As he handed her the bread with a mock bow, she nibbled it away, eating both loaves before retaliating. If she were to react before eating her prize, it could be taken, but once in her stomach, well, there was very little he could do once she swallowed.
As soon as the food was well on it's way to her stomach, she glared at the captain, growling. "Try that again, I'll bite off your lips and tongue." she retorted, kicking him hard in the back of the shin. "Jackass."

As she was tied and tethered to the railing, she grew silent, save for an occassional growl and hiss. The sea was admittedly beautiful, and the breeze felt nice on her skin. The sun kissing her skin and hair made the girl smile. Rhianwen leaned against the railing, trying to get comfortable. It was hard to ignore the chains as they constantly rubbed the raw skin she got from twisting and squirming out of the ropes the previous night.

The kick had hurt, but Anthony'd had much worse. He could smile through that pain. Sitting on the crate, he kept a close eye on Rhianwen. He knew the instant he looked away, she would steer the ship off course or something. For the first time in all the time he'd known her, she was smiling. It was an odd expression on her face, which was so used to anger and pain. Anthony stared at her lips, trying to understand why it was so weird. He cleared his throat and blinked, and in that instant, it was gone. "Well, Wenny. Here you are. Slightly better treatment than the brigs, wouldn't you say?"

Rhianwen drifted off into thoughts of calm waters, peaceful grass, a lake, maybe a waterfall. Or by the sea in the tidepools or the foam of the shoreline, picking up pretty shells and watching the crabs scuttle about. Alas, her pleasant thoughts were rudely interrupted by the pirate captain with her.
Turning at the nickname he gave her, she quirked a brow, looking at the man as though he had sprouted another head. What had he called her?

"Yes...it is....And the name is Rhianwen...not Wenny or whatever the hell you called me." she muttered, looking back out in the hopes of ignoring and being free of the man, if only for a few moments.

[[I have to go to bed. Sorry.]]

Anthony nodded as though he were acknowledging her protest. He was, he just didn't care. He probably wouldn't call her by her real name for a while. "Hmmm," he said, looking out at the ocean, too. "Well, then I guess you can't complain for a while." He reached behind him and pulled out a bottle of brandy. He'd grown up on rum, but he found brandy tasted better. After taking a sip himself, he set the bottle on the ground and nudged it closer to Rhianwen with his toe. People had to drink to live. He'd only given her bread. He also pulled from another pocket a chunk of hard-tack and pushed that towards her, too. "Here," he said, so she would notice the food.

The sea always calmed Anthony down. He would come out on deck when the captain slept just to stare out at the darkened waves and subdue his feelings of killing his captain. Eventually, those thoughts went away.

((aww, ok, I have work tommorow, so I won't be back till about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes prior to what time it is now tommorow. Sleep well k?))

~~~~~~~~
While he seemed to be aknowledging her, she didn't think he was really listening to her. Dumb boy. Sighing, Rhianwen shrugged, aknowledging him with no words this time. Smelling the alchohol, she cringed, hating alchohol of any kind. As he offerred her some, she blinked, then gave in. She hated it, buit she was thirsty, and who knew when he'd gie her anything else. Drinking a generous swig, she held it down, washing the foul burning liquid down with the hard tack as oppossed to the normal other way around.
"Hn." It was a close to a thanks as he'd get for now.
Clouds rolled over the ocean. At the horizon, they seemed to dip down and touch the water. The skies dimmed as the clouds covered the sun, and the winds stirred up the waves. As the ship sailed closer to the clouds, or maybe it was the clouds rolling closer to the ship, the clouds got darker. Lightning cut through the sky as drops of rain began to pelt the Anna Marie's deck.
Anthony jumped from his perch. "Storm!" he shouted, cupping his hands over his mouth. He grabbed the wheel, hoping to keep the ship steady. The crew scurried about the ship, shouting orders and preparing the ship for a storm.
[[Ok, what do pirates do when their ship is going through a storm? I have no idea.]]
[[I assume what any other sailor would do. Try to seek refuge/shelter on land if possible, or ride it out as best they can.]]
As the clouds grew dark, Rhianwen shifted a bit anxiously and in agitation, feeling restless and really not wishing to be stuck in a drizzle. However, at the sound of crashing thunder and a flash of lightning, the redhead maiden shrunk back, letting out a distraught wimper, fear in her eyes. She began to struggle to free herself and hide.
There were three things, and only three, that absolutely terrified Rhianwen.
Spiders and centipedes.
Being vulnerable and molested.
Thunder and lightning.
As such, she began to tremble, whimpering and cringing in fear, biting back a yelp of fright.
[[But like, are they trying to holding down the sails or tie things down or anything like that?]]
Anthony looked down at Rhianwen with a look of incredulity. She was whimpering? It was only a storm. Ok, it was a big storm. With thunder and lightning. And she was wearing metal shackles. Alright. She could be scared. He rolled his eyes and struggled with the wheel as the ship reeled too far to the right. Groaning, Anthony chanced only using one hand to steer the ship so he could dig in his pocket for the key to Rhianwen's chains.
"Hey!" he screamed at her to get her attention. He couldn't chance letting go completely of the wheel just to save her stupid ass. He held out the key to her, slightly scared of getting struck himself. "Hey! Here!"
((tying things down and adjusting or tying down sails is right. Also keeping things that can't get wet and such away from the deck and water.))
Snatching the key, the female quickly fumbled with her chains, nearly dropping the key as she shook in fear. Finally, the shackles fell from her hands, the items quickly tossed off the ship into the churning waters below. Despite how frightened she was, or perhaps because of it, she got rid of them, not wanting to be chained and locked up and left to face a storm, or anything else for that matter. Backing away from the captain, she ducked into a doorway leading to the quarters below, watching the crew as she tried to hold herself in one spot. Rhianwen looked a little better, but not much. Thunder and lightning terrified her and each crash of thunder, each flash of electricity, caused her to bury her head in her arms and whimper.
Anthony figured Rhianwen would run off. It was a captive's instinct. Luckily, there was no where for her to run.
The thought of getting off course displeased Anthony, but that was probably the best thing to do right now. They would have to go around the storm. Anthony spun the wheel hard to the left and the ship tilted as it turned. Anthony could see his men adjusting the sails and pulling ropes here and there. They knew what Anthony was thinking. It only took so long in each storm before Anthony decided to leave course.
[[Ok. And, sorry for such short posts. Battle scenes and scenes like this are kind of hard to write.]]
[[no worries, i have the same troubles with such scenes]]
Rhianwen ignored the others, though if she weren't so blinded by fear, she'd notice they steered off course, which would please her. Huddling in a corner, she wandered off, heading slowly but eagerly for the 5 steps and the doorway leading to the lower decks, wishing to be as far from the storm as possible.
At long last, the girl found a store room, with food and grain ant the like. The sounds of the booming thunder were much less deafening, and thus it was in here she curled into a ball, hiding from the think she feared.
[[Ok. Then you won't mind a time skip.]]
It was well into the next morning before they saw the sun peeking through the clouds. At the first glorious ray, the helmsman cheered, inciting the rest of the crew to erupt into joyous shouting. The ship rocked with the waves as the ocean calmed. Exhausted, Anthony slumped over the wheel and closed his eyes.
Damn it. Now he had to go find Rhianwen. He pushed himself off of the wheel and went down into the belly of the ship. She wasn't in his cabin, where her sword was. Nor was she in the brigs, though he didn't expect her to be there. "Rhianwen! Where are you?" Yeah, she's definitely gonna come out when a pirate calls.
[[not at all]]
As expected, Rhianwen did not come out when she was called. She had fallen into a restless sleep, and by the time she woke up, it seemed the boat was calmer, and no faint cracks of thinder could be heard. Curled into a ball, the redhead felt even stiffer, cramped in a storeroom full of grain and dried, salted meat and such. A few jars of preserves sat in a crate.
Vaguely, the woman thought she heard her name, but she dismissed it as her imagination, her weary mind yearning for being home with people who cared what happened to her.
She wasn't going to be locked up, she'd hide until they reached suitable land.
Anthony growled in frustration and stomped back up deck. "Alright men. Whoever's not doing something, spread out and search for the girl. You find her, you bring her to me. But, if you harm her in any way, I know I'm going to hear about it. And if I do, you'll find yourself in the belly of a shark. Now go!"
One or two men went to search while the rest of the crew continued righting things on the ship. Jasper grunted, tied off the sail he was holding, and lumbered away to find Rhianwen. He seemed to be the only one who could control her, anyway. Anthony stood at the top of the stairs and punched the wall. That bitch was not going to get away. This was a ship, God damn it! In the middle of the mother-fucking ocean!
As the few unoccupied men searched the ship for the missing female, Rhianwen calmed herself enough to come up with a plan. Ships always had little rowboats, since large vessels had to often be parked out in deep docks or out in a bay and then have people row to shore. Also, if a ship went down, the rowboats were lifesavers. She'd steal one, and make her escape. Granted, she had no idea where she was. But they had left land a day ago, surely it couldn't be that far? In any case, she'd back supplies: rope, knife, string, bait, some of the food, water, matches or a lighter, candles, and a cloak. And of course, her sword and pendant. Once she had some supplies and her treasures, she'd sneak off into the night, catching fish and rowing towards land. If she died, at least she'd be away from the captain!
Hearing approaching footsteps in the hall outside, Rhianwen ducked behind several barrels and crates, for once greatful for her small stature.
Anthony went back up to the wheel and steered the ship away from the receding storm. When night fell, he'd re-map the course by the stars. They couldn't be too far out of the way. Rhianwen better show herself soon, otherwise, he would have to offer her as a reward to anyone who found her.
He went down to his room and laid out on his bed. He was exhausted. He closed his eyes and let his hand drift to his side. He could feel the pendant through his trousers. Rhianwen wouldn't go anywhere without it, so as long as he had it, he had her. And her sword was still at the end of his bed. She had to come to him sometime.
Jasper passed the barrels of grain. He looked, but didn't see anyone, so he left the storage room. Besides, water had seeped in during the storm and the smell of wet grain bothered him.
Rhianwen couldn't stay hidden forever in the storeroom, someone would find her sooner or later. Stretching her sore muscles, the female decided to begin gathering supplies. Snatching a few pieces of hard tack, dried meat, and one flask of water, she scurried out, keeping to the shadows.
She didn't have much trouble finding some string lying around and untying it from various items, like barrels, nets and the like. A small lantern een made it's way into her possession. Storing her goods in the brig, the redhead decided to get back her sword and pendant. Waiting until she was sure he wasn't wandering the halls, the girl tiptoed toward the cabins, figuring the largest and nicest looking would be the captains. Creaking the door open with minumum sound, she saw him, Damn, he was there, but then, if he was there, so were her things.
Swallowing hard, she decided to go for the sword first.
A cold wind of air and sudden change of pressure made Anthony open his eyes. Ok, so it was more the rush of air than the pressure, but...He could see the door open and new there would be some change in pressure. He sat up. Sometime in his sleep, he'd kicked the sword off the bed and it'd slid against the wall. He jumped off the bed when he saw Rhianwen run for the sword. He grabbed her around the waist, trying to stop her. She somehow managed to wriggle free of him.
Letting her go for the sword, Anthony ran for the door, slamming it shut. That door was the only way out of this room. He drew his sword. She would have to go through him to escape. Plus, he still had the opal.
Glaring at the man before her, Rhianwen held her blade at the ready, warning him not to touch her or try anything. "Give me what is rightfully mine, and I shall not attempt to run you through with this blade. Hand it over, or I swear I'll cut something off before you escape or subdue me." hissed the female, eyes boring into the man.
For all her brutality on the beach, for all her threats, she didn't particularly like causing pain. She only did it with the pirates, because they showed little to no mercy for people, earning in her mind their just punishments- - and they wouldn't likely listen any other way.
Anthony yawned. "You can attempt anything you like. Even if I gave you the opal back, you would have no way of escaping. We're in the middle of the ocean." He lunged, aiming for her hand with his sword. He didn't want to cut her hand off or anything, just knock the sword out of her hand.
"I have already aranged my escape. Even if I die, the sharks will be better company than the likes of you and your men!" spat the young woman, jerking back at his movement. She didn't know he had no intention of cutting her hand off, and as such, reacted by attempting to parry, holding the sword with the blade horizontal.
Anthony shrugged and pulled his blade back. "Not without your opal. I have hidden it somewhere on this ship." This time, he lunged for the calf of her leg, hoping to cut her enough to bring her to her knees. She'll heal. Eventually. He didn't intend to let her cut anything off, though he was sure she'd probably get a gash or two in here and there. He'd heal, too. And with any luck, he'd get to keep some rugged scars.
"Y-you're lying! It's in this room somewhere I know it!" she retorted, trying to jump back from his cut. She wasn't fast enough, and as such, grasped the back of her calf, clutching a bleeding slice in her leg. "Bastard..." she growled, seeing a knife that had clatteredd from his table in the earlier night's scuffle. Grabbing the blade, she threw her hand forward and sliced at his knee to send him to the floor.
She would ut him with the knife and then come in with her father's blade.
Anthony grimaced as she sliced just above his knee. It hurt like hell, but it wasn't the worst wound he'd ever had. He'd ignore it until after he'd subdued her. He flared his nostrils, as though that would ease the pain. "Fine," he said, lowering his sword ever so slightly. "I'll give you your necklace back." He reached into his pocket, though not the one with the opal in it.
Watching him carefully, the female tepidly inched forward, sword in one hand, the other held out in offerring, waiting for him to hand over the walnut sized gemstone. So it was on his person! She knew it. But..he had lied, so was he lying now? Why would he now all of a sudden gie her what she desired? Was it a trick? Rhianwen tried to puzzled the possibilities and the explanations in her head, so far no good answers coming to her.
