As for Vanitas's face, I don't think the Final Episode explains anything about that. XD But if you think back to the beginning of the game when Xehanort is going to leave Ventus on Destiny Island and Ventus has that whole talk with the light fading from his heart and then Sora joins his heart with Ventus's to keep it from fading. That's why Vanitas looks like him. Because of Sora connecting with Ventus's heart.
