Huge in popularity or huge in world scope?
If it's the former, controversy helps it sell. If it's the latter, tech advancing has helped the game alot.

I think both. Yes, both. :)
I've not played GTA since it's early days, so I can't really say much about how big the game's world is.
Here's the corset I bought:

I can give you an idea of the size with an image if you tell me.

It was for PS2, so I think GTA III or the one after that?
I don't remember it, I've never owned the game, but my best friend did.
He was a huge fan of GTA when we were younger.

It was either Vice City or San Andreas. One of the two.
Ones in the 70s, another in the 80s.
Was it San Andreas?

I have no idea.
This was a really long time ago, I just remember watching him drive through a mall window in a stolen car and running over police officers.
I don't remember which it was, but the next time I see him I can ask if he still has it!

Give away was the mall mention. You're talking of Vice City. Vice City isn't much of an upgrade from III.
Vice City to San Andreas is though. And San Andreas to V is even though both San Andreas/V are two different versions of the same area.
---------- Post added 06-20-2015 at 11:36 AM ----------
Here's both versions of San Andreas in size.
The original is in the 80s, V is in modern times.

I'm glad you were able to figure that out by me mentioning the mall!
I still remember it like it was yesterday, it was a red car, not convertible and he drove it through the window and ran over so many officers! D:
I can't tell which of those worlds are which!

Yeah, Vice City has a mall that you can drive in and stuff. That's how I knew what game you were talking about because I used to do the same. I also know the car because the mall has a giveaway vehicle on display that you can steal and drive around inside the mall and also exit with it.
Vice City is Miami in the 70s. It's easy to tell apart from San Andreas which is LA in the 80s. The 80s is more modern looking than the 70s style. Both are easy to tell apart.

there are actually two malls in the GTA series. The Liberty City Shopping Mall, Staunton Island Shopping Mall or simply The Shopping Mall, is located in Belleville Park, Staunton Island, and appears in Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Advance and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (if you look carefully, you can see the poster easter eggs referencing the game itself "GTA III FOR SALE!" and "GTA III ON SALE NOW!"). though this one has only limited access via a narrow concourse, so its doubtful that this is the one you mean. the second mall is most probably the one you're talking about, The North Point Mall (also known as The Vice Point Mall in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories) is located in Vice Point, Vice City of both Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. its a two story mall with a H-shape floorplan, and is arguably one of the largest enclosed malls in the GTA series, with an adjoining multistory car park and six street level entrances. the display car, which you can steal and drive away, is an Infernus, intended as a prize from the mall's annual charity raffles. but the cops come after you the moment you get in it, and you can't drive it out of the mall so you'd have to escape another way.. or die/get busted

Thanks! I'm very excited to wear my corset once it comes in. :D
Oh, Menelaus, perhaps my friend didn't drive out of the mall, but he definitely busted some mall windows! Prat was so many years ago back when that game first came out, I can barely remember the little details, and it's late at night, so I'm not even going to try. Lol.
Personally. I can't get into GTA. Not my thing.

I only ever liked the first and the last on (GTA V), the rest were just space fillers, nothing you couldn't find in other games of their time. but the first and last were ground breaking for their genre, and changed the gaming world dramatically

San Andreas for PS2 and Xbox 360 was the peak of the GTA series after III as Vice City wasn't much of a change outside of location. It didn't have anything that made it better. San Andreas had planes, helicopters, boats, etc that made a return in V that IV didn't do. Well, it sorta did. But it was limited by the fact Liberty City is a small area and mostly consisted of buildings and nothing really dedicated to nature.
The three game changers are III, San Andreas, and V. They all do something different. III being the first landmark 3D open world game, San Andreas being an open world experience with RPG elements and tons of stuff to do, and V with the character switching and expanding upon San Andreas and its core.

We're glad too. My doctor was super close to putting me on bed rest. Than god that didn't happen, yet! I'm 27 weeks along, with our second little girl. ^_^
Welcome!! :D When should it be there! I wish I could fit in corsets, but with the massive bump that is my belly... not happening.

So glad you didn't get put on bed rest! That is so exciting. :) Do you have any names picked out yet, Moonlit?
I'm sure someday after baby is born, you can squeeze into a corset. :D
I'm quite excited for my corset to arrive. It should be here by this week or early next week. I've always loved corsets, but after I gained a lot of weight, it was really hard to fit into corsets anymore. :( But now that I've lost a lot, I'm ready to squeeze into them once again!
Ava is that weirdo that people remember, Amane.
She went to school once in a Mary Poppins getup because she got really into Mary Poppins at one point. Then, she used to wear vintage high waisted skirts and boots even in the summer because she thought she was still in the 19th century.
And at one point in her life, she actually wore a Miko costume to school and the mall because she could. It was an authentic Miko costume too that her cousin had gotten her from Japan.
Ava also likes to use sage smudges to ward off evil spirits that might be haunting her house and her mother thinks that it makes the house smell like drugs.
