Ora had watched Tony go to his room and relaxed against the cave wall as she looked out at the barely lit desert. She looked at James as he came up and wished Tony or his mother were there... just so she didn't feel as though he would hurt her. "I... I... um... huh Tony said it might not be such a good idea if I tried to leave after I had passed out the... second time?... I can be out of here at any time you'd like if you do not wish me to stay... I just don't know how you feel about other shifters... so..." she said softly and looked down at the ground under his feet not knowing how he would react.

(You do realize your characters name is Tony and not Toby right?)

James nodded at this, though his expression was as hard as ever, as he took a few strides closer to her. With a sigh, he leaned against the side of the old car and tapped it aimlessly with his knuckles.
"Well, if you passed out again i suppose it would have been bad to just dump you off at that house all alone..." he said, seeming to think deeply about some topic as he did.
"Your a shifter then?" He asked, snapping out of his thought abruptly, "To tell you the truth it doesn't change my feelings about having you here. Im not trying to be rude, just cautious. Ive known a few shifters outside of my own family, i dont have anything against them really but i dont trust them ether...Id ask you to leave now if I didnt think Toby would have a fit about it. So you can stay for a wile i guess..."

"Ow... I see and it's quite understandable... Especially not trusting someone with my records... I'll be out of here as soon as I can be..." Ora said softly as she looked out of the cave again wishing she could just go ahead and leave right then... Though knew that wouldn't be too good of an idea in her state.

"Where are you from exactly?" He asked, though it seemed like he hardly cared, "If you remember that is. And, these people who are chasing you...who are they exactly, if you even know...Im asking because i dont want to get involved with this, and id like to know who they are should they come looking and make us their enemy..."

"I don't know where I'm from and there's too many people after me I can't even remember who the last group was... probably just some merchants I ticked off... again I'm not sure... sorry..." Ora said softly not looking back at him.

(Sorry I vanished for a few was at my cousins and she didn't have internet or wifi anywhere.... Though I'm back now....)

James seemed angered at this but didnt take it out on her at the moment, "Thats fine i suppose. It would have been useful to know but you cant tell what you dont know i suppose. I wont hold it against you. Though, this means i-we...have to be more vigilant i suppose...Tell me...once you go to this house how exactly do you expect to survive off of this...well...barren landscape?"

Ora paused for several long moments as she thought and finally looked up at James unsure. "I... I already had some food there and there's a small under ground spring where I get clean cold water from... though once my food runs out... I'm not too sure... I guess I'll have to go find more or use the money I had earned not too long ago to buy some more... It wouldn't be much though it'll have to do..." she said softly and looked down thinking about the little things she had and the low suplies she had and hoped it would be enough to live off of for a while.

Jason nodded solemnly at this, "Well...its seems you've planned ahead, if only just so. Thats good. I dont feel so bad now about making you go. I was, and still may be willing, to offer you some help...but we have noting to give im afraid. Were not a well off family even when we live in our house, this is only our residence for a short time during the year, and we havent brought back much in kills. So our charity is limited...Though i do feel for you on some level."

Ora nodded slowly and quietly. "It's fine I understand... It's been a dry year and season... I just need some help getting back to the house if that's not too much trouble... after that you won't have to worry about me... I was planning on moving soon... it's not good to stay in one place for too long..." she said softly leaning her head against the cave wall again staring at the ceiling for a long few moments then closed her eyes taking a deep breath.

James nodded in approval.
"Yes, Ill be happy to let someone take you over, i wouldnt send you out there after you nearly shriveled up and died in it just yesterday. Im sure this wont be the last you'll see of us though if your staying any length of time. And to add to it, Tony, unfortunately, has taken a bit of a liking to you, you might find it hard now to get rid of him. He can get a bit...obsessive with people."

"Huh... I can see that already... why anyone would want to hang around with someone like me I have no clue..." Ora said and laughed slightly though it was a hallow one... one that held no true joy or contentment in the least.

"I think its because hes bored," James said coldly, seeming to agree with her that she held no friendly appeal to anyone, "And your something new to him. He doesnt get out much unfortunately, and he lives in a cave with just his family for months on end and really no technology, so hes interested in following you around like a baby duck. Thats my theory at least."

Ora's mouth twitched slightly at this and she felt... bad... "You're probably right..." she said softly and felt as though she were choking on the words though that didn't show... and it couldn't be heard any different then her normal soft voice.

James sighed slightly, seeming to ignore the girl for a few moments.
"Well..." He said, "Would you like something for breakfast? All we have is cornflakes and coffee but your free to have some if you like"

"If it's not too much trouble I would love some... I haven't eaten in a few days..." Ora said softly as she looked back at James still feeling that all he wanted was for her to leave... she didn't even feel as though he even cared if she was to die right there just as long as she wasn't a burden to his family.

James nodded, "Its fine...This way..."
He said and walked a bit deeper into the cave. He led her carelessly into one chamber in particular which could only be described as a dining room. It was a simple chamber, with a small hearth that was unlit in the hot daylight hours, a few simple wooden tables and stools, which looked almost as old and dingy as the cave itself, to make it look more like a kitchen and an old white refrigerator and coffee pot hooked up to a generator that looked very much out of place in the cave.
James, not even turning back to look at her, went to a shelf that was carved out of the rock and took down two cups and a bowl, including some cereal that looked ancient. With a little nod he handed the bowl, cereal, and cup to her before pouring her and himself some coffee.

Ora frond as she stumbled getting to her feet unsteadily and fallowed James... though didn't stay that close. She looked around the dining area then looked at the cereal and felt like denying his offer when she saw how old it looked... though she was too hungry to care. She ate slowly and was shocked to find that it didn't taste near as bad as it looked... though she hid the fact that she gagged slightly on the coffee...

James didnt notice hardly anything that Ora did from that point on as he stared off at the cave wall, off in his own little world as he drank his coffee. They sat there for some minuets in silence before someone entirely new entered the kitchen. The woman was rather short, with inky black hair made into a boy cut that somehow made her look even more feminine. She smiled cheerily at her as she entered the room.
"Hello there," The woman said warmly as she walked up next to Ora, "So your our little visitor. James told me that you were leaving last night, i thought i would miss you compleetly."
James actually seemed to wake up a bit at her arival but somehow didnt seem very exited to see her as she greeted Ora happily.
"Im so glad i didnt. I'm Diana. And you are...Ora is it?" she asked and offered her hand in welcome.

"Ora Theif, it's nice to meat you Diana... Well... I was supposed to leave last night though I passed out again so Tony said he didn't feel comfurtable with me trying to make my way back to my house... So... Here I am though I should be leaving before too awful long..." Ora said smiling as she took the girls hand and shook it lightly seeming happy to have a nice conversation with someone that seem to like her pressence.

"Well, its very nice to meet you Miss Thief," She said in a friendly tone before sitting down next to her, "I'm so glad your alright, i heard you gave Tony quite a scare. I checked in on him, hes out cold, you wore him out good."
She laughed a bit at that and turned to steal a few dry conflakes from the box.
"Ether way I'm so glad we have you here, even if grumpy gills over there is trying to ship you off," She said with a grin, refering to James who was scowling at her angrily, "We dont get to meet other shifters very often, or anyone else for that matter in this silly desert, its very..." She paused for a moment as if to think of the right word, "refreshing to have a new face in the pack."

"Well it's nice for me to meet other kinder shifters also though... I don't think I'll be staying very long at all... I don't want to be a berdon on anyone... And I've been told I'm quite a berdon by many people..." Ora said softly looking away staring back into the part of the cave they had came from before.

"I wonder who would have told you that..." She said, looking accusingly at James.
"What?" He asked almost inocently.
"Your unbelievable..." Diana huffed.
"What!?" He asked again but much angryer.
"This girl almost died and, from what ive heard, has no family and barely anywere to go that shes a burden on you?" She said with conviction in her tone.
"Well..." He said.
"Your EVIL!" She shrieked.
"Im not evil, just sensible!"
"How is that even remotely-"
"OH Shut up!" He barked, cutting her off angrily.
"Ora, you can stay as long as you like, just ignore everything he says," Diana said suddenly, turing to Ora with an evil glint in her eye.
"Di!!" James exclaimed.
"Eeeverything he says," She chuckled.

"Thank you." Ora smiled softly at Diana greatful for her kindness. Why would anyone care about me like Tony and Diana seen to? I don't deserve it... I never have deserved it... And yet... They still seem to care and take an Interest in my lowly existance... she thought quietly with a soft sigh as she lightly pushed the half empty bowl away from her not seeming to have eaten very much.

"Honey its the least we can do," Diana said with a smile and took the bowl from her kindly.
"Not the leas-" James grumbled.
"Im sorry i thought we made it clear that you no longer are apart of this conversation," She said, shooting him a triumphant sort of look. Surprisingly, after a moment of his face boiling up to an angry beat red, James actually let out a loud huff, and left the room muttering something allong the lines of, "Fine...but if we have to start killing people off for food im eating you first"
Diana just giggled at this, "Hes so cute when hes mad. Even though hes almost fourty he still listens to his big sis like he was five," She looked down at the corn flakes then, "Are you done with these?"

"Ow... uh... yeah... I'm not too hungry actually... well... I just feel sick to my stomach is all..." Ora sighed looking at the bowl of cereal and felt her stomach twist slightly. She thought deeply as she looked off to the front of the cave again and thought of her life and how twisted it was. Just one thing after another... this won't be here long might as well enjoy it while they let me stay... she thought then sighed again inwardly.
