It is a good way to relax. I think I have, now looking back, always used it when I was stressed and needed a warm drink to just relax and curl up with. The first time I had it, this amazing guy named Owen came up to where some camp staff were chilling in their room with his big box of tea packets. He made me tea and so I not only got that drink comfort, but also emotional comfort as you can only get when someone you know you can trust takes care of you. He was always good at that... helping others. I wonder who helps him?

I have wondered that many times too maiden. I miss Owen; camp was not the same this year without him. I wonder if he will be able to come back for the wedding. Sorry, got off topic. Hot drinks always soothe me, especially if I can sit sipping them in front of a fire.

Speaking of him...

1. Once when I was having a stressful year, my mom called the dean who called security and arranged for me to just ride around with security on college campus for an hour... away from everything that stressed me. Owen was the driver, and he gave me his blue tooth and let me talk to his girlfriend for that hour.

2. A tornado storm blew through camp and the staff were hanging out down in the back of the basement. I curled up on the cement floor and leaned against the freezer to try to sleep. He came over with a pillow so I could sleep more comfortably.

Warm drinks, caffeine or not, do make the world a better place.

His last year at camp, when he was the assistant director, there was a night near the end when I was not feeling good. It was Travis' night off so I went Owen to see if I could skip campfire and just go to bed early. He said yeah, so I went to go try and sleep, (I was staying with the counselors at the time because I couldn't get any sleep in the staff cabin). Two girls were in there on there night off, (wont mention names as you know them), and they were making noise, flipping lights on and just completely ignoring me lying there trying to sleep. I asked them if they could maybe go somewhere else or turning it down so I could sleep. They just blew me off and said there was nowhere else to go, (staff lounge? Staff cabin?) so I finally went to Owen. He came up and lit into them and made them knock it off.

Now that is what I am talking about. Owen is awesome!

Back to coffee... well, with Owen, tea... that is when I realized I liked drinking the stuff... which led to me drinking coffee ;)

I grew up with tea, hot chocolate and cider. It wasn't until I started working at Camp Heritage that I had my first cup of coffee. Sadly it doesn't affect me. I took a two hour nap after that first cup. I just drink it because I have come to like the taste, with a little sugar.

See I am the other way. I like a little sugar, but I can go without cream, though I like it too.

I think she will too. I always thought that they should do horses, I mean we have foxes, deer, pandas. Why no horses?

i drink coffee when i have to. i prefer soda. tea is ok. however all of these things in ecess is so bad for you. But that doesn't mean stop drinking them. cuz then you'd drive yourself nuts over you "fix". energy drinks however just putting it out there. have a deadly amount of caffine in them. and can quicken your heartrate. if you drink energy drinks...be careful how much you consume. about 7/10 people who drink energy drinks have heart problems when they get older. 2/10 have heartattacks from drinking too much of it.

Good to know. I only drink energy drinks when I am on a long drive and can't stay awake. They JUST barely keep me awake.

I'm not a fan of energy drinks... and find that snacking on chocolate does fine keeping me up for the longest drive I need to make... or did need to make... from college down to home.

Yeah, I usually try other things. I find that chewy things or gum helps me stay awake.

I find it harder for me to fall asleep if my jaw is working.

It does help. I like to call people on speaker phone... but if they do all the talking (which is usually the case) then it doesn't work.

Yeah that does make it harder. My parents like to listen to books on tape but those just make me sleepy.
