Families can be rough.

I'm heerrre. :) We're thinking about spending our Memorial three day weekend in Oklahoma this weekend. I'm stressing out about it a little bit but it feels like the right thing to do. It's about a 7 hour drive from us here in Texas and we'd need two nights hotel, plus food. So it's going to be our savings plus anything that would have gone into savings this month. Like I said, stress. But it feels right anyway.

Oh, you don't watch the news. ^^; Lol I was like, jeeze Kiyo, you're morbid. So far what's looking like one of the worst tornadoes in history touched down in OK yesterday. We were going to go to help look for bodies and help residents salvage what little wasn't basically disintegrated.

I know, some of them were in my friend's hometown. U,U that part is sad yes, but that dosn't mean that getting out of the hous and spending time with the family has to be...

I'm glad your friends weren't hurt. We have family near there. But although we won't let the trip be depressing and negative, I can't imagine having any fun while finding people's pets, friends, family members... helping them find what little is left of their old lives; photo albums, videos, baby things. I can't imagine many smiling faces or groups of happy, laughing people, you know? It's not going to be our usual summer vacation, to say the least. There are people there who have lost everything and so many insurance companies find every single way to deny coverage or give the minimum possible.

Lives and families have been forever injured in a very horrific way, you know? There are times when spending time with family is a special thing that no one can trample on, but a trip like this is just a sad thing. We only want to go to help others try and find peace and piece themselves back together. To be there for them in their time of need. So many people I would hope would do the same for us. It feels like the right thing to do.
