Mardi Gras is Fat Tuesday (today). Here in Louisiana, they have parades with floats and throw beads and stuff. Basically, it's a huge celebration before Lent starts tomorrow. So it's a Catholic based thing, but really it's just a big excuse to party now.

Yeah. I used to have a lot of fun when Mardi Gras was here, but over the last few years it hasn't been as fun. I didn't even bother going to a parade this year. The weather today is gross anyway all wet and muggy and warm but windy.

Oh yes, parades can be sooooooooo crowded. The last time I went to one, it was hot and crowded and nobody would throw us beads. They'd throw to all the underaged girls, but nothing to anyone else. It was ridiculous. It really rained on my parade so to speak. I mean, you really don't need to be giving underaged girls jello shots. WTF.
