Asher had felt bad after because he was looking for Niome in the crowd, but everybody was moving too fast. He huffed as he placed his suitcase on his bed and decided to send her a message.He grabbed some parchment and then his quill in which he started to write out the message.

Niome sorry I missed you, but if you meet me outside the Great Hall before your second class starts then you can get your book of Runes. Asher~

He took his owl Kairo, and tied it around his leg and sent him off to the message.He would have to wait in the morning to return the book, but he opened his suitcase and unpacked putting it in his chest of belongings. He placed some chocolates next to the book, and decided to venture down to the commons. He saw a girl looking around, and said "Hey," seeing if she would notice him.

After waiting for as long as she could, Niome was finally shooed away from Gryffindor territory by a prefect. Guess Asher had already gotten into the Gryffindor dorm without the Ravenclaw spotting him. The seventeen year old did her best to get back to the Ravenclaw house before she got into trouble. A while later, she stood in front of her dorm room's entrance, answering the bronze eagle's riddle in order to enter. Most, if not all, of the Ravenclaw students were already moving about in the common room. The two that stood out the most to Niome were the American transfer and his red-headed companion. That was Kanoni, the artist of the Ravenclaw house. The two girls were in the same year but Niome didn't spend much time getting to know her better because Kanoni wasn't popular enough in her opinion.

Not really interested in their conversation, Niome headed up to her room where her stuff awaited. As with every year since she came to Hogwarts, the first thing she did was redecorate her space in her colors. She preferred purple and black over the house's blue and bronze. She also changed the style of her bed, turning it into an ebony canopy bed closely resembling the one she owned back at home. An extra mattress, a few more satin pillows and she was done. The next thing to change was her bedside table. But before she could even raise her wand to it, the sudden appearance of an owl at her window caused her to shriek in surprise. Her room mates merely laughed at her shock as Niome glared at them in frustration. She didn't like owls. Or cats, or rats, or dogs, or frogs, or most any kind of animal for that matter. They were filthy and disgusting. The only creatures she miraculously could tolerate, however, were those with scales. That would be lizards and fish. Which is why she kept a pet monitor lizard instead of the more common choice for a witch's pet. Her beloved Ruby sat contentedly under the now ebony bed, eyeing Kairo in a hungry manner.
After taking the note from Asher's owl, Niome quickly read through it before scribbling down a reply and tying it to Kairo's leg.

~That's fine. I'll see you before Herbology then. Hopefully you didn't damage my book over the summer.~

With that, Niome shooed the owl away and returned to changing the side table.

She giggled, almost accidentally. The prospect of flying on something new tickled her deeply. "Sorry, I'm kinda excited. Well, my dad teaches Chemistry at a Muggle high school. I got my love of potions from him. My mum is a Vet who treats magical and nonmagical creatures. Of course, the people with magical ones come in through the special entrance. They're both Hogwarts alumni. My dad was in Ravenclaw and my mum in Hufflepuff. They graduated the year Harry Potter first arrived." She shrugged, "As for me, I'd love to join the Ministry researching and keeping tabs on Magical Creatures and their interaction with Muggles. Or, if Hagrid ever retires I'd love to take over his job!" She glanced at his board, hoping he'd suggest going outside to give it a spin soon, "What about you? What's it like being a Wizard in America?"

Kyle was clutching his board sloached on his chair. "Well my parents are currently traveling the world in a wizarding band. They're squibs for the most part, but both are wizards, making me pureblood whatever that's supposed to mean. But i guess that's why I'm here. THey'll be on tour for two years and I'll be here for two years. It works out perfectly. Other then that being a wizard in america is only slightly different then being a wizard here. We arre more accepting of muggles. Not that everyone here is muggle haters. But we also start training younger, mainly beecause until the whole Voldemort fiasco ten years ago AWS didn't even exist. Your parents would normally train you."

"I've never understood the emphasis people seem to put on bloodlines." She shook her head, "Or why people seem to have such issues with Muggles. They seem pretty normal to me, just no wands. Then again, I was raised around them and my folks are pretty well integrated into our town. I think it's at least 90% Muggle." She stretched, "It's interesting that American Wizards didn't have formal training. How do you learn stuff like Apparating? Or become an Animagus? My parents wouldn't be able to teach me..."

"Well there were private 'schools' people went to for animagus and apparating training. Although many people didn't go though either." Kyle looked at Kai really for the first time. He had admit she was quite beautiful. He wasn't expecting a relationship but wouldn't mind one. It would make the time go by faster. He Took the art book from the chair and began flipping through it. "these are very good"

"Thanks! The ones at the front are kinda old. The really interesting ones are closer to the back, that's when I got a hold of enchanted art supplies!" She grinned, "They were a present from my folks after I got my acceptance letter." She reached over and flipped to a drawing of the Giant Squid. It writhed and splashed across the page before darkening it with a burst of ink. She laughed, "He's a little ornery. Here's my favorite..." She turned the page to reveal a unicorn grazing atop a hill against a starry sky. The creature looked up at them, nodded, and went back to munching clover as a gust of wind rustled the grass.

Jamie blinked, hearing a voice and turned around to see a boy. "Um, hey." She smiled some and said. "Looks like you're a fellow gryffindor." She nodded and extened her hand. "My name is Jamie." She hoped he wouldn't ask for her last name. She didn't want anyone jugding her based on her name.

Kyle laughed at the giant squid. "I've heard a lot of stories about that thing. The BLAck LAke's famous giant squid. One day in care of magiacl creatures we studied it the entire period back at AWS. And I don't mean giant squids in general. I just mean HOgwart's GAinat squid. It was quite fgunny actually."

She laughed, "Yeah, he almost drowned me my first year here..." she shrugged, "But no sweat, you know? Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, giant squid have to drown anyone who gets too close." She stood up and stretched. She shifted her eyes back and forth, then leaned close, "You wanna go see him? He loves splashing around in the dusk, right as the sun is setting." She gathered up her supplies, "I'd love to do another picture of him! You up for it?"

Asher smiled up at her and replied back, "Hey how's your night going?" He stepped a bit closer to her so she could see him much more better. He heard her reply, and said "Yep I am or I wouldn't be here." He got out his extra muffin and munched on it. "Nice to meet you Jaime," he replies back in a very kind tone. "My name's Asher." He says looking directly into her eyes.

"Hmm... surre when do we leave?" Kyle had always been intrested to see the squid. IT always seemed like fun. He got up and stretched. "I'll go put my board away, its not good to fly for the first time at night."

Jamie smiled. "My, well its nice to meet you Asher." She blinked when he pulled out a muffin. "Hungry?" She joked some. Looking at him some. Her eyes studying the younger boy some before looking back up at his eyes.

"Why not now? No time like the present, after all!" She smiled and grabbed his hand, "Come on, lights out aren't for another hour or so, I'm sure we'll be back before anyone even notices we're missing."

Kyle quickly got up and walked with her. He was a little shocked when she grabbed his hand but he was usedd to the more brash american girl so he quickly adjusted. "So we're headed down towards the Black LAke huh?"

"Yessir! There's a great spot near the Forbidden Forest bank where the squid loves to frequent. But we should probably grab something warmer. I'll meet you back down here in five." She ran upstairs to her room to get a warm cloak, hat and scarf. She gave Lapis a scratch on the head and told her in a whisper, "You know that new American? I think he likes me!" She giggled a little, "I was not expecting that! But you remember to be nice to him, okay?" Lapis meowed, stretched and curled up to continue her nap. It was about as close to a yes as she was going to get.

She skipped back down the stairs, well bundled and carrying her sketchbook in a little satchel. "You ready?" She asked when Kyle reappeared. She took his hand again and lead him back out into the halls. She took them downstairs, through groups of other students, and towards the Great Hall. "Our first stop is the kitchen. The House Elves like me and I can usually get some extra fish to lure the big guy out if he's feeling stubborn." Down another flight of stairs sat a door that was almost unnoticeable unless you were really looking for it. She walked up and rapped three times, then waited. After about a minute a smaller door built into the main one swung open and a short humanoid with big eyes and floppy ears answered, "Kanoni Winters! Come in sweety!" Kai smiled and gave the House Elf a hug, lifting her off her feet, ""Luci! I've missed you!" she set her back down, "This is my friend Kyle, he's from America!" She waved at Kyle to indicate he should follow her through the larger door. "Hello Kyle, it's a pleasure."

Kyle Got up and went to his room to get something warmer. He pulled a cloak out of his trunk. He put his board away and patted his owl on the head. It snapped at him and he said, "Alright you need food."
He Opened the window and let him out.

He went down stairs and was shocked when Kai grabbed his hand. He didn't mind. When she brought him to the house elves he was even more surprised. He simply nodded at Luci. He had a house elf at home, fully clothed and paid, but he had never seen so many in one space.

All the Elves in the kitchen seemed to know her and waved warmly as Luci lead them towards a large freezer door. "I can bet on why you're here at this hour. Surely not a midnight snack..." She looked up at Kai, a knowing look in her eye, "You just make sure to be back in bed by curfew this time, right?" Kai rolled her eyes and smiled, "Yes Luci, I promise not to stay up past my bedtime," Luci nodded, "Good. Here we are," She opened the freezer and walked inside, appearing a moment later with a couple fish wrapped in plastic. She handed them over, but pulled back for a second looking Kai straight in the eye, "And I don't want a repeat of last time! There won't always be someone there who can help," She turned her gaze to Kyle, "You keep an eye on her, you hear me? Or I'll make sure every bite of food you have here is stone cold!" There was some teasing in her voice, but the serious undertone was clear. She handed over the fish and ushered them out, "Have fun kids, and remember what I said. Both of you." She swung the door shut and the latch clicked into place, leaving them at the foot of the stairs. "Well, shall we go?"

Jumping slightly when Rose and Kristen came over asking her if she liked Caleb "I uhh well uhmm...sorta kinda..why whats up?...what sort of info?"She asked going red she turned round sitting on the chair properly suddenly interested about this, staring at them in wonder.

He thought Jamie had a very pretty smile. He munched on his muffin, and pulled out another one to offer her. Just in case she was a bit hungry not saying she didn't eat much at the ceremony. He replied, "Yea I am a bit," he says quietly as he goes to sit down on the couch. "So what did you do over the summer?" He asked not knowing if it was too personal to ask. He didn't want to get to bed too soon.
