Yep. We call monsters here aswang (pronounced ass-wahng) or wakwak (wack-wack). They like to eat and steal children. We have a whole lotta monsters here, kapre, tikbalang, nuno sa punso, agta, kikik, sigbin, manananggal, those are what I can remember at the moment.

Mum doesn't believe in them but I think she doesn't want to believe in them. When I was little, my nanny could see things, it was in their family. My nanny freaked my mum out because she said whenever she wakes up in the middle of the night feeling cold, there's always this aswang with glowing red eyes outside the window of my room watching me sleeping while I was still a little kid and that the aswang was floating upside-down.
I was told that I attract a lot of... those-things-that-shouldn't-be-named. So mum insists I have a holy oil in my bedroom and a wakizashi beside my bed.

@Zira Angel - I'll accept it but I'm no longer active in Gaia. I was only ever really active there because of zOMG! lol

Then all the more reason to keep safe.

My family has already been called sensitive. Like, mom's side of the family. My sister takes more after dad on the sensitivity to these things. Which is to say, she refuses anything exists. I'm just much more cautious about declaring anything. But I like the scientific reasons for why people say some places are haunted. It's a comforting sort of feeling.

So your mum kinda believes in them after all! I wish I can make friends with the supernatural stuff, it would be fun!

I'd prefer less supernatural feeling, personally. Making friends with some would only invite trouble. There are good supernatural creatures, but there's a reason most are stories of caution.

@Zira - That's weird. I'm the only one in either sides of my family... oh, wait... Yeah. My grandmother's side on my dad's side does attract those kinds of things.

@Lexadis - Yeah. She's just in a state of denial. One time she took away the holy oil from my bedroom without me knowing and for three consecutive nights there was this deep but at the same time high-pitched sound like a mix between the sound a cricket mades and a crow outside my window. I ignored it at first, thinking it might be just some insect I didn't know but then it started to hit my window continuously and then it's make noisier sounds when it seems to get frustrated. Annoyed, I opened my blinds to see outside and I saw nothing and it went quiet. I finally mentioned it after the third night. Mum finally placed the holy oil back in my bedroom.

Yeah, if ever you do see ghosts of the people who doesn't want to move on, try your best to pretend you don't see them. If they notice that you can see them, they will go to you.

Sesti, I get a lot of worrying premonitions about people getting hurt. It's the worst when it is someone I haven't spoken to in awhile, and can't get hold of

And my sister once told me that the only reason she didn't get into a car crash one time, was because an hour or so before she had to leave (And I hadn't known at the time she was leaving, I was at my grandmother's), that she had to be super careful for the rest of the night. I was certain she'd get hurt somehow. Turns out, she almost got sideswiped by a semi, and would have been hit if she hadn't been on edge from my warning.

Also, that story is terrifying, Sesti @_@ At least you got the oil back.

We are doing creepy talk! You are welcome to join us. Any stories of monsters when you grew up? Or tales of the unexplained?

And yes, sweetspark o3o. I used to write A LOT of Transformers fanfic. It's still in my vocabulary because of it.

@Zira - Woah! That's the kind of gift I really want! Premonitions! I have zero talent for that. x_x I mean, you can save people's live with that, just like what happened to your sister

Yeah. I'm not really scared though. I've gotten used to it. I'm more likely to get annoyed with those things, especially when they make sounds. I've learned that when you get scared, it just makes them want to scare you even more. But if you ignore them, they'll just leave you. If they won't, act pissed off and they'll leave. They like it more when you're afraid of them, simple as that.

That story just happened last night, actually. Last night was when mum finally returned the holy oil in my room. Around 10pm I heard that crow/cricket noise and it sounded like it was about to come near to my window but flew away. My night last night was quiet again.

Yeah, premonitions are nice. But I think I get THAT from dad. We see the future in our dreams sometimes. It isn't the most helpful, though. It's little things, like knowing a single class you take in eleventh grade, and you barely remember it as is. Dad dreamed of him going to a concert as an adult when he was in second grade. He even drew a picture of it.

If we got something like lotto numbers, we'd be happier with it. It's mostly an annoyance we have to live with. And the biggest problem is not knowing if the dream will happen, or is just a dream. It comes and it goes.

The warning system is also pretty crap. It doesn't give specifics, and you have the entire time with your stomach turning backflips in worry over the person, unable to help.

I get bad instincts, like this man is going to die or she'll be tripping down the stairs and crack their head and things like that. They're so vivid. But they never actually happen, so I've given up believing them

Not really out of body. Maybe like sleep paralyses or something similar. I'm not sure >_>

It was ridiculous! I sleep with my back facing the window and at night, there is never any noise. Maybe like a random bird, but it's super quiet. Well, I closed my eyes and all of a sudden there were these noises from behind me. First I thought it was outside my window, but soon changed my mind. The noises were like a whole lot of animals all screeching together and mingled among them was these squeaky metal wheels. I would have turned around, but I got the feeling that I shouldn't. Like a weird feeling. I thought I was dreaming, but I'm positive that I wasn't. And then all of a sudden it stopped and I fell asleep and it was morning O_O

Makes me think of when I had pretty terrifying hallucinations when I accidentally took twice the amount of nerve pain killers than I should have. Only more auditory than visual.

Seems pretty scary!

You're too young to take the drugs needed for it. Brain chemistry is too easily messed up in the teens. Wait until you're older.
