. Why did she have the desire, the wish to trust him? Very few people nowdays earned Rhianwen's trust.

She could almost taste the akward, tense silence in the air. Nodding, the young woman hesitantly spoke once again. "I.....supposse it''s allright...."

Pulling his hand back to his lap he intertwined his fingers so that he could keep his urges in check, "I'm sorry... I meant no offense." His voice was low and sincere and he intended to make sure he didn't touch her again. Then he nodded to signify that he had understood her last comment and wore a smile that was both joyful yet sorrowful at the same time. Over the years Genesis had become adept at mixing and matching emotions on a whim but the majority of the time he was faking. But for some reason when he was with this woman, this beautiful redheaded woman, he almost always sincere in what he was feeling at the time. It was interesting to him but he quickly snapped out of his light trance and remembering something Rhia had said earlier he asked, "Where did you live before moving to the port town?" He was curious as to where she was from, there weren't many redheads running around so she was a rarity.

"I lived all over. I was born and raised in the capitol city, where the king lives.....But I have been a wanderer for quite some time, stayin only a few months in each place." she admitted without thinking. Realizing she was giving away information, Rhianwen shook her head and looked away. "Nevermind.."
Lookin over at the sound of Gen's voice, Rhianwen noticed the still present...unhappiness? Discontent? Hurt?" she couldn't tell. It was easy to read those beautiful emerald hues, being one to hide her true feelings and thoughts herself.
"You are unhappy?" It was more a statement than a question.

"Why'd you stop?" he asked with a curious tone in his voice. She seemed like she was going to open up to him for a minute but then she decided against it. Genesis wondered why she didn't answer such a simple question it wasn't as if he had asked her if she was a virgin or not. He knew she didn't trust him and he was running out of things to ask. Letting his eyes fall to the floor he thought about the question she had asked, "No not unhappy just wondering why is it... that you shut me out? I... nevermind..." He had no plans on finishing that sentence it was obvious from his eyes.

"Because talking just gets you into trouble." the female replied simply, closing her eyes and letting out a sigh. "In lamest explanations, that sums it up." Rhia watched the captain with Teal eyes, looking into him to see what she could see. The man was alluring, intriguing, mysterious, and irritating. Why was this? The young woman was secretly lonely, wanting a friend, but having lost any and all former companions and forms of affection.

"How so milady? I don't believe talking to me would cause you any trouble what so ever." His eyes never left the floor, he wanted to look at her but found that he couldn't bring himself to. She was so guarded towards him that he felt that if he looked at her she would run away from him even more and that wasn't what he wanted. He liked her and wanted her to take down the walls that she had put up but he didn't know how to.

"I dunno, but it always happens.. I thought talking was fine with him too..." When she mentioned a specific person, the teal eyes flashed amber, pain and hatred visible for a second as her fingers curled into fists. Rhianwen looked at the ground, telling herself to forget it and not bring up such thoughts and worries that were pointless.
With a sigh, the female leaned back against her corner, closing her eyes slowly, watching Gen until the black met her vision.

The serpent king sat there in silence listening then he turned his attention to the window again and peered out of it seeing as the sky had turned black. Finally when he could hear the light breathing that was coming from across the room he turned to see a sleeping Rhia. His features grew gentle as a smile surfaced on his face and he walked over to her gently raising her into his arms and tucking her in his bed. He went back and sat on his chair and looked at her and all he could think about was how beautiful she looked. Then he slouched down in the chair throwing his hood over his head and crossing his legs as he allowed the darkness to claim him as well.

Sometime during the middle of the night, the redhead began to toss and turn, an ice cold sweat dampening now unusually pale skin. Shivering, Rhianwen clutched the fabric close to her, the covers being held as if they were railing to prevent a fall.
The female was lost in her subconscious at the moment, her lack of sleep finally letting her mind relax completely and not restrain itself.

Gen awoke to see Rhia tossing and turning then he got up and grabbed a rag to wipe her head as soon as she seemed to calm down a bit he went back to his chair and went to sleep.

He awoke to find a bright blue sky outside and the red headed woman still asleep. He smiled then walked out of the cabin and looked out at the ocean. It was another calm day just as yesterday was. It was a soothing feeling to him and it made him think of meeting the fiery woman as she ran on board his ship to challenge him and save her town. She was an interesting character that had woken up some part of him that had seemingly been dormant for quite a while.

Slowly,the young maiden cracked open her teal eyes as the sunlight streamed into the small window. Sitting up,shesurveyed her surroundings in confusion and slight trepidation before remembering where she was.
Oh yeah, a pirate ship.
She was stuck as a captive, a prisonor on the ship led by the serpent king, Genesis.
Come to think of it,his name and title seemed to ring a bell. He must be infamous.
Checking her state of dress ina manner of paranoia, Rhianwen sighed in relief. All seemed ok.

Remembering he forgot to put in his emerald earrings this morning, Genesis headed back to his cabin to do so. When he arrived he noticed that Rhia was awake and as he looked into her teal eyes he smiled and said, "Good morning milady, I hope you slept well." She looked as if she was disappointed by something this morning but he decided not to pry. Walking over to his dresser and opening the jewelry box he grabbed a pair of gold earrings accented with an emerald teardrop in each of them. Wasting no time he put the earrings on and then turned around announcing, "If you want breakfast just go below the main deck and follow your nose." And with that being said he walked back out of the room onto his usual spot on the quarterdeck.

"Um.......morning......." Rhianwen murmured, watching him carefully. She had to admit, he had good taste in jewelry.
Nodding, she stopped him before he left. "W-what am I to wear?" inquired the female, feeling rather akward about discussing clothes in front of a man. Hell, she felt kind of confused and uncertain when speaking at all and opening up to such an interesting, handsome man. Wait, she did not just think of him as handsome!
