Hmm... Death Cab For Cutie have some pretty sad songs like "Tiny Vessels" "Someday You Will Be Loved" and "What Sarah Said". As much as I love these songs they don't make very good ring tones. I had "What Sarah Said" for a ringtone for a short time but the part that would play when my phone rang would be "Love is watching someone die... So who's gonna watch you die?" Most depressing ringtone EVER. ;_;

There are a fair few sad songs I like, but I guess the top few would be:

Goodbye's the Saddest Word by Celine Dion, but if you heard this version sung by this asian women, god it was so beautiful, it made me cry, it reminded me so much of my aunt who passed

Another is I don't want to miss a thing by aerosmith, it reminds me of my grandma who also passed x]

I don't really have a favorite sad song but if I had to choose, it would one of these three: Understanding by Evanescence, Breathe No More by Evanescence, or the Swan Song by Within Temptation.

No. New sad song is "Do You Know?" by Someday. I actually cried because of this song

That's not the only one though. But I sobbed when I heard him sing it. He has such a beautiful voice.

Angels and memoreis by within temptation are sad.
Room of angels, is a lot sadder im not sure who sings it at all...
And pretty much every song evanescence has every sang...i just think there all sad to a diffrent degree.

Also Sailor moons death of a rose...no words but you can tell it still sad.

"Without You" by X Japan. There's no contest, every time I hear it I have to stop what I'm doing and sit down, because it's so powerful. Runner ups would be "Tears" by the same band and "White Trash Beautiful" by Everlast.

"I Would Be Sad" by The Avett Brothers would be my favorite sad song. Runners up would probably also be Avett Brothers' songs, or perhaps some Sage Francis ones like "Runaways"
