Hmm. I'm planning to open an evolving pet/adoptee shop.

And they will be of dolls. Ball jointed dolls who are alive and kicking. But they're special.

Simply put, it's a continuation of Hans Christian Anderson's Little Mermaid with a twist inspired from Rozen Maiden and Angelic Layer.

They have spirits... Incomplete ones.
Not enough to become a soul and live to exist in the truest sense.

It's a mix of pixel and trad. art sort of shop products. I want to make it as cheap as possible but not enough to make it seem like a rip off/not much just compensation for the artists I will be hiring ---including myself.

I plan to open February... Hopefully I'm going to make it since I'm somewhat stressed from school and there are a few loops and holes in the plot plus I haven't figured out the rules/leveling up/RPing for this too.

It's like this:

Spirits or energies with a strong consciousness are given a chance to be souls by going through a process where they are rooted to a vessel and are taken cared of. They're put in a doll's body and are cared for by a human. Depending on how the human cares for them and how they build their own personality towards stimuli around them, will be how they gain their soul.

Are you familiar with the original tale of Little Mermaid? I got inspired somewhat by that. Then add in Rozen Maiden and Angelic Layer... Yup. A shop concept.

I already have an idea for how much I would to sell from doing a canvass of the prices in the Breedables/Evolving pets section. But I get the feeling that even if I'll get paid or my other fellows get paid, I'll still be a wee bit bankrupt at least for the first few months. I don't know. I get that feeling anyway.

The products that the shop will be producing isn't the paper doll sort of idea. Each and every product will be unique and will be drawn by hand. The pixels will only be reserved for catalogs, decors and whatever that can be mass produced but never the dolls. I want to make everyone's doll and such to be a unique and different thing. Even if they have 'same' items or abilities, everyone will have a chance to stand out.

Regardless, I would like for this to be fun though.

No. You got it half right though.

People will get a chance to buy a doll and assemble one with a chosen spirit. They decide the hair, eyes and feel for the clothes and style their doll will have.

Then for it to level up, they have to do some RPing and accomplish some optional activities for extra points. I have yet to figure out the system for leveling up and going up/down though.

I decided to somewhat continue off from where the original ended and then twisted it to come up with the shop idea I'm sharing with you now.

Definitely no repeating clothes. Everybody will be a unique masterpiece in itself. I want everyone to have a chance to be creative and build something really, really amazing/pleasing to the eyes.

If you mean in the exchange and such, yes I do buy a lot of things since I am a quester so yes my gold tends to fluctuate a lot because of that. ;;

Though art wise, I do have art but I don't buy them. They were given as freebies and gifts.

The only times I did pay for art was when I had a semi active request thread on Gaia. I stopped when I realized I couldn't afford to get art the way I wanted it to be since I was low on budget and could only get those that I would end scrutinizing until the end of the day. Somehow that just made me sad.

So I didn't continue and let the thread die.

I still think I'm my own art slave so yes---I'll just tell the person in the mirror to start drawing or else.
