It is a Doctor Who reference. The TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) is his time machine. :) It's shaped like a police box.

And I think that is, but honestly, dropping it on me... is not a way to get me to want to talk to him. That was just plain rude.
It makes me want to block him, not get into a conversation with him.

Well, because I don't know Doctor Who, and I know you are a great fan of him... I would be so happy for you if there are more Doctor Who fans around. Hopefully he get the message and understand your point of view.

Oh, I love Who fans, but not when they're overly rude about how they go about striking up convos and are just not nice. *shrugs* I don't mind talking about Who. It tends to slip out randomly when I least expect it. *laughs* :P
