I'm not quite sure what mono is to be frank, though I had heard that's what she has ...

It's a highly contagious viral infection that causes fever, soar throat, and swollen lymph glands. It can also cause the slpeen and liver to swell, so no sports after you get it. It really only causes such a fuss in teens and early adults, if you get it as a kid, you just get flu-like symptoms. Thing is, once you get it, you have the virus forever, but not the symptoms. So you can be contagious again without knowing it.

She is. Though she's sleeping right now, and has a doctor appointment tomorrow at three.

We'll know within two months. It incubates for that long. But we know the early symptoms, so we're watching out for it. Here's to hoping we both got it as kids!

I've never had that. I hope I never get it, either. I'm only 16, so I wouldn't know. It could hit me at any time or I might not get hit by it at all. ._. By the looks of it, it is really bad to have.
I rarely get sick... But when I do, it hits me two or three times as hard. So it sucks for me when I get sick. o;

When I get sick, I throw up and then I'm done with it. Except for colds but that doesn't bother anyone too much. lol

Last time I was sick.... I was sick with a stomach virus. eAe Second time having it... It was worse than the first. I woke up at midnight and ran to the bathroom to throw up. I stayed in there till my grandma woke up at 6 am. I just pulled the towels down and curled up in pain on them. I tried to fall asleep or take a few naps, but I couldn't manage to do that. D;
It was also the cause for me losing my perfect attendance record at school. DX I was aiming for perfect attendance this year, but I just had to get sick on a thursday! I missed three days of school(thursday, friday, and monday). I was too weak to go on monday, but I managed on tuesday. ._. Still... I'm sad that I lost my perfect attendance. :< I'll just have to try next year.....

Aww that's no fun! But hey, at least you had a good reason to miss school.

Of course! Throwing up and choking on your own vomit while gasping for breath is a good reason. :< Worst two days of my life, especially the last time I had my head over a bucket. >-<;;

Panda, hope you got it as a little kid, then it either acts like a flu or you get no symptoms at all. I'm certainly hoping I got it back then, because if not, I almost certainly do now... We'll know within two months.

You can't with the mono spot test. It only shows up on the test if you've been having the symptoms for more than one week but less than three. Though the packet the ER docs gave us said there were other tests they could do...
