I'm serious. Because I don't find things like Happy Tree Friends funny, I actually find it offensive and have told them I do, people have stopped talking to me or blown up in anger at me.

the infamous Happy Tree Friends... D: ugh! I never thought it funny! I think it is gross and yuck and kind of twisted. I don't like something that gory to be 'sugar coated' in a rather adorable shell, misleading and I think kids will be very shock to find out that the sweet little things would end up that gory. DX

I felt cheated and misled, but... hmm I don't find it offensive in a way that people are insulting me...
I only peek into certain scenes in two or three episodes, so lack of info, and I don't want to know more about it to judge that thing.

But just because of that and they become angry?
Lol, even people insulted my beloved manga or anime I still respect their views, can't they do the same?

I have very poor luck in the people I meet, and I don't hold back on saying that I think it's crass and that it's somewhat insulting that they expect me to like it. I'm not violent person, though do I enjoy some goreish horrors if they're done properly and anatomically correct.
I honestly cannot see how a lot of 'mainstream' humour is funny. I just..

So people will say a 'hilarious' joke to me and I just either stare blankly at them or tell them I don't find it funny at all and they stop telling me jokes or talking to me, or they get angry and I can't understand why.

I don't think Happy Tree Friends is mainstream at all... not many people I know know about it.

On the other hand, my acquaintance give me side glances when I suddenly giggled or chortled when I find something funny, yet they don't. XD

With me it's either high processes humour (the kind that needs long thinking about and takes ages to come up with or notice is funny), well planned and carefully timed slapstick like Chaplin or the Stooges, History jokes, or visual humour (things like expressions or careful placement of elements as in Cloudy: With a Chance of Meatballs or Megamind). Stuff that needs to me thought about at least a little.
and most of the people I've ever tried hanging out with looove Happy Tree Friends and similar stuff.

hmm... oh well. Nowadays I don't hang out with real life people anyway... DX
I find it way too much work. x.x and I don't like going out.
