Kana went ahead and walked fast enough until she was in front of them. She then turned slightly to the west and started walking. good thing I said something. For all we know humans could have laid traps. She now started to wonder if she was just a bit paranoid. "So...what's your story of how you became a vampire?" She knew that it was considered a personal question for vamps, but she didn't care.

" I was born this way." he said, shrugging. "Alot of people don't like to talk about it, but I'm a pure blood vampire. The purebloods usually aren't the bloodcrazed kind, so you don't have to worry." he added, figuring he might as well try.

((You got a shield :P and one of your dragons have come out of their egg^^))

Kana looked at Dezik strangely. "Wait. Vampires can be born born? I thought they could only be turned.....Though I guess I never actually studied a vampire or asked Vampires about their species anyway."

(Mhm. ^^ I'm glad.)

"yes, the purebloods are vampires that are born into being a vampire. Because we've had our lives being vampires we usually have better control over our blood cravings. There are a few exceptions, but not too many." Dezik smiled a small bit, at least she was being more sociable.

"What about yourself, hm?"

Kana looked at him. "I'm hoping you're not one of those exceptions." She then carefully thought about how to answer his question. "I'd have to say i was born human, but yet still not. Some angels are souls that have gone to heaven but choose to live on earth after they have died. I was one that was born as a human, and when I was still pretty small...my wings suddenly appeared. My human mother was appalled by it and I was dumped off into the forest near by. Luckily another angel was around. It was explained to me that really i had died before I was born, but for some reason my soul didn't go to rest."

"I've never heard of such a thing. that's truly interesting." Dezik commented. "And no, i am not one of the exceptions. I have exceptional control over my bloodlust. Like i sated earlier you need not worry. And if I do go crazy, feel free to set me in my place." He made a slightly polite bow, as though displaying that he was sincere.

Kana smirked some. "I'll keep that in mind. You probably haven't heard about it because you don't talk to humans that much...and really there isn't many angels on earth anymore due to the hunters. We're really unable to protect ourselves usually. There's very few that have special abilities anymore." She frowned some.

'It's a shame.. angels are supposed to be divine beings and hunters kill them for bounties anyway.. Sickening what humans have degraded themselves to.." Dezik muttered. "But I digress.. we should be out of the forest in a matter of minutes, thankfully it's still dark so we'll have the cover of night for at least a few more hours."

Kana nodded. "It is sad....Though I've heard stories of what hunters do to angels before they are killed..." She shivered some "Not pretty imagines." She nodded some and looked around. "So is it just a plain beyond this forest?"

"I've never been out of the forest, so I'm not sure, but most of the tales say it is a vast plain that stretches on for miles. I'm guessing you must have heard the same story I did." He shrugged. " We're about to find out." He said, as the last trees began to come into sight.

Kana laughed some. "Yeah, from the few sups that I did get to talk to while I was in that part of the forest." She was shocked that she was actually allowing herself to relax more and more around Dezik. This caused her to wonder if maybe he had some kind of vampiric charm or something. She'd always heard stories about vampires having special abilities. Once she stepped out of the trees, it was true that it was a plain, and it had no end in sight.

"I hope we'll come upon a small settlement of some kind, or at least wildlife.." he muttered under his breath, already concerned about food and shelter. "In the day we'll have to take shelter in some kind of shade.. if I stay in the sun too long it could kill me."

Kana nodded in agreement with him. She may have been an angel, but her body was still moral-ish and needed food every now and then. Though it would be inconvenient to have to find shelter all the time. She sighed some as an idea came to mind. "Eventually....and possibly only IF we can't find shade in the day time...I could keep you shaded from the sun with one of my wings....." It was clear in her voice that she didn't like the idea at all.

"I'd prefer not to have to do that because I'd be violating the wingspan rule but if necessary.." he shook his head. "Let's just keep going." Dezik continued forward, much preferring the grass to the trees. much easier to walk in without having to be careful of roots.

Kana couldn't help but smile at his response. "Good..." She then followed after him. She had honestly never been out of the forest since she had arrived in it. Kana took note of how much easier it was to walk, and figured that it would be great for running in too.

After a few hours the sun began to peek over the horizon. "We don't have much time.. we need to find cover and fast.." Dezik looked around, thinking he saw a town not too far from here.. but going into a town would be risky, and he wasn't even sure what it was..

"I see something over that way, A town, I think.. hopefully it's abandoned."

Kana looked over the way he did. She nodded some and started walking that way. "I hope it is too....if it's not we can try to deal with it..." There was clearly something else that she was thinking of but not telling Dezik.

Dezik made his way over quickly, and thankfully, it was abandoned. He quickly moved into the empty inn and had a seat in one of the chairs just as the sun began to peek over the horizon.

Kana decided to join him in the room rather than going into one all by herself. She made sure the curtains were closed so the sunlight wouldn't get in much if at all. "We can count this as a lucky finding" The little hotel room looked a bit run down because it was abandoned for awhile.

"Can't argue with that." he said, looking around the building. Some boards were out of place, the floor was in disrepair, the ceiling looked like it was leaky..

"We only need to wait until nightfall." he said with a short nod to her. " If you want to get your own room you can.. I doubt it's unsafe."

Kana nodded some. "Yeah...normally humans don't go into too many abandoned places...I'll see you when it's night again then." She walked out of the room and into one of her own.

Dezik felt himself drift off to sleep, the morning sun already having made him groggy. He hoped the angel would be able to get used to his unusual sleep schedule, because as long as he was around she would have to follow it.

It's better to travel at night anyway..

Kana paced around her room, though she had been awake most of the night she still felt like she couldn't sleep. Dang vampires anyway. I doubt I'll ever be able to get to sleep during the day.. She looked towards the door, wondering what there might be to do outside of this house. Though I have to admit that under the cover of the darkness is better for traveling in. It took a few hours but eventually Kana fell asleep.

Dezik woke up to the sound of the crickets, and he slowly made his way to the room that he suspected Kana was in, knocking as loudly as he could to wake her up. He ended up knocking the door down without meaning to..

"Oops.. Well, anyway, nightfall's come. we need to get moving." Dezik stepped ouside, suddenly noticing a strange orange glow with a gray haze in the distant sky.

"By the gods.. did they... " Dezik's head pointed down, his face despair. "They set fire to the forest..."

Kana awoke to the sound of the door falling on the floor. She had heard him knocking besides. Slowly she got up from the bed and followed him outside, her eyes widening when she say the flames in the distance. "I knew they would do this....i wonder how long it has been burning...if they set fire to it during the day than surely most of the vampire are dead but others would have been able to run from it...some would still be awake right now too."
