Ciara looked at her feet and jumped up and down several times, "No more floating Papa-..Eric." She blushed and looked down, not realizing she'd been calling him that.

He patted her on the head, "that's alright little one" Eric assured, "Stay indoors for now just to make sure, I'm going to help Charles to the infirmary" he offered his friend a hand in going to see their resident doctor.

Ciara followed along, not really wanting to be alone and feeling bad about Charlie but she kept her distance as they approached the infirmary, eyeing the place from the door way. Hiding most of her body along the wall beside it.

Eric helped Charles into one of the beds and then ran off to fetch Hank who hurried into the room and grabbed his lab coat quickly and came to examine the telepathic mutant.

Ciara whimpered when she saw the lab coat and hurried back down the hallway. The only way the 3 men knew she had been in the door way was the fact that a vase with flowers on it, shattered in the hallway beside the door.

Ciara found her way back to the room Hank called Library. She opened the door and was speechless. "ooooo..." She said softly, slowly entering this cave of treasures. So many colours and sizes of rectangles on wooden shelves, a large window, a large globe of the world and a big comfy looking chair.

She'd never seen such pretty things as these rectangles. They were foreign to her but her curiosity was overwhelmed by what they were. She wasn't tall enough for the first shelf so she reached with all her might her fingers just out of reach. She looked much like a child trying to reach a cookie jar on a table.

Suddenly another small hand reached up and took the book down from where she was reaching. A scrawny boy with red sunglasses offered it to her bashfully, "i-is this what you wanted?"

"Hm?" She flowed the hand to the boy and nodded, reaching out to take the book. "What is it?" She asked, putting the book on the room and running her hands along the cover.

"err..." he looked at the title, "The adventures of Huckleberry Finn. It's a bit advanced, um... maybe the books over here would be easier for you?" he pointed to a small section of thin books.

"..bhooks...brooks...Books?" She said trying to sound it out. "This is a Books?" She asked, exicitedly. "What does it do?" She poked it, "Tell me, tell me!" She asked pulling on his sleeve.

The boy stared at her like she was crazy, "You've never seen a book before?" he questioned, "where did they dig you up from? Or... maybe you just don't remember, I don't remember much either"

Ciara looked up at awe for a moment before getting up and giving him a hug, "You're broken too? I'm Ciara."

"ah-h-hi, I'm Scott" he seemed a little bit taken aback by her but gave her a slight hug in return none-the-less. He shifted a bit awkwardly on his feet before pointing to the children's books, "w-well... err, I guess you don't know how to read if you don't know what a book is" he spoke rather quickly, "w-would you like me to read you a story?"

"Yes please, Scottie!" She smiled warmly, pulling him over to the smaller books and picking a random one which he took off the shelf. She slipped into his lap without much warning and eagerly awaited the magic that was a book.

"Ah!" Scott yelped as he was easily dragged across the room and thrown into the chair. There really wasn't much weight to him at all, "I-okay! Okay... um... th-this is" he turned the book over so that it was right side up and he adjusted the sunglasses on his face, "The little engine that could." he began.

Ciara pointed at each word on the front of the book, "The...Little...Engine...That...COULD!" she said excitedly, looking up to see if she pronounced it right before letting Scott read.

Scott chuckled and nodded, going through the rest of the book, he pointed to each word so that she would know what it looked like, and when they were done he began explaining the letters and their sounds in more detail.

Ciara's eyes lit up and she touched each page like it was the most precious thing in the whole world. She caught on quickly and was helping read along with Scott.

The rain outside had continued. It was a sunny day everywhere else but around the mansion.

"You're so smart, Scottie." She reached up and kissed his cheek, "Another book?"

Scott blushed and flustered about his words, "I-um-well-I suppose, okay, sure."

Ciara picked the National Geographic Little Kids First BIG book of Dinosaurs and settled in for a good read before her stomach began to roar. Dinner was approaching quickly.

It had been Charles' turn to make dinner but with his noggin bumped Eric decided to take it upon himself to make the all some spaghetti. As suppertime approached, Scott showed Ciara where the books they had been reading belonged on the shelves and showed her back to the kitchen area. They set the table together and the small group that current lived in the large mansion gathered to eat together. It was only Eric, Charles with a bandage on his head, Hank, Scott and now Ciara.

Ciara took Scott's hand and followed him down to the kitchen. She pouted when she saw the bandage on Charles and wasn't able to look at him.

She'd never had spaghetti before. She started picking it up with her fingers, not sure how to eat it.

Before the adults could even interject, Scott stepped in and began showing her how to use the fork and to swirl it around in the spoon. "And it tastes even better with parmigian" he added.

Ciara watched eagerly, wanting to learn as quickly as possible. Her twirling of the fork on the spoon needed some work but she was getting the basic idea after a few tries. "Parmigiana... Parmigian... Parmesan! Parmesan." She repeated, rather proud of herself for mastering the word.

She let Scott sprinkle a dash on her fork of spaghetti and took a bite. Instantly, she wiggled happily in her seat. "MMMMMMMMM!" After which, everyone's glass shattered, minus Ciara's which happened to be plastic.

She jumped along side everyone else as the glass broke. She looked at the glasses, a saddened look on her face. She kept breaking things. And within a few seconds of her pouting, the pipes in the kitchen burst.

Ciara quickly pushed her chair away from the table and ran away crying. She was in trouble now for sure. She kept breaking things.

Scott let out a startled yelp and immediately moved to cover Ciara so she wouldn't get hit by any of the flying glass. He stumbled when she realized he had run off and looked around in puzzlement, "Ciara?" he called after her.

"Oh my" Charles frowned.

"I'll go get her" eric stood with a sigh.

"a-actually" Scott shuffled his feet, "w-would it b-be okay if-"

"Go ahead Scott" Charles encouraged

Eric gave his friend a look, "Honestly charles, I can-"

"Give Scott a chance" Charles nodded, "I think he knows what to do"

Scott nodded and quickly took off to find the little girl.

Ciara was curled up under a bed. She wasn't sure who's room it was but all she knew is that she wanted to hide away from everyone.

She was scared. Everything kept breaking. She couldn't control it, couldn't make it stop, couldn't do anything. She'd grabbed a blanket on the bed before going under and wrapped herself in it. Sobbing. She just wanted it to stop.
