Carbohydrate: major source of energy, contains elements C, H, and O, 4kcal per gram, simple sugars are their building blocks, can come in monosaccarides, disaccarides, and more.

Lipid: fats and oils, contains C, H, and O. 9kcal per gram, insoluble in water, triglyceride, three chains

Protein: contains elements C, O, and H, source of energy, substrates for tissue growth and maintenance, enzyme molecules, amino acids are their building blocks, 4kcal per gram

A carb is a major calorie source that comes mainly from sugars. A lipid is a fatty substance/molecule. Proteins are molecules required for structure, function, and regulation of the body's cells, tissues, and organs.

No clue about the burning thing...O___o;

I JUST LEARNED THIS!
*hits head*
Why...can't I remember?

Carbohydrates - Major source of energy for the body. Made up of mostly Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen. They give off an average of 4 calories per gram.

Protein - Made of Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Nitrogen. They are starter materials for tissue growth and certain biological functions. They supply an average of 4 calories per gram.

Lipids - Fats and oils. Mostly made up of Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen. They have fewer oxygens than Carbohydrates, however. They average 9 calories per gram.

Carbohydrates are made up of monosaccharide units (ie glucose, galactose & fructose). They are important in the transport of energy, storage and maintaining structural components in both plants and animals. They have the basic (CH2O)n molecular structure. They contain 3.75 kcal per gram.

Lipids are important for storage and are made up of various fatty acids. Lipids contain 9 kcal per gram.

Proteins are composed of amino acids and are important in DNA synthesis, enzyme activity and are structural components in cell membranes. Proteins contain 4 kcal per gram.

oops i pressed submit by accident *A* ;;
/adds~

Lipids are insoluble in water but in nonpolar solvents they are soluble
gives twice as much energy compared to carbs and are important for cell membranes
the bond is COO (one double bond and a single bond)

protien is important for:
enzymes and hormones as an example
also its our muscle and used as antibodies O:
They have amide link ( CONH )

carbs have an Oxygen atom connecting two monosaccharide together~ (it usually has 5 or 6 carbon in a ring and has OH group at each carbon)

that is all from me DX
