I've never played any of them myself, but I have watched my brother play the first 2 enough times to realize they're very good and rather scary. Unfortunately, it's my understanding that it's much scarier when you play it rather than watch it, so I haven't gotten the full experience yet. I guess I'm a potential Silent Hill fan...

Actually I don't like the nurses at all. I can't actually think of any of the creatures I actually liked. The fact that the writers took the time to make everything mean something is what I liked.

Though I guess if you count Maria, I felt bad for her. Even if I didn't like her.

So... anyone really looking forward to Silent Hill 8? I've literally watched the trailer dozens of times.

As a true fan, I am deeply saddened by Akira Yamaoka's departure from Konami, as I love his work. The music he composes is synonymous with Silent Hill. But, I won't be so shortsided as to say that Silent Hill can't exist without him.

SH8's composer is Daniel Licht, best know for his work on Dexter. Like said, I love Yamaoka's work, but I will not deride Licht without giving him a chance.

I'm gonna be positive about Daniel Licht. I'd hate to be dismissive without really hearing any of the music yet.

But yeah, Yamaoka is wholly is his own creature. I don't think he can be truly replaced.

I've played Silent Hill but I haven't played it recently... due to my friend borrowing it lol (i also forgot which Silent Hill game it was). I really like how they created the creatures. The moments where the creatures show up are the moments that scare me sometimes.

I love Silent Hill! It is my top favorite video game series ever.

I love everything about it. The psychology part of the game is so amazing. I love that all of the monsters are symbols for different things inside the characters' minds.

My favorite game is probably Silent Hill 4: The Room. I actually avoided playing that game for a long time. I thought that it was gonna be lame. I heard that it wasn't originally intended to be a Silent Hill game, and that sort of turned me off. But I ended up trying it anyway. I LOVE it. I have only played through it once. I love Walter Sullivan. He is one of my favorite characters of the whole series. I love the fact that they used details from other games and included them in this one.

I also love that James' dad owned the apartment. I thought it was cool. And I love that they mention James going to Silent Hill with his wife, but never retuning. (Or something like that, my memory is bit foggy)

My second favorite game would be Origins. I know a lot of people hate it because of the battle system. I think that part of the game is kinda annoying. But it was fun I guess. The story , however, is what makes me love it so much. I can sort of relate to Travis, and so he is another one of my favorites.

I kind of hate how people always associate Silent Hill with pyramid head. He is cool and all, but the game has tons of other monsters and characters. It just annoys me that everyone is like , "I LOVE HIM HEHE!" Get over it please. I mean I can understand if you REALLY do love him , but I always hear people who never played the games say that they love Pyramid Head.

I also really like Shattered Memories, even though it is so different from the other games. I've only played through it twice. I need to play it again soon !

Yeah, Yamaoka is a genius. I love listening to the soundtracks. It gives me such a weird feeling, and i love it!

I'm gonna be positive about Licht too. I read some interviews. I really hope that he sticks to a similar style...and I hope that he takes this VERY seriously. I don't think he's done any video game soundtracks before. So I hope he doesn't think that it's not a big deal or whatever. I'm just being crazy I guess, haha.

I thought I read somewhere that Yamaoka would consider composing for the series but as a freelance (o-or maybe I'm just imagining things again). :c

I wish I was spineful enough to play it by myself but you know me, I get creeped out by survival horror games. The only ones that can play it for me are you and Janina. I don't get to see you a lot, and hell, I haven't spoken to Janina since before her birthday.

This sucks. We were having so much fun playing SH2 too and I was trying to teach her it and stuff xD I think we played Easy mode...and she like, made PHizzy go byebye in the apartment unit in one hit.

Though I was pretty sure that she may not be, I read somewhere that Mary Elizabeth McGlynn also wouldn't be a part of Silent Hill 8. Just seein' the words made me kinda sad. ;~;

I love the older SH games, but I haven't been too impressed with the new fare. The last one I played all the way thru was 0rigins, and I was bored to tears. It reminded me too much of SH2 which I KNOW is most oldschoolers; fave, but is my least fave (altho like everyone I love me some PH).
Homecoming looked more fun, but I don't have a machine that'll play it. Likewise Shattered Memories looks good, but the liberties they took reworking the old story annoyed me almost as much as that awful movie.

1, 3 and 4:The Room; now those are what made me love Silent Hill.

My favorite has to be Silent Hill 2, but I do love them all, except for Silent Hill 4 : The Room, that one kind of stunk, I am super excited about the new Silent Hill game coming out called Downpour I believe. : )
There is always one part in Silent Hill 2 that scares me no matter how many times I play it, I don't remember where it is until it scares me LOL.

A few scenes -really- scared me first playthrough in the games I did play, but since I like being scared, I enjoy them now.

One of the few scenes I still have a bit of trouble with tho is escaping the haunted house in 3; because being touched by the red mist is instant death I'm still sort of on the edge of my seat as I maneuver Heather through.

Silent hill homecoming is my favorite closely followed by number 2. But i think the first one is the jumpiest, like the scene with the locker a cat jumps out... oh okay i guess thats fine, come back in nightmare world hear banging from the same locker, oh i see hmm this isnt going to make me jump... Oh its nothing what an anti climax, walk away from it Loud noist and body falls out AHHHHHHHH!!!!!! My friend had already completed the first one and knew what was going to happen and just started giggling her little arse off. Or in the third one they have the phone call in the locker and then the guy sings happybirthday to "who are you". And also in the second my friend once again had already knew where the 'jumpy' bits were and was dissapointed when i never jumped at them however throughout playing the second one i did find muself jumping at random monsters that just appeard from nowhere, or i would turn around and there would be one stood right in front of me.
