Sel heard Faolan and turned around to see her expression. He stood in place and put a hand on the back of his head, thinking. "Uh, if it's not too much trouble... is there a way we can take Faolan with us? I think she could vouch that I'm not a 'violent intruder' for what its worth." he said pushing out the words. In truth he had no idea if it would help and the expression of nervousness showed it.

Scarlett had been walking aimlessly in the woods when she heard lots of voices talking at once. She followed after the noises and found herself in the middle of a small fight.

Jack frowned, wondering what to do. He was almost beginning to wish he hadn't got involved in the first place. This situation seemed like it could go pear shaped at the slightest tilt of a head or the drop of a hat. He was i9nvolved now though. This was a chance to walk away, to move on and forget about the mermaid, the human and the stupid royal guards with their little princess. He glanced behind at the mermaid and internally sighed at her expression. Why did he have to have such a soft spot for damsels in distress?

"I can always carry you, if you're willing that is," he offered, internally groaning. He was going to get more involved. Then again it would probably happen anyway so what was the use in delaying it. He was curious by nature and he'd probably follow anyway just to see what was going on. Why waste energy on stealth when you could just walk with the people you were observing after all?

"My lady," he said, turning and giving Kya a flourishing bow. His wings were displayed beautifully as he bent, flaring slightly because of the change of position. Sunlight glinted off the raven feathers and he smiled charmingly as he stood up, his sapphire eyes sparkling. "Would that be acceptable?"

Faolan wasn't sure if she should accept, seeing as the moment her legs dried off, sh'd turn into a fairy. She watched the water ripple while she thought about what to do. She sighed, aware that if she wanted to make sure Sel wasn't hurt, she'd have to expose her other side. She nodded, accepting the offer Jack suggested. "You won't have to carry me for long." I guess it's time someone figured my secret out. She thought.

Finx rolled her eyes. "Yes yes she may come if she wants. Please don't bow to me." She said the last part in a small voice and didn't meet his eyes.

"Alright, lets go meet the Queen then." Sel said giving a smile, prepared to follow. Although the guards weapons at the ready and targeting him made him a little jumpy. At least the princess was there so he may have a better chance.

Faolan watched the group and waited for Jack to come over to her. She watched Sel examine the weapons and smiled slightly.

"As you wish, my lady," Jack replied, smiling slightly at her before turning to the water and the mermaid within. He wasn't quite sure what she meant by her statement that she would not need to be carried for long but he put that out of his mind for the moment. Things would doubtless become clearer later and she needed carrying now. He bent his knees and reached out his arms. She was just close enough to the water's edge that he didn't have to fly out using his wings to scoop her up. He wound his arms around the upper part of her body and carefully hoisted her out of teh water before shifting his grip so one arm wound around her upper half and the other went under her tail.

"Is this comfortable enough?" he asked. "If not then just say so and I'll do my best to please." He flashed her a charming grin before turning back to the others. "Shall we go then?"

"No, this is fine. Just, don't drop me. No matter what you see." She stared at his shoulder as she spoke to him. She had the feeling he would accidentally drop her when the light formed around her. She sighed, not exactly wanting to reveal herself.

"Now why would I drop you?" Jack asked, curious and amused at the same time. "I've seen some pretty strange things in my life so I doubt you'll surprise me that much. Have a little more faith in me than tha, if you please." He added the last part in a teasing tone before shifting his wings slightly and looking down at her. He could tell that she was nervous about something, the something that she was sure would make him drop her. Clearly this was distressing her quite a bit but there wasn't much he could do to ease her mind so instead he just shifted, making sure she and he were comfortable before eyeing the guards somewhat warily. He wouldn't put it past them to get a little trigger happy (or in this case blade happy) and do something stupid. He never did like guards that much, always far too quick to act rather than think. He decided to keep his wings open just to be on the safe side. You never did know and he still considdered himself relatively new to the area even tgough he'd lived here for over five years now. He was over a hundred and fifty now though so that really wasn't a very long time.

As Jack continued to hold her, she could feel her scales drying out ever so slightly. She shook head, expecting her change to occur at any second. And, she was right. She gasped when the light came quickly, and shorter than usual. She closed her eyes as her scales disappeared and a strange, almost crystal like material formd over her breasts. And then, the light was gone. Her long, abnormal wings were against her back, restricted by Jack's arm.

Jack felt himself jump as the mermaid in his arms suddenly shifted and changed and...

So that was why she was afraid he'd drop her. He managed to avoid that senario thankfully although when he felt the wings on her back he quickly pulled his hand away and shifted, holding her nearer her lower back to allow them some freedom. He stared down at her for a moment, taking in the change before a large grin spread accross his face.

"Well that explains it!" he grinned widely. He carefully lowered her to the grou,d feet first of course, and made sure she was standing before he let go. "You alright walking or do you still want me to carry you. It's no big deal if you do." He tossed her a friendly wink, taking the events all in stride.

"I can walk. I won't make you carry me if you don't have to. It's not proper." Faolan looked around with her new red eyes and her wing isinstinctivly opened behind her, raising into the air. She looked over at Sel to see his reaction. He may not find it so strange as the others. He might think this is a normal thing.

Sel, who looked away after Jak started to pick up Faolan when he thought heard one of the guards move, missed the small light show by a few seconds and turned around to see the mermaid gone and a fairy instead. He scratched the side of his head, still trying to figure out what happened. "Did... Did Faolan have to leave?" he asked, not quite sure what happened to his mermaid friend.

Faolan stared wide-eyed at Sel. He thought she was someone else. She felt a slight relief to this, but shook her head.

Finx smiled at him and loped her arm threw his it felt wierd to be holding a human but she didn't mind humans like her mom did. "That parts a secret only my mom can tell. Come on we have a long way to go." Finx pulled him along with her setting a steady pace towards the castle. As the walked the forest started to thine and soon the city come into view most of the creatures ignored there passing but several stopped to stare at the human who passed. Finally the castle come into view it was made out of forest object from wood to grass you name it at it was there no animals though. "Here we are home sweet home." Finx bounded up the stairs and waited for the others to take in the castle.

Faolan ignored the uneasy feeling when Finx grabbed Sel and followed along with them. When they arrived at the castle, seeing as she had been here before in this form, she just flew up the stairs, not bothering to wait until she arrived at the top of the stairs, where she stood and waited. She had always found she had more courage when she was in this form, and right now, she was glad she had courage. She glanced side to side, taking in the castle she still haden't gotten used to seeing. It was magnificent. The most beautiful structure she had ever seen. "And, we're here." She smiled sweetly at the castle. "It's been a while."

Sel, having been pulled to the castle town, was a little taken back by all the magic creatures that inhabited it. He was actually a little amazed that so much was in this forest. "Why on earth would the idiots back at the town not want to come here? This is so cool." he said to himself. He walked up the stairs to two waiting up there.

Faolan smiled when she heard his comment. "This place is beautiful, isn't it?" She asked Sel, smiling.

Kya smiled at him. "Are people come here but since the treaty most humans tend to stay out of the forest most don't even know we exist." she pushed the doors open revealing her mother's thorne room which was at the moment empty. 'Mother!" Kya called then eeped as her mother entered behing them. "Welcome humble guest. Kya i'll deal with you later." She said with a glare at her daughter. She plopped down on the throne and smiled. "i see we have others as well a meremaid and a fairy i have yet to meet."

Jack walked through the city, glancing around curiously. He'd lived in the forest for quite some time now but he'd never actually ventured into this area, preferring to spend his time amongst the trees with the other fae who preferred the quiet life as he did. He had to admit that the city was a beautiful place though. He wouldn't mind coming here more often he suposed. A few of the female population (and some of the males too he noted with a smirk) cast glanced his way and he returned with a smile, wink or charming grin. He knew how this game was played, had learnt it over a century ago when he was still so, so young and innocent.

As they entered the presence of the queen Jack felt...something...brush against his senses. He wasn't quite sure what it was but that didn't matter. He was in the presence of fae royalty and he knew, instinctively, that he should behave with a little more respect than he usually gave those around him. Normally with him it was important to earn respect but this being before him was powerful, old and he had a feeling that she was wise, a rare combination but one definitely worthy of respect. He stepped forward slightly, bowing deeply before rising again. His dark coat billowed behind him slightly as his wings outstretched t accommodate the changing position before folding back neatly as he straightened his back.

"Pleased to meet you, my lady," he said carefully. For some reason he felt...unsure...in her presence. It was not a feeling that he knew or liked very much. It was alien, foreign and completely unnatural to him. It was so strange that he almost considdered leaving, almost being the key word. Something interesting was going on and that outweighed his discomfort.

Faolan bowed in the presence of the queen and smiled warmly to her. "My lady."

Sel froze in place once he noticed the Queen. The cloth making her cloths seemed familiar. He also froze in place once he heard her regal voice and feeling her presence, it was very powerful. Once his mind snapped back into place he noticed the others bowing and he freaked a little. "Ah... um... Greetings... Queen?" he said unsure, before giving a quick nervous bow.

Finx waved her hand as kya jumped into a seat with her feet over the arm. "Tell me why you're here?" finx asked glancing at her daughter with a frown.

"Ah.... well I guess it was curiosity in general... My family recently moved here and as soon as we did we were warned not to go into the forest. I also kinda wanted to see if I could--" he said before stopping the sentence. He wondered if he should say anything about the cloth, it may take things for a turn for the worst.
