I want 243856 pairs of leggings, but my momma would be like ??? and ask my sisters about it, and they would disapprove of the leggings-as-pants thing and I would never own leggings again.

Tellem what you wear is your business. Otherwise you'll interfere in what they wear too. Threaten them if logic doesn't work

My parents are the authoritative type. They get to rule all my choices because they brought me into the world, and I can say nothing, even if I'm fifty.

Same here actually. But it's not like I asked to be born. So I'll try to assert that my life is my life... once I'm 18
though that mightn't work bc I'll tecnically still be dependent on them

Yes, the education system, where you'll know all about the unit circle but not what buying a house or renting an apartment is like.

I think it's surprising how many important life skills are not taught in schools to prepare students for independent living, it's unfortunate.

Yeah and what a lot of nonsense is taught. Why do I have to know everything about the anatomy and life cycle of a cockroach? When I see one I'm just gonna scoop it up and fling it out of the window anyway.

Oh, school system. When the teacher admits the material is useless, it's a great motivator.

Yeah, like my physics teacher broke and said all she was teaching is was crap that wouldn't help us lead better lives in any way. It's true. I can't imagine how knowing a formula for a magnetic field inside a solenoid is gonna save my life when a hurricane strikes.

I love when teachers/professors are passionate about their field and can connect the material to real-life situations.

Buying a house or renting apartment, though -- better learned through actual experience than in classroom, in my opinion. They could tell you to keep an eye out for mouse droppings and things like that, but it's completely different when you're actually going to a zillion open houses and applying.

I need that. I need every lesson to be a metaphor about life.

I still live with my parents so that's my problem. And I love leggings as pants.

See, I wouldn't have minded formal education nearly as much if it taught more useful things too! And if it allowed one to specialise sooner. I always knew I wanted to go into biology; if my high school English classes had started to prepare me for technical writing, that would have been way more useful.

Leggings are so much better than skinny jeans. Softer and better in heat.

I look forward to when I'm not living with my parents anymore and can wear sleeveless stuff and stuff that's above the knee. Sometimes I really like some clothes with which that's the only problem and I hate giving them up.

That's my only problem with education: it's so useless. And now with competition and stuff it's horrible. Education is supposed to equip you to live. It's not supposed to be the whole point of life.

Hi, everyone!

At least you become well rounded because of the education?
