I recently got Soul Caliber V (Or IV? There are many, I can't even remember. The one for PS3) but I've not played it much. Mostly I just let my nephew play so I get points to buy stuff for character creation.

I don't think SC V came out yet, but I could be wrong. Maybe it did and I missed it, in which case I need to go shopping!! Haha
Yeah the character creation is awesome. I love making characters and background stories to go with everyone ^^ I'm actually going to start making a bunch of short stories from them as a writing exercise. That and I think it'd be really fun :D
But you should play the game when you have a chance. It's amazingly addicting XD

lol - that does sound fun! Yeah, all of my characters have a story.
I'm a Sony girl, so we played SCIII on PS2. The custom creator on that is THE Best. I don't think there's going to BE a SCV. Unless they make some re-mix or weird spin-off. Think of the seventy zillion Street Fighter versions. XD

Then I have IV xD

I'm still hopeful to get a new television before I seriously delve in to more games. It's so difficult to read all of the bonuses and what not in the character creation on my television xD

It's more personal that way, don't you think? Aww, I hope they do come out with a V. I love this game too much for them to stop!!!
Yeah, same. My TV was made a month before I was born, and it's kinda crappy. It only gets like 17 channels, and half are static. On the other hand, it was free and has a VHS player, so what am I complaining about? Haha :D

lol - I spent my tax money the last year of my employment on a nice BIG flatscreen. We shopped around for ages to find the biggest size for the best price, with motion smoothing technology so it wouldn't be all blocky when the screen moved fast, like a lot of the cheaper big screens do. I'm very happy with my 42".

I'm a giant size queen, and I won't go smaller than fifty inches. Omnom. So delicious.

I'll probably end up taking my brother with me when I end up going television shopping for real. He knows things. Or at least, he thinks he knows things xD And he's so convincing, too lol

...Mine's...10"...lol I'm still a broke college student, so it works for me :D
My cousin's like that, only I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say I'm sure he knows some things, at least...lol XD
He did build a computer with the help of his older brother, and hooked it up to a huge ass flat screen. It's amazing and scary at the same time, haha :D

I just watch everything on my computer. I haven't owned a TV in about seven years. Haven't watched television in over a decade.

Ah, so you only play PC games then, and not PS3/Xbox type stuff. Or... do you not play games much at all?

Ah sou ka :0
my dad owns a 54" TV, and he put in speakers in the ceiling. And there are 2 on the ground so you could say we have surround sound. oh also in that room, the lights are uh, what do you call them? They are gradual. Not simply on/off.
The only bad thing about having 1000+ movies is that my dad pirated them all and could go to jail very easily -_- (I don't mind mentioning this because he deserves it .... ^^")

And on the note of SoulCalibur 5, I looked it up and Harada was asked to make it, but he said he will ask the rest of the staff, and they decided they would under the condition that they got enough signatures.

Hmm, I hope I don't spend too much in Japan. xD
I am not used to spending money much in America. It might be something to do comparing cost and worth hahaha. I'm not sure. Or maybe I just spent because I was on vacation : P But yeahh I so did not save my money when I went lol. $300 was gone pretty fast just going to the mall XD But then, I guess it is okay because at that point I sincerely wasn't sure when I'd be coming back - if it would be 5 years, 6, maybe 10, or 15. My dad is under the impression that I will never go back -_- yaaa riighhhht.

Are any of your family members or friends like that? On the cynical side of if you'll actually get (and stay) there the way that your plans are?

私の親友の知り合いは、中国から帰る時に、piratedDVDsを百まいぐらい持っているから、お父さん やお母さんは、家族の家をre-mortageしなければならないそうだ。

(Gah, that was probably grammatical murder. What I'm trying to say is, my best friend's acquaintance, when coming back from China, was caught with several hundred pirated DVDs. Her parents had to mortgage the house to pay the fine.)

A bit confusing, but no, not grammatical murder. It might have made more sense if you split up the sentences more but I'm not sure :0 It makes general sense though at least xD Thanks for the explanation.

And yeah, my dad has 1,000+ so I wouldn't be surprised at all if he lost the house for it. -_- which.... ridiculous, I know, but he has had for 20 years and not paid off yet -__-

Well, lol. They haven't even started making it yet unless within a few weeks a month they got enough signatures. XD Which is ehh, not so sure what their minimum expectation would be.

Ah, but playing videogames and participating in fan activities IS life. I just read a published scholarly article on it!

Haha, that's true, I just meant a life outside my apartment.
Then again, as long as you're having fun, you're not wasting time, so I guess what I'm doing is worthwhile in its own way :D

My students got into an interesting discussion on our last day of class about online life vs. real life -- we were watching Ghost in the Shell.

Hmm that would be an interesting topic. Online life is kind of nicer in a way. You can edit what you say before you say it...lol
I've never watched that anime before. Any good?

We were discussing the film and its music, which is really quite interesting. I haven't seen the series.

So what kind of films do you like? I like most genres, but I'm currently on an old musical binge.
