I.. ended up having fast food but after this episode of True Blood, I'm going to start the slow cooker for the beef stew for tomorrow!

Hey all, good morning! :) Everyone enjoying the event extension?

Hello salvete. Definitely enjoying the extension, I'd completely forgotten it was supposed to end last night. Haven't had much time for it in the week, so I'm kind of happy the event items and rares are not really my style.. I'd like to get enough for the pie item though, I've got the balloons so if I get what, 35 more pies today I'll be able to get the pie.. difficult when it seems there's not a lot of people on though. >.<

How are you doing?

I'm doing fine. Busy morning, washing the dishes, doing the laundry, preparing something for tonight's dinner, cooking, etc. Now I'm hungry! xD

Hehe, sounds busy indeed. I've just had a really lazy morning.. was working last night so I didn't come home till four in the morning, exhausted, and working again tonight, so figured I can have a lazy day today with lots of sleeping in. ^^
And I just made coffee, and it is delicious. :drool:

Wow, that's pretty late/early. Hope they pay well for late nights; I know that some organizations pay overnight workers higher salaries? Sleeping in sounds great, but caffeine tends to keep me awake.

Nah, it's a pub, I'm on minimum wage, I don't think I'm getting anything extra for late nights. :P It's a fun job though, and I don't really mind night shifts. And I'm hoping the caffeine will help me stay awake, like I said I'm working tonight again, till 3.30am.. kinda hoping it will be a bit busier than last night, because then it will go by much faster.

Oh okay, at least you get tips (?) and get to socialize in your job. :)

Yeah we get pretty good tips where I am now.. last weekend I made around £20 in a night, last night I made almost £10. :) And it is fun.. the staff is amazing and the customers are happy and friendly. I mean, I've worked in a supermarket and a library where you get so many grumpy customers, but a customer who can afford the time and money to go and have a drink to socialize will pretty much always be happy. ^^ And there's a lot of regulars who are always willing to talk and go with you on cigarette breaks. :P

What about you, are you working, or..?

I'm a full-time student, but I have a part-time job in a hospital. ^^

It is Vampire: the Masquerade! We have a tabletop of it going with some friends and I'm looking forward to that.

It sounds like your new job is going well; did you get both positions or just the bartending one?

salvete, that sounds cool, are you perhaps studying medicine as well?

Scribbled Lore, awesome. World of Magic is my favourite RPG system, but I haven't tried Vampire yet. I can't wait for a friend of mine to move to London in September - he is the best storyteller ever, and he's going to start up a WoD game when he gets settled, where I get to revive an old character from a game we did before. ^_____^
And I got both jobs! :D Start in the shop on Monday, I'm really excited. All seems to be coming together, got all the bank and insurance number things worked out too, finally, so I'll get my first payslip next week. Good thing too, we just got both the gas and water bill and I'm really running out of money..

What do you hope to do with studying medicine, salvete? Is there a particular type of doctor that you want to become?

Scribbled Lore: I'm still exploring. At the moment, I am interested in dermatology, obstetrics, and surgery (not sure what area of the body, but my friend's dream is for me to become a heart surgeon xD <3<3). I was also interested in orthodontics before, but I decided not to go down that road (as pre-med and pre-dental are sort of separate paths).

ljosberinn: Do you mind if I ask you what the application process was like for both jobs?

Those are all interesting paths to take in medicine! Why those three in particular?

salvete, that sounds cool.. and hard. xD But I have a lot of respect for people in medicine, I hope it's something you will really enjoy.

Err.. I just went to shops and bars all over town with my CV and a big smile on my face. :P I got contacted by those two places in the same week and decided that I'm going to try to do both (both part time.. there are some people at the bar who have a full time day job plus night shifts at the pub.. that would just kill me :|) and see how it goes. I'm a little bit afraid I might be putting a bit too much pressure on myself, but I have been getting mentally healthier in the past couple of years. Last time I had a full time job for a summer, the pressure got too much and I had to make arrangements at the end of it to have one day off a week and finish later because I just couldn't take it. As it is now, I'll be doing three shifts a week at both places, and hopefully it will work out well.. if not, then well, I'll just have to drop one of them and hope I'll be able to do extra shifts at the other one. At least I'll be earning a lot of money while I keep them both. ^^

Anyway, be back in a bit, gotta have my head shaved!
