The item doesnt change in any way if you equip as female and change your gender. Only thing that changes is that your upper body is like male. XD

How it works is that you equip a female only item when your avatar is female, and then change the gender to male. Nothin' to it, and it works vise-verse too.

Well, for example, you buy purple laced panties. To put them on, you have to change your gender to female, equip them and then change your gender back to male and voila - you will have male avatar wearing purple laced (m)anties.
