I have old-school anime posters on my wall; Macross, Aa! Megami-sama!, Shoujo Kakumei Utena, and Evangelion. I've got a couple more around here someplace, but I don't feel like putting them up.

I play video games, I collect Japanese action figures and figurines, I dress up as cartoon characters for fun, and a good third of my admittedly somewhat small manga collection is either shoujo or romance(omg, Victorian Romance Emma is one of the best manga EVAR, hnnnnnnnnnnnnnng). Anyone who calls me immature can go do something unprintable with themselves... and then I'll tell them "so?".

Or something like that.

PS: I know the manga is out of print, but Nozomi/Right Stuf has a couple subbed episodes of Emma on Youtube for free; I really need to get the entire series some day. Legit, of course.

I've always enjoyed reading picture books (even before I could actually read the accompanying text), any books with illustrations, no matter what the target audience age was...

I have also always enjoyed watching cartoons and any animated feature length films or anime (at a time when I didn't even know of the term anime but just thought they were cartoons with prettier art style)

And because it seemed like enjoying these things was something that I would eventually grow out of as I matured/grew up I wondered when I was younger (like under 10 years old) what age this growing out of would happen...

As a 28 year old I still love all these things...I still sometimes borrow picture books from the children's section of the local library, because I can...

In fact I have two in my possession at the moment, one is called Herman and Rosie by Gus Gordan...I haven't read it yet but I got it because it looked cute with the two title characters being animals in human clothing who according to the blurb, live in New York city, not far from one another.

I also borrowed a picture book called The Great Escape from the City Zoo...written by Tohby Riddle. I think it is one I'd borrowed many years ago, because it looks familiar. I borrowed it again this time, but a translated version in Chinese for Chinese reading people which I found in the foreign language items section. I chose this particular book as a way to practise my Chinese reading comprehension, you know, start with reading something aimed at children so hopefully at a simpler level..the good thing about this particular one is that the book also kept the original English text throughout and only edited to add Chinese translated text in the blank space as well as the title. The English title is also on the front cover but I actually had to flip through to the copyright page to find the English name of the author...

My potted theory.

I like cute stuff, which isn't something that I'm doing as such, but is the same kind of thing. I have a very cute bag that I use when I'm wearing my hot pink winter coat.

Both the bag and the pink coat are a "younger" thing to do, I'm sure, but I get compliments on both. That tells me that other people like them, and, that it's unusual enough to be comment-worthy. As so many people wear boring black winter coats and have boring black bags...

I'm utterly convinced my mum would make some comment about my bag being childish if she could think of a way of saying it without offending me. The fact that she's avoided refering to it at all says it all to me xD My sister, who's 31, thinks it's cute...

If something you enjoyed when you were younger still gives you pleasure now, keep doing it! Because the nostalgic element that is bound into that enjoyment makes it so much more of a good thing. Most people are at their happiest as a kid (see my initial statement) so doing something as a "grown up" that gave you pleasure as a kid helps you to relive a part of the unfettered joy of being a kid. Wonderful for your stress levels, and probably helps you to remember some of the good aspects of being human, instead of focusing on the bad, which is what a lot of adults do.

People forget the simple joy they felt as a kid, if there are ways out there that let you recapture that feeling, why deny yourself this because someone else thinks it's immature behaviour? Screw them, it's your life not theirs.
I have the pink version of that same exact bag! Super cute. ; u;

Hmmm let's see. I watch tv shows and cartoons with target audiences probably younger than me. Also I enjoy the occasional accessory or piece of clothing from the H&M children's section! I swear their prints and jewelry are the best.
I like naps and overalls. At McDonald's I still want the toy, unless it's really dumb. I don't eat meat so I just get french fries and the toy, haha.
I count the cars if a train passes by, and sometimes I like to step on only the white stripes on a crosswalk, but I try to do it so that no one will notice, haha. I think I do more stuff like this but right now can't think of any.

Oh, and that too. My former neighbors had a trampoline and once their dog got loose and terrorized us from underneath it. I also like the rides in amusement parks where you're in a harness on cords and you can jump high and flip around in the air.

I've never got to play in a ball pit OR on a trampoline.

Trampolines are absolutely something that would be in the Menewsha™ playgrounds!

I wear graphic tees, play pokemon games (though not as much as in 7th grade when I was addicted to Pokemon) and have posters in my bedroom of my favorite franchises and characters (which will reduce greatly for my smaller bedroom in the place we're moving to in June). I also still have several stuffed animals though I haven't slept with any since high school. Though I haven't for years and their selection has decreased in quality I still enjoy going Build-A-Bear workshop (and to be fair it didn't exist at least around here until I was a freshman in high school, so I never had the option of going when I was in the appropriate age group).

After I get all clean and warm in the shower I drop the plug and splash around in water up to my ankles. It's too small for a bath and sometimes you just want to pretend like you're in a pool.

Alex I've done that. It's fun. XD
I also turn the draining water into a whirlpool and stick my finger in it without touching the walls of the water.

That whirlpool thing is fun. I used to do that all the time when I took more baths rather than showers.

My best friend tells me I'm too old to stick my head out a car window like a dog. She also told me I was too drunk and needed to buckle up before she would drive off. XD

I might be too old to watch Clifford the Big Red Dog, too, but I do it anyway. >.>

Cartoons, cute things like Hello Kitty. Sometimes I wish children clothing would fit me because it's so cute.

I've been called immature before because any sort of phone conversations make me really anxious.

Just how is that a sign of immaturity. o.o I hate making phone calls. I'm a bit better about it now, but it got almost to phobic levels at one point. Don't see how that makes me immature. : /

I guess whoever said that is trying to shame you out of your phone issues by saying this to you. That's a real affective method for things. It's something my mum used to do when I was a kid. >.>

I wonder why phone anxiety is so common? I have it as well. I absolutely loathe calling people.

I happen to have phone anxiety as well. Back in the day, I used to be anxious even calling my best friends, though I'm kind of more used to it now. I'm still anxious about calling people I've never called before, especially people that I haven't ever met in person. This applies to sending emails as well.

I think this may be a thing because with phone calls/emails people could interpret things really differently than what I meant? Like, once I called a friend of mine, Erin, and her dad answered, and I think I might have mispronounced her name (hey, I'm Polish - I actually call her by a nickname whenever I'm talking to or about her). Next thing I know, her dad got angry at me, thinking I'm some kind of salesperson (because I have an accent), so I had to explain why I'm calling. After understanding that I'm actually calling to talk to his daughter, he did apologise, but to this day I'm worried about mispronouncing words and names with phone calls. With emails and voice-mail messages (shudder!) it's worse, because you can't explain yourself if the person hearing/reading you message doesn't understand what you meant. And also, you can't put emotions into formal emails, because it's not like you can write 'hahaha' or put a smiley face in there.

Idk though, maybe there's a completely different reason ^^'

There's probably a bunch of reasons for it as a broad spectrum of people are bothered by it. But it's a pain in the butt whatever they are -.- Never used to bother me though! Maybe part of it for me is the negative associations I have with the phone now.

I get really red in the face and stutter a lot when on the phone, especially important phone calls. With friends things are fine though. I'm not sure what that's about.

Also, I still play on playgrounds.
