End of Time Children in Need preview
(apparently the BBC were lying when they said it wouldn't be on the internet... donate to Children in Need if you can!)
Edit: Dreamland is definitely geo-locked for the UK, I think the BBC youtube channel might be as well. The preview is apparently up on Blogtor Who, but it wouldn't work for me. Youtube is probably the best bet.

For all you Baker fans here's whats got to be the best clip ever. ("Not fit? Not fit? Of course I'm fit! All systems go!" *starts to run in place*) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSXsWd3XVmY
Woooah, hi guys. Just popping in for a little Waters of Mars review..
Frankly, I wasn't too impressed..X
I thought the ending was brilliant, with the Doctor getting completely out of control and the megalomania and the desperation in trying to save everyone and somehow prove himself, to himself. I thought it was fantastic, and really really well done too.
But the rest of the episodes? It was just really blah. We didn't get to know anything about the aliens, really. They were scary for the first couple of shots when you only saw their faces for a second so you couldn't quite make them out, but when you saw them up close, they were mostly kind of comical. There was no explanation for why they wanted Earth since apparently they could generate massive amounts of water all on their own - did they just need a host? And why? etc.
The crew of Bowie Base One was alright, but even there we mostly got to know that Adelaide Brooke was a badass.
In the series, you get a few awesome episodes and then a few episodes that are not quite as awesome, but good filler material, so it's not EPIC AWESOMENESS ALL THE TIME. But when you have just a couple of specials for a whole year, they should all be epic awesome. We've been waiting months, we don't want an episode of filler quality.
So yes, I was fairly disappointed. Even though seeing David again was wonderful and he had some brilliant lines.
I was actually more impressed with the Children in Need special. Maybe it's just because I have a soft spot for the Ood, but still. At least I know the Christmas specials are going to be super epic awesomeness. :D
Heh, maybe it's lack of any other television or I'm just becoming easier to impress but I genuinely loved Waters of Mars. The crew were one of the reasons why. Hurrah for the super-special-awesome Christmas special though!
Since Children of Earth threw everything off kilter I can't even remember when Doctor Who or Torchwood are supposed to be on. :/
Children of Earth? I havent seen it.... Isn't that a Torchwood episode? (Never really been into Torchwood, since there's no Time Lords... that's just me, though).
The Master, too. (played by the guy who's Governor Swann in PotC, which I thought pretty amusing to find out.)
"It shall be a deadly vengeance of deadly revenge!"
I think they just did the specials this year because everyone needed a break. Even though the series are not on the whole year, it's a whole year's work for most of the people involved and it's very stressful. And they haven't had a proper break since the new series started.
I liked Waters of Mars a lot while I was watching it, because I was so excited about finally seeing more Doctor. xD It was just afterward that I went 'oh, but wait a minute..'
I didn't know they were definitely going to make more Torchwood, I thought it was just a rumour, but apparently they are! I wonder what they'll do with it...
And yeah, I've seen that video clip, it's hilarious. :'D
Children of Earth was a five part 'mini-series' of Torchwood but it was shown over five days rather than the usual twelve or so week run a full series would get.
I think I posted that clip before, I remember seeing it on TV when I was little and not really having a clue what was going on. XD
WoM was good....... Better than PotD anyway. I tried watching PotD again today and couldn't even finish. The aliens were cheesy, and the co-star was a poor actress. There were a few good Doctor moments in the episode, but overall the plotline and acting was not very good. (That is, everyone except for DT and the lady at the end who said his song was ending.... they were great)

Michelle Ryan can go back to Eastenders and stay there. Lee Evans got on my nerves too, he's far too recognisable as 'Lee Evans' to ever be a convincing actor.
You can download Partners in Crime (series 4) from iTunes (itunes.com/radiotimes) for free if you feel like it. I'm catching up with Dreamland... I much prefer the animation from The Infinite Quest though.
I'll probably try to watch it just to give it the benefit of the doubt, but just from the previews, it hasn't really inspired the "OOH I NEED TO WATCH!!" feeling in me.
And now I wonder just how much of that is from the desire to watch the BBC Robin Hood.
But in general, it's been my experience that Syfy original series don't appeal to me. Except for Alice. That preview makes me want to see it.
The Sci Fi series based on A Wizard of Earthsea made me want to throw things at the TV (even Ursula K. Le Guin hates it). I'm a big fan of Tin Man though, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.
