Why do you say that you miss your kids?
June, I'm retired, so I no longer get 3 day weekends!
`laughs` I never get a vacation either.

My only children are a pair of dogs and a cat. ^_^;
@Granny
I think retirement more than makes up for that. ;)

I certainly am enjoying retirement so far.
I had thought I would get bored. I think finding Menewsha has helped a great deal!

I do like playing computer games, but I don't think I cared for World of Warcraft. One of my nephews gave it to me for Christmas one year.
I don't care for games where I have to type or mouse quickly. My fingers aren't very nimble anymore.

Ah, fair enough. I also like those Mist games. They were fun what with all the exploring and puzzle solving. ^_^

I spend quite a bit of time on Menewsha. I also do some knitting and crocheting. I love to read and work puzzles.
We also RV quite a bit. Last summer we were gone for over 4 months. When we RV, then we do a lot of site-seeing during the days.

Fun. My husband and I always try to go on one big vacation per year, so traveling is definitely something we'll be doing a lot of after we retire. :yes:
What kind of books do you read?

Being old fashioned is a good thing. -nods- I was raised by my
great grandmother just as much as my own parents. My fiance and I
want to travel when we get older as well.

Annex, what is Guild Wars like? Please tell me more, dear.
June, I happen to love science fiction and fantasy. I don't know why, I guess it's what I grew up with. But I also love Jane Austen. If I had to give a single favorite author, it would be her. I also love the period stories around Henry VIII timeframe.
Xandriana, dear - that's very nice! (Is there a nick name we can use for you, dear? I have so much trouble typing your name)

We have kind of the same taste in books, Granny. Have you read any George R.R. Martin books, specifically his "Song of Fire and Ice" series?

Guild Wars is a MMOrpg that is free to play after buying it. You are not
in first person mode unless you want to be either. I am kind of a nub there still though but I like it. I can click on a monster to attack and it stays locked on the enemy and will use the basic weapon that is equipped to attack with or you can click on the special attacks to make the attack more than it was before. Here is the link to the official website for you to look over Granny. http://www.guildwars.com/default.php

I haven't heard of him, June. Is he fantasy? I tend towards the dragon books - Anne McCaffery. Also, Mercedes Lackey is a very favorite author with her Valdemar series.

GrannyJ I've read all the Pern books as well as most of the Valdemar seires.
You should look up David Webber he dosn't write dragon books but he has some well writen books. My stepmother would make me walk with a book on my head to improve my carrage.

Martin is an amazing author. This book series has giant wolves, magic, dragons, politics, scandal, battles, etc etc. What I like best about them is how he develops the characters. Each chapter is from a different character's point of view, so it's very difficult to decide who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. And Martin isn't afraid to kill any of them without a moment's notice. It's my favorite book series. ^_^ The magic and dragons have subtle but important rolls in the books, so everything feels very real when you're reading it. HBO is actually in the works to make a series based on the books. I'm soooo hoping they commit to it - it'll be awesome!!

The short series that Andre Norton and Mercedes Lackey wrote together was so good. I just want the last Valdemar book that came out. ^_^ I am so close in finishing the current series.
