At least 7 hours, I'm sure. I didn't do this all in one go, though. I sketch traditionally because I'm better at it that way. It's a self-portrait, sort of. I just realized.. I haven't really painted digitally in a while..Not a person, at least.

Don't call your art lame, Kat, I'm sure it's great!

Gah, I'm in an advanced art class right now that makes me spend at least twenty hours on each of my projects. It drives me crazy, yet causes me to produce some good work. I don't do digital, I prefer hand drawn myself.

Self portraits must be difficult.

I don't like portraits really. I'm better at anime than realistic people. I prefer animals and anime.

I think that good anime is very difficult to draw also.

Self portraits can be nasty. I always feel that I miss something when I do portraits of myself.

Anime is easier than realism because anime also gives you the freedom of style, which makes mistakes easier to hide, in my opinion.

I have a style that leans towards realism but has an anime touch to it, seeing that I learned to draw first with anime.

I have a talent for it. I made some nice stuff recently, but I can't work on the comic novel I was doing because I'm too busy with class.

I'm afraid I have no artistic talent whatsoever.

While this is true, industries are looking for people who can draw realistic things first, then stylize them after as needed. If you're a casual artist, then it's not something to worry about. Anime is my usual style as well, though, and that's also how I first learned to draw, but mastering the basics is crucial.

Also, I'd like to tell you all my honest opinion on creativity and talent. These two aren't "gifts" necessarily. yes certain people are more inclined towards it than others, but really it's something that can be learned by anyone, even people with no hands.

I'm majoring in art and never do anime in classes, but its what I do on the side. I don't think I'm good with my other art styles enough.

I have done some work with wire twisting.
I make very good copper trees.

Wire poked me really hard once, but aside from that it's fun to work with X'D

I use a long-nosed needle nosed pliers. That seemed to work very well.

Very true. I am, however, a casual artist and only do realism when forced or if I feel like it. Realism drains me.

Your statement on artistic talent is also true, though I must say that I've met people that just can't draw no matter what they do. Lol. A lack of passion, most likely, or self-doubt.

All people have the ability to do something artistic, be it drawing or not.

@Granny: I like metal work too. I do jewelry in my spare time every now and then.

I love rocks and minerals.

I used to sell them at small fairs and art shows.
I would make my gem trees and some jewelry.

I'm afraid that we don't do that anymore. The rocks got too heavy for my husband to handle, and my hands don't do too well with the fine wire work anymore.

*Smacks Head* That Chance game got me again. *Sigh*

I love rocks/stones and minerals. The meanings behind them are especially precious to me. I would take a moonstone over a diamond any day.

Anyway, it's late where I am, so I think that I'll mosey off to bed and come back for another cup of tea tomorrow evening.

Ciao, everyone!

Remember when that was the only game.. I used to be quite good at it!

Hello.

I took a darker theme this Valentine's.

Yes, I believe it is unfair, Kat.
It happens much too often for it to be random.
