"I'll show you." Deadpool grabbed her and Jaclyn both and towed them along with him, grinning line a loon under the mask.

Eve yelped as she was grabbed and pulled along, but before she could do anything else, the world seemed to ripple and part around them like a curtain and they were suddenly somewhere else.

Deadpool grinned as he pulled them to a halt in front of a very familiar mansion.

"See?"

Jaclyn gaped, because, really? Really? What the hell?

Eve was nearly hyperventilating at that point.

"Oh god," she squeaked. "This isn't happening, this cannot be happening, that can't be what it looks like."

"Congrats, you're the first to step through the other way!" Deadpool grinned. "Thanks for the coffee, gotta get running now."

Eve just watched in abstract horror as Deadpool sauntered off.

"We just got left in the middle of nowhere," she breathed. "And it looks like the Xavier Mansion."

Jaclyn was quiet for several moments, running things through her head and giving up when none of it made enough sense.

"So what do we do now?"

"I don't know," Eve said, having come to the same no-sense conclusion. She shrugged helplessly. "Go and knock on the door?"

"Yes, let's just go knock on the door and hope they're nice," Jaclyn said, her voice a little squeaky.

"You have any better ideas?" Eve asked. "Because I'd like to hear them."

"Nope. None. I'm still trying to figure out why we're here," Jaclyn said, giving her a bit of a Look.

"We can't just stand out here," Eve said cautiously. "Maybe whoever lives here will at least tell us where we are."

"Right." Jaclyn sighed and headed for the door cautiously, still nervous about this whole situation.

Eve followed nervously and hesitated when they got to the door. Then she reached out and rapped the heavy brass knocker.

It took a few moments before Ororo opened the door, looking at them for a few moments. "Can I help you?" she asked, seeming a bit confused. They didn't often have people just knock on the door, after all.

Eve's brain shorted out for a moment because it was not possible that she was seeing who she was seeing.

"S-sorry," she managed once her brain had taken a second to reboot. "I think we're a bit lost."

"You must be to be way out here." Ororo glanced around and didn't see a car. Odd. But they also looked too freaked out to be spies... unless they were really good actors. So she mentally hailed Charles while she pulled the door open.

"Why don't you come in and have some tea?"

"Just like that?" Eve asked uncertainly, glancing at Jaclyn and back again.

"You both look like you could use it," Ororo said kindly. Plus Charles could shut them down very quickly if they were intending harm, but she didn't add that.

Jaclyn shrugged after a moment and motioned for Eve to go first.

On the one hand, Eve wanted to shove Jaclyn in first. On the other, tea did sound good.

"Okay," she said, hesitantly stepping inside. Her heart jumped a bit when the threshold and floor were solid under her feet. Still not a hallucination, then.

Ororo ushered them both into the kitchen and put the kettle on to boil, glancing around. She was kind of surprised Charles hadn't arrived yet to start the tea process.

Jaclyn was also nervous and really, really surprised this wasn't some kind of shared hallucination.

Charles did show up quickly, though.

"Good afternoon," he greeted as he wheeled into the kitchen. Eve's brain shorted out again when she saw him.

Jaclyn didn't quite manage to squeak, looking at him with big eyes. "Afternoon," she managed to mumble, gratefully looking at the tea cup Ororo placed in front of her, another settling in front of Eve.

"I understand you two are in a spot of trouble?" Charles asked gently once the tea was handed out. He could hear exactly what the girls were thinking, of course, but he wanted to let them explain.

"Um. Sort of? I think?" Jaclyn floundered helplessly for a few moments before she took a fortifying sip of tea. "I don't... We're not exactly supposed to be here."
