According to my mom, I rarely touched anything sweet as a kid. It was only after I went to school and saw how the teachers rewarded the other kids with sweets that I started eating candy because it was 'good'. I personally don't remember if that was how it happened. XD

I used to find the smell disgusting as well, but somewhere along the way I suddenly found it smelling really good instead. I have no idea what happened. O_o;

Sort of depends on the person, and as the story goes above, it can also change with age. Sometimes a particular food, take muktuk for example, is an acquired taste. If you didn't grow up on it, you will probably never like it.
Muktuk is whale blubber.

I hate fat thanks to my mom making me paranoid about eating it.

Well, I was away from Taiwan for around three years, so the change in my perception of smell must have happened some time during it.

I have a friend who's similar, though I think her avoidance of fat happened because of a bad breakup. Her step mother is also one of those marathon fanatics, so nothing can have fat. I think some of the stranger eating habits were witnessed when I worked in an office.

What sorts of strange eating habits have you witnessed? o _o
I used to be super uptight about eating fat...I'd scrape off all the fat I could find on a piece of meat. I got better over the years now that I know that small amounts of fat is good for the body and one shouldn't avoid eating them completely...but I still avoid the ones that have obvious chunk of them in them. @@

It makes it sound like you don't cook very often with such a phobia of fats.
And the women in offices were peculiar. Each lunch hour was almost like a contest for who could eat the least and claim they were full for the younger girls. Older women complained fairly heavily about their diets, but any kind of dessert or bread didn't last half an hour; like piranhas around a leg. I saw a lot of weird spice combinations, but most of the eating habits were anal like things couldn't touch each other, sweets had to follow AFTER a vegetable, etc.
One of the ones that stuck with me was the inability to eat meat off of a bone. Two of them had a phobia that the bone would splinter into their throat and kill them.

It was enlightening to hear and see what other people ate most often. An experience that I hadn't had much insight with, so it was interesting. I met someone who would go on a diet to lose weight, but only ate jalapeno poppers (fried peppers stuffed with cheese) and couldn't understand why she was gaining weight. The bones on meat, though, that really took the cake.

That's not what I actually eat on a regular basis. I mostly buy bentos and takeouts and stuff.

Ah, how fun! I used to make bentos when I worked, but these days it's just something over rice. I've been making my own kimchi so that I can have some of that delicious stew later on, but I keep eating it all for breakfast. T___T
I think I like to have pho, or noodle soups, most often. Doesn't matter what the weather, I just can't seem to say no.

I like rice most days, and sometimes I have noodles. P:
I don't ever make my own bentos. Takes too much time and I'm lazy. xD

I generally don't like food with different flavors touching. :<
and I prefer boneless and shell-less. Lazy and felt tedious and messy to remove them.

Bentos are really easy! I would just toss in all my leftovers in a box with rice and then grab it in the morning out of the refrigerator. If I wanted egg, I would use a little extra from an omelette in the morning so that it was super fresh. If I happen across some photos of the bentos that I took, I could show. The one I saw last was when I was on a bao (steamed bun) binge and it was practically all I ate for a month. Man, those things were good.
Aw, boneless and shell-less? I guess you're right about the food being a bit faster and less of a hassle. Tonight for dinner I fried up shrimp heads, so I seem to find a way around the hassle, huaha ha hah.
