I got 27k posts on Gaia, I quit it after a year or so and instead joined Mene. I recently logged back on though and played around with an avatar and then sighed at browsing the exchange/mp.
So many items :<

I want to read the True Blood series as well, but I don't have money to buy it yet xD I'll probably buy the box set to get them cheaper (are box sets cheaper than buying them individually?) and for easy storage with my other books xD

The Vampire Diaries books are not like the show at all. I mean, they have some similarities, but other than the title and some minor character plots, its completely different. Damon and Stefan still hate each other over having to share Katherine, and Stefan and Damon both like Elena who looks like Katherine. Bonnie is still psychic/ a witch. Alaric is still a vampire hunter. That's pretty much as far as the similarities end xD

Hime, I did the same. I signed back in out of boredom with Mene/curiosity and uh.. kind of gave up instantly because of how many new items there were. Crazy.

*butts into the discussion*

I have far fewer posts on my main Gaia account than I do here, and I was an active Gaia member since 2003 (although my activity has very significantly declined since I joined Mene in 2007). I have 13,864 posts there and 16,473 posts here. I'm a lurker by nature, so that says a lot to me. XD

My Gaia account still has me beat for items, but only by about 500 at this point. And I could argue that I technically have much more here since we can wear multiple poses of the same item without paying an arm and a leg to buy another one.

Winter, I'm a little worried to read The Sookie Stackhouse Chronicles just because I don't want my vision of True Blood shattered : (

Ferra, when I was younger I could chat about anything to anyone at any time. I still can I suppose, but I'm more restrained and I've turned into more of a lurker as well.

I have Gaia topped on my account here for items thousands of times over. I have probably 10-15 items on Gaia for clothing xD Just whatever I have on my avatar is what I have and a few little things.

xD I have yet to surpass my gaia account as far as my value and amount of items prior to quitting and giving stuff away/buying art.
And I do not think I have surpassed post count yet either. o.o;;

And from what I hear, seiki, true blood is just vampire porn...which is why i dont watch it and am wary of buying the series.

Apparently I have over 2,000 over there, but nothing that's worth anything anymore. Ever since they churned out RIG after RIG, the prices of old MCs have stagnated. So more or less my "old wealth" is no longer wealthy.

xD lol so I have heard and somewhat have glimpsed. I told my sister is was just stupid over there.
But my old wealth on current value there would have still been pretty high.

I only keep track of a couple threads on Gaia, that's all.
Though, the same could be said for here, don't keep track of much more than a few threads and the events that take place.

Winter, aren't all of the HBO shows softcore porn anyways? XD

I don't know. Its an amusing show. Sometimes it can get really funny because of how ridiculous it is. And I've been an Anna Paquin fan for years so I usually watch most of her stuff.

Gaia wealth discussion - If you count what few items I do have, I'm worth quite a few million there, but prices aren't really as relevant as they used to be. A million gold there is as easily obtainable as 1000g is here. I used to remember the vending contests that some guilds used to/still hold. It used to be a bunch of accounts that people were given x amount of gold and could only use the exchange/vend to make gold and whoever made the most won and got to keep all the profit plus x percent of the other accounts winnings and the rest was divied up. I used to want to try one of those, but the most I'd ever been able to make in a day there was like 600k. And that was starting with a large amount, and these contests usually started with 10k only.

@Seiki: ..xD; that movie was so cool<3 Not where I got my name from, but cool~ ...I wish I had it.

Do any of you know if Menewsha has newsboy caps? I was playing around with the avatar creator and the only one I saw was brown, which totally clashes with my color scheme.

I believe there's also a white and a gold. They're called the Pageboy hats though I think. You can look through Headworks and see if you can't find a hat that will work for you

Seiki, I am not that big of a fan of any kind of porn and try to avoid it. xD

1 mil when I was there in 2007 wasn't that difficult to earn. At least when I wasn't too lazy to think about. in the last 6 months I was there I did not really care all that much. xD
And I was part of one of those contests. so many people just dropped out or left. xD And it was fun and challenging. I do not think it was held by a guild though...I don't remember. xD
I think the most I made in a day was 5 or 6 mil. xD
And the best days to vend and exchange were when new items came out. It was a Exchanger/vendors dream. xD
And 10k in the vend could multiply easily. xD

And to people who don't know, yes I was a long time exchanger and vendor on gaia until I pretty much disappeared in 2007. The few times I did return I have had people still remember me in the exchange and the guild, but i have found out many have left. xD

I've read the first book and enjoyed the hell out of it. :x My sister in law is obsessed with vampire books thanks to a workmate making her read Twilight. I've got the second True Blood/Sookie book sitting here, waiting for me to read, but I have to be in the mood for it. Haven't watched the show, so I don't know how it compares. I just liked it because it was an interesting/different take on things.

As for box sets being cheaper than individuals... Usually they're cheaper, but sometimes they're around the same price. :x Depends on how they're bound together, I think.

@Seiki: Oh, thanks.. I hadn't even noticed those. And they're called Baker Boy hats in the shop.

@Gaia: I've never had anywhere near 1mil there, lol. I joined for the role-playing so that's all I really do there. I've never even heard of such a contest... sounds difficult to me.

Winter, 10k was definitely easy to turn into a much larger sum. I just never liked working with small items. And my internet was never really fast enough to try those contests out. I could have done better than 600k, but I think my internet was like, just barely past dial-up at the time I made that xD

CK, I really would like to read them. I think the box set is like 56 dollars at Barnes and Noble, but I haven't checked in a long time. I'll get it eventually.

Twilight. Love-hate. Its so easy to read, but its so bad >>

I agree with Seiki about Twilight. It's a really enthralling book and all, but I'm filled with regret after reading it. xD

I read through the series once. It really wasn't as bad as some people make it out to be.. but on the same level it's nowhere near as great as others say it is.
It wasn't until the last book and the movies that I got fed up with them entirely. Now I shudder whenever I see glitter because all I can see is Rob Pattinson's face. >.>;
