I would still watch Doctor Who if he was an OBGYN....or Chiropractor. Though, he'd not be much of a who but a What. Doctor What! Every episode he has a different specialization.

Like, I love that episode of Doctor What, when the Brain Surgeon has to deal with the nazi invasion in Poland.

Doctor What! For some reason that makes me think of Quantum Leap, where the guy would be zapped into random people's bodies each episode and have to solve some pressing problem.
