Areyse watched the girl intently as she threatened them then told them to leave. She was indeed a bold one to think she could take on three expert assassins and walk away from the encounter, but he was slightly relieved when she backed off. Their mission had been completed though the number of fatalities involved was outrageous and as the new guildmaster wished there were no witnesses left. The drow looked over to Atticus and said, "The mission is done... lets go back and report in so that we can rest." He then looked over to Dae who still seemed to be tense, "Relax there are no threats left here. We should head back soon." His voice was calm and almost cold but he did not intend to come off that way to his guildmen. The elven killer took one more glance around at this chaos and closed his eyes. He would remember this scene for the rest of his life.

Daeman looked at him and started to relax. She hated the scene they had created but it was necessary. The mission was over. She looked between her comrades. Three assassins against all others. They were professionals. and they didnt stand a chance. She turned to Aresye. "Yeah lets get out of here. We need to report in."

(ARG. Internet problems and finals week hit me for a double whammy. I'm really, really sorry I didn't say anything, guys! But saying something was kind of not an available option! : ( )

Darius had consumed himself in sucking down his meal as quickly as he possibly could and was midway though downing his soup when the nobleman came face down into their table. The impact surprised him, causing him to find his feet as so many around Lord Marcus found the floor with their glazing eyes. "Veata..."

Up appeared the drow and three flashes flew passed Darius, sailing into the napes of three separate men's necks. The room was filling with the scent of blood and the sound of these anonymous men's last gasping breaths. By now the red haired girl had more or less disappeared from the carnage and Darius was happy for it. Despite her grizzly behavior, so unsuitable for someone her age, he couldn't help himself but to see a youth under the chaos. Then out in the midst there was Atticus' voice saying his name. This was his friend's doing?! This massacre?! These were innocent people- maybe not the best of people, but they didn't deserve to be mowed down in an orgy of death. In came guardsmen, men that Darius knew, but in all of the din his words had been drowned away... And like an ocean of malice the assassins washed them away in their flashing tide of biting iron.

..."We don't answer to you"...

As the battle fury died down and rage stirred in Veata and Darius. The man's eyes were locked onto Atticus. This wasn't a nightmare and the scalding feelings within him did not exist only in dreams. Everyone was hesitating in the backwash moments of their bloodlust until finally it was suggested that they make their report.

Emotions other than wrath flooded forth from Darius now, the most of which was pity. From earlier he saw his friend's state and finally could conceive what sort of hell he lived. "I see... you made it, friend. Perhaps we should find ourselves another tavern before we have a drink together." It was strained. Half of him wanted to strangle the half-elf with his bare hands, but the human knew better.

((Pssh. Forgiven. :P))

Atticus stayed silent, his gray eyes locked on Darius.
After many seconds, he finally flipped his hood up, and without saying anything, headed back to the guild. The half-elf took the long way - it was starting to rain, and Atticus enjoyed the cold feeling. He slowed his step when he got out to the street, letting the cold pattering cleanse him of newly shed blood. Without checking to see if his companions followed, Atticus walked through the streets slowly.

Despite his facade that everyone saw - Areyse, Darius, Dae, even Cain - none of them saw the side of Atticus that still survived, still strove to survive. The assassin felt sick, his pale eyes closing as the rain struck him. The night was dark, cold . . . he didn't care. There were lines in life that Atticus didn't intend on crossing, yet here he was leaping over them.
Grimacing at the thought of how many men he'd killed, the half-elf walked through the soaking streets with eyes full of pain. Just the thought of what he had done, what he had helped initiate, sickened him dramatically. He almost fell to his knees right there and lost whatever meal he'd eaten last. Instead, with his long dark hair dripping around his face, Atticus knelt down in the closest alleyway and rested his head on his knees.

Daeman looked at the man who had just spoke confused. She just realized that Atticus had been fighting around this guy making sure no one got to him. She saw the pain on his face as well as pity.

She heard him speak. "I see... you made it, friend. Perhaps we should find ourselves another tavern before we have a drink together."

She had recognized the voice but not the man completely till she took a closer look at him. It was Darius. An old friend of Atticus she had met once or twice. She didnt really recognize him now but she saw what he wanted to do but held back. He was being nice to him after this blood lusted battle where three went against many and thos many perished. They perished whether innocent or not. She saw the battle in his eyes and that he was a little disgusted by it. She wondered if Atticus would take up the offer of a drink in a different tavern. If they didnt report in soon though Cain would get angrier. If there was success why not leave it at that. There was too much on her mind as she tried to clear her head.

Darius closed his eyes after the figure of Atticus was obscured in the inky darkness outside. "I'll take that as a rain check, not that rain usually stops you..." Another moment of silence settled in over the group as they stood among the growing crimson pools.

He gave Daeman a nod to acknowledge her, then one for the drow. He could only assume that they were both locked in the same fate has Atticus by their solemn faces. Why didn't they all fight it more? Why didn't they leave?

"Veata. We can go to Cain with them to verify their report. They are our guild mates and we must stand with them." Behind his words he was trying to impress his commitment to her search. He couldn't stand a man who was hurting so many of his friends and who could condone the severing of so many life-strings. "I'm fairly certain Atticus, himself, might not be able to make it back in a proper amount of time. He looked as if his mind was elsewhere... and besides we have other business with Cain, do we not?"

Finally Darius looked back at Rae. He didn't want her to come for matters of her safety, but knew that should she follow it would be by her wishes. She had made a point to show she was big enough to take people's lives, therefore she should be old enough to take responsibility for her own demise... should it come to that.

Areyse left after his companion silently strode off and made no attempt to follow him he had no time to coddle a grown man and he himself had some soul searching to do as he didn't know what he was living for. The dark elf walked in the pouring rain feeling as though it was cleansing his soul of his transgressions but he knew that wasn't the case. He had just taken part in one of the bloodiest mission to date and all because of some woman and a tiny miscalculation. This night had taken a sharp turn for the worse and it was over for the time being but he did not get out of this night unscathed.

Though the elf was not physically scarred at all tonight, as he rarely ever was, his emotional mindset was in shambles now and he couldn't understand what had happened for him to get here. This night had tore down a lifetime long barrier to guard from an emotional breakdown yet in one night a whole lifetime's worth of mental barriers had been broken. This was devastating. Areyse walked around as if he was a living corpse trying to get it together in his mind and figure out what exactly he wanted out of this life.

It was true that he did not despise the job he had because at one point they were doing good work, only killing people who deserved to die. It was also true that the elven killer took pride in his killing abilities and killing people but not innocents. He was not some mindless murderer... he was suppose to be an assassin though he only felt like a carcass at the moment.

Then as if he had just had an epiphany Areyse dropped his hood and looked into the sky allowing his long silver hair to drop to its full length just past his shoulders and the rain to pour onto his bloodstained face. He looked at the full moon in the sky and made a solemn vow to himself. He would kill Cain and leave this guild and make his own living as a rogue assassin. After all it was the life he had always lived and it was all he knew so why stop doing what you know and you're good at?

With his vow being cited in his mind, heart, and soul he took out one of his daggers and tattooed a crescent moon on both of his hands to ensure he never again forgot his purpose for his life. He then tossed up his hood and began to walk back to the guild accepting the cold tears of the night upon his wet slender frame.

Daeman followed her friend out of the building. She had been scarred by the innocent blood spilled. She was use to killing but not a massacre. She walked into the rain hoping it would help heal her. "Ill see you guys back at the guild"

She climbed the buildings. It was a smooth climb as usual but it was filled with too much emotion making it harder than usual. She sat on a roof top of a house letting her cloak sit open as she looked at the full moon. She had never felt like this before. She hadnt cried in ages and now felt like letting the tears flow. She was an assassine. Born as a royal brat and brought up as an assassin... why was it that she felt what she felt. Was it because she was female? Was it because there had been people just wanting to have a good time killed in the fight meant for one and his guards? She wanted to help her old comrade so bad that it turned into a nightmare that she would remember for years to come.

Her eyes turned to pure hatred as she realized who she had been doing everything for. The name of the man who made these things happen. Even though she thought she fought for another it always came back to one man. Cain. The name was poison that rang through her ears. She wasnt strong enough to beat him but she would find some way of beating this Tyrant out of his absolute domain. She wanted to rip his cold beating stone heart out of his chest if he even had one. He was the reason for anything that ever happened. The reason why people were afraid at night. They didnt know when his minions, the deadly force he trained specifically for this, would strike. Now it was her turn to use what he gave her and throw it right back in his face. No more beatings for no reasons.

She got up and started to head towards the guild, the scene still fresh in her mind. If he had them beaten it then so be it. She would just build her rage and fight back against him. She didnt care anymore what happened. She wanted him to suffer and she would do the best she could to make it happen.

The black haired djinn took a deep breath.

"Yeah." was her only reply, more to the fact that they had a secret mission than to the suggestion of standing by those three. Although she swore to uphold the old code, standing by them after what they did seemed easier thought than done. She picked up the cover for her spear which had fallen by a puddle of blood. It was now partially stained red but she would wash it out later on. She looked at the dead Lord Marcus, the man with the plan, before he died, that is. Now she had to think of some other way of getting her heartstone back.

Following his plan wasn't an option. The spearwoman could not afford to hire as much men as the noble did and she was sure she wouldn't get paid as much as she used to. Veata's black and yellow eyes scanned the bloody pub. They fell on the blond man then searched for the fiery girl. "My apologies, it seems you won't have something to keep you entertained now."

On her way towards the door she grabbed an open bottle of ale from a bloody table and began to consume it. "Whoo!", she exclaimed, trying her best to put on a more positive expression, "One for the road..."
The spearwoman tossed the half empty bottle for Darius to catch should he wish for a drink. She put her white hat back on and waited by the door, pulling its rim a little lower over her eyes.

Darius caught it easily and took a long, deep swig of the stuff before leaving the open container behind him on the edge of the bar. "We'll need it."

Darius followed the spearwoman outside and sloshed toward the guild through the woods. Their progress was slowed by the soggy earth under foot and the upwelling of dreary temperaments. Every once and a while there was an outburst to smother those feelings... "At least the plants smell alive. It's a good smell, I missed it up north." ... "I think we're going to have to make a boat here if the rain gets any harder." - the comments made little effect which was instantly crushed by the bleary form of the guild walls forming on the other side of the wet, hanging haze.

It was the shortest path to the guild, one Darius had traveled back and forth several times in his membership, though to him the expanse appeared ominous. He hesitated at the tree line.

"Don't tell me you're scared Darius?" Veata smiled, although she too was slightly reluctant to enter. "What happened to rescuing me? Aren't you going to charge juggernautically in head first and slay the horrid ogre, brave knight?"

She could see her breath escape her lips as she looked up at the dark guild. It was cold outside and the guild looked even colder. Lights were seen through the windows although not many windows were lit. It wasn't like this before they left. Even late into the evening the guild would be aglow with warriors' candles. Most of them would be up all night, celebrating any victories they had or telling stories of their missions.
But after Cain lorded it over them, the candles began going out one by one, their owners either dead or out on a mission. If they weren't either then they would most likely be lying in their rooms, tired and beaten from the work or from the guild master. The only lights on now were from the main hall and entryway, where the supporters of Cain stayed up to guard the guild and to talk about the most brutal assassinations they had accomplished.

The djinn walked through the heavy front doors. They seemed heavier than they were when she had just returned from her mission earlier that evening. Smoke filled the air, and the same smell of alcohol as from the tavern greeted her. She quietly walked past the sleazy guards, soon reaching the main hall. The spearwoman could feel the murderous eyes of the various assassins on her but ignored them. She looked around the guild, taking in the details more than when she first arrived. The walls had splotches of dark stains from blood. The woodwork was splintered and scarred and there were even a few injured members lying about here and there. One was being used as a footstool by a gruff looking man playing dice with his friends. Another was being pick-pocketed by a woman with a club.
Veata clenched her teeth at the sight but did nothing. She couldn't afford to cause a scene at the moment. Her life still rested in that tyrant's hands and she didn't know what his motives where for keeping it intact. She and Darius would have to play it smooth and ghost the stone away from Cain somehow. After that, she would beat all the rats out of the worn down guild.

Atticus, despite his delay, was able to reach Cain before any of the others. Unlike the rest of the guild, the half-elf didn't need to wait for an acknowledgement. It was the one good quality about being the currently favored pet. He slipped in to Cain's room, seeking the guild leader's attention.
"Lord Marcus is dead," he stated, his gray eyes cold. The assassin was dripping a steady stream onto the wooden floor, but Atticus ignored as much.
"So I hear," Cain said slowly, standing and clasping his hands behind his back. "Word, especially word as messy as this, travels quickly in the city." Stepping in a complete circle around his favored assassin, the guild leader's face remained passive. "You wiped out an entire dispatch of guards, you three."
Atticus kept his neutral gaze on the desk in front of him, not even flinching as Cain inspected him. "It was necessary."
"It is never necessary for a team of master assassins to make such a scene," the tall man said, his voice growing louder with each word. "And yet you and your group made the biggest mess I have ever heard of!"
The half-elf's jaw tightened, but he said nothing. It was a pointless thing to do.
"How do you plan on fixing this, Atticus?" Cain's voice was a cruel hiss, and he stepped back behind his desk to sit. "Tell me, how do you calm the city when over two dozen men never return home to their families?"
When Atticus didn't reply, the guild leader stood once more. "You have no answer for me?"
He waited not even two seconds before striking the assassin with such force, it knocked him to his knees. Clutching his stomach, Atticus snarled a reply. "What would you have me say? You are never pleased with my words, nor my actions." For that, he recieved a kick that knocked him onto his back. This man was stronger than any that Atticus had ever faced - unnaturally so. Before the half-elf could roll away, he was pinned by a thick blade through his shoulder. With a muted cry of pain, he let his eyes fill with rage. "May you find your death by your own blade."
Wrenching the dagger free, Cain hissed at the half-elf. "There's a reason I detest your words, Atticus." Jamming the weapon down again, the guild leader smiled. "Yet words from your mouth are as useless as a gentle breeze. Your strength is no match for mine, neither is your speed. You have attempted to kill me before, only to find yourself lying in darkness. What thoughts run through your head when this happens? What haven't you tried yet, Atticus?"
With the blade being twisted through him, Atticus made no reply. It was best that way. Perhaps the blood-thirsty ruler would back off - as he always did.
"I don't want to see this happening again," Cain said, his voice a grating whisper. "If I do, you will pray for your own death."

Daeman ran along the roofs of the building flipping off the roof landing on her feet in front of the guild. She walked through the doors. The others looked at her and she knew they had figured what they did. She wanted them to look away so she had her death stare on for any on looker to see. Was it necessary for them to drill it into her that they had messed up? She walked up to Veata. "Can i talk to you quickly?" She sounded sincere as she looked at the people looking at them. She knew the spear woman was mad at them but also thought about what she had said earllier. "I just want to talk." Her voice had been low. For if it hadnt the others would surely jump at the chance to listen in.

She walked towards an open hallway where there were few people. She wondered if the woman would follow. In spite she leaned against the wall waiting to see if the woman would follow. Her strength in the tavern had proven somewhat unnatural but her speed was a little slow. If she got one hit off it would be enought to kill a person. Daeman didnt want to get on her bad side more than she already was. She wanted to see if there was anything she could do to make it up to her. Daeman also wanted the djinn to teach her about the old ways that were so forgot in this castle of pain and treachery. She just wanted to make the pain go away and this was the only way she could think of doing it for she was not strong enough to do what she wanted.

She looked around at all the wretches around drinking, stealing, fighting and what ever else made them so happy. These werent men no matter what anyone said. They shouldnt be considered as men. They stole, fought and drank together like scum bags. Though she had to admit there were many that were different in many ways but the amount of them had been depleting and falling into the depths of the now crumby guild. Cain was the master of chaos but she knew he liked perfection as well. What would she do if he came down looking for the three of them if Atticus was not already with him? She shoook the thought from her head.

"Can I talk to you quickly? I just want to talk."

Veata was surprised at the woman's request. She hadn't expected that any one of the assassins she had tried to stop would want to talk to her, and so soon at that. She watched as the silver blond haired woman walked towards a less occupied hallway. The spear woman looked behind her to check on Darius before accepting the assassin's invitation. Her heeled gray greaves knocked loudly on the wooden floor as she made her way towards the woman. Veata could hear the sound of someone being knocked to the floor from somewhere in the guild but didn't pay it any mind. 'Probably another brawl' she thought, fights were not uncommon in the guild even before the change in leaders. Keeping her spear close to her, the djinn looked the woman in the eyes.
"What do you wish to say?" she asked, also keeping to a low key tone.

Daeman turned to the woman who had excepted her offer. "I was wondering if there was any way of making up for what i did. I didnt want to look weak in front of my comrades but my emotional state has been waving for a while. Can you teach the the old ways of the old guild master. I hate Cains rule and ill do anything to make it all the better. I can teach you speed if you wish." She looked into the girls eyes with sincerety and truthfulness. She wasnt lying about what she wanted. She couldnt turn back the pages of time to undo what was done but she could make up for it by being a "good" not "evil" assassin like Cain wanted. She just wanted to make her pain go away. No matter the treatment she would never be able to get the kills out of her head of those who witnessed any of her kills or were involved. It was the law in the guild. The men and woman in the guild now had no spec of honor for what they did anymore. It was a job and they would get paid for it. She leaned on the wall crossing her arms and putting one foot on it. As she waited for the answer she tried to remember how many people actually honored the dead that they had killed here in the guild the way it should have been done. The woman would be her way out of this. She would still be an assassin because that was just the way things went but she wanted to be release from the tight grip of Cain. "I believe that the old ways will make me feel less constricted. If you help me i will help with anything you need. I will be in your debt." The last part of what she had said was one of her morals. She would always abide by a debt or a promise no matter the cost.

Taking his time walking to the guild the drow walked down the halls of their "home" without a single stare from anyone. Areyse was well known for his temper and putting other assassins out of commission for a while even though he was punished by taking on all their missions on top of his own until they were healthy again. He was not the kind of person who liked to be looked down upon nor scorned in any way. The young prodigal type assassin took no pity from anyone and made sure that they all knew this. He was dripping puddles on the way to his room and he paused in his walk when he ran into Veata and Daeman, and with a stoic look in his eyes he glanced at them then walked down the hall and without waiting into Cain's office. He looked at Atticus on the floor reeling in pain yet somehow finding the will to not scream and then looked at Cain holding a blade in his hand and spoke these words, "The punishment for this man has been severe enough. You forget he was not alone during the massacre and he is not alone now. Whatever punishment you have for him I will except on his behalf, I'm sure you'll be more than willing to scar up a beautiful body like mine." His eyes held no hint of emotion within them not even sorrow which was the most prominent emotion in his heart right now. He was well trained and the best up and coming assassin in a long time. He had a flawless completion rating on his missions and never felt any remorse until now...

Daeman had quieted as Aresye had passed not wanting him to hear her weakness. He was never looked down apon by others so it was only natural that he look down apon everyone else. He was a protigy in manys eyes though in other they held hatred towards him. She couldnt look at him yet she couldnt look away. She had been gone for so long and only got to see Atticus and his own face for a few brief minutes before the bloody massacre. She finally looked away from the dark elf and back at the woman. Her eyes wandered all the time looking at the people in the halls. Dispicable inbread swine. They shouldnt even be in the guild if they cant control themselves this much. They fight eachother and get punished for it yet they still fight anyways. What was the point? They would never be great assassins like those that stayed in their rooms quietly or never even reacted to such idiocy. It made her heart reel at the sight. It wasnt like this years ago. She focused her attention back on the woman. Hoping, praying for a positive answer she closed her eyes unfolding her arms and putting them behind her.

[Although I said something about the code of honor earlier, I'm not really sure about the rest of it :) I'll try to come up with some good things to say but if anyone else wants to add something to it, please go right ahead :)]

Veata thought about the woman's request for a moment. She knew of the old guild code, that much is true, but she herself hadn't been the best follower of it. She wondered if she could teach it as well as how the previous guild master had. The guild mate before her was sincere in her request, and Veata could see that she really was sorry for what had happened. If she was like this, if more people in the guild felt the same way, then maybe there was a chance to rally them against Cain and return this guild to how it used to be. Soon, another of Atticus' companions arrived, passing by her and the blue-green eyed woman without a word.

"All right." she finally replied. "I'll see what I can do. For now, your first lesson is never kill those who are not assassination targets. I'm sure you've heard me say this back at the pub. There is never any need to take more lives than necessary."
A man and woman who walked by snickered as they heard what the djinn last said.
"This rule also reminds one that assassins are meant to be stealthy and prepared." Veata continued after the two had left the hall, "You should take measures to make sure you wouldn't be noticed before you go in for the kill, not after. If there are eyewitnesses, you must either flee, knock them all out, or ..." She would have said self-terminate, but she never believed in that policy. "Or have made a plan B beforehand. A little luck doesn't hurt either."

She looked back to all the times she had found herself in similar situations, surrounded by enemies with no hope of escape. Those were how most of her early guild missions usually ended up. She had been lucky that she had friends with her during some fights and smart partners in others. The only times that non-targets ever got killed were when she was partnered with Cain for assassinations. Once, she was in a three man team with him and only her other team mate stopped him after he killed a witness. The next time, Cain was her only partner and Veata could only watch as he skillfully wiped out an entire family.
The father, mother and eldest daughter were the targets for that mission. They were corrupt politicians and their assassination had been requested by people they had been oppressing. Veata was impressed with his abilities but Cain also killed the youngest daughter after finding out that she was being groomed to help with the family business. He reasoned that she would have also turned out like her family and it was best to nip weeds in the bud before they spread. They left the manor unseen and unheard. Because of how quietly he had dispatched them and how clean the crime scene was, the servants that filled the house merely thought they were asleep until the following morning. The djinn had agreed with Cain's reasoning back then, but after a while, she realized he was wrong. The guild master had taught her that many bad people could change for the better, that's why the guild did not often do assassinations. After that, Veata made sure to stop Cain from attacking non-targets anytime they were together, which often led to their fights at the guild.

"I believe the code following this would be never take the law into your own hands unless it is officially requested in a mission." This was one of the codes Veata herself had been tempted so many times not to abide by. "The city guards exist for a reason. Turning vigilante makes you equivalent to criminal since you're both ignoring the law."
The spearwoman leaned against the opposite wall. She was now more relaxed as she spoke of the old ways. "Personally though, I don't like this part of the code. If you don't kill anyone, I think it's ok." she said, a small smile on her face.

The Rider nodded Veata off when she turned to him and made his way toward the heart of the building where he found two guild members gambling over a game of old dice. It wasn't anything very complicated, though he was fairly certain they were both using weighted dice and so the game was droning on though constant tie breakers. They had sat themselves just before the antechamber to Cain's office and gave Darius a curious look when he swaggered up. "Cain. Is he inside there?"

His meaning didn't come off very well. The men stood up and eyed Darius once more, this time more carefully. "Why would Cain be inside there? What is your business with Cain?" They asked, guardedly.

Raising his hands to ward off questions and show he would explain, the man shook his head and continued "I was wondering if a drow or girl have come by recently... to report on something. I just want to add my verification should Cain want it."

The two gamblers looked between one another before dragging out their answer: No, neither a girl nor a drow had come to Cain's office recently- not within the last few minutes at least- and they both added that they were fairly sure Cain wouldn't need Darius' verification. "Why would Cain need verification from a low ranking guildsmen like you, anyways? He has people to watch for him. Many people."

"Right." Darius looked over at the door again "So I take it he's in but he doesn't want to be disturbed." There was a heavy sound from within, though Darius couldn't place it himself. It didn't sound natural to him, or rather, it didn't some good.

(I really don't mind if someone wants to also react as these 2 NPCs. I assume they're suppose to be guarding Cain's door. Also, Rae, because it's pretty low visibility tonight your character could probably easily climb up the side of the wall... assuming she has good timing to avoid any watchmen.

I think the code looks awesome, Rey! : D)

Daeman looked at the girl. Listening to the code she had given out she made mental notes in her head. She watched the two walking by and gave them a glance as they snickered. She gazed at the deathly as they walked by. They stopped snickering and walked away. She watched the girl as she had told about the second part of the code. Not really thinking about the second one she still listened in on others as well as Veata. Daeman didnt think that the second code was a good one either unless you killed on behalf of it.

"Alright. For now i will follow them as best i can. Did you need any help at all with anything? If so then just tell me and i will help." It was a promise that she was making. She always kept promises no matter what they were. "Anything you need ill be there."

((Lol. she meant me I think))

Rae watched them as they left the building one by one. Shaking her head at the mess, Rae started towards the door, then stopped at the fireplace. Looking back at the room, she saw that it was not worth keeping in one piece. No one would come here anymore after tonight. It was merely a grave now. Grabbing a couple bottles of alcohol lying around, Rae threw them into the fire. Stepping away from it, she watched the bottles explode, sending flaming liquid everywhere. Nodding her approval, Rae left the tavern, heading towards the guild.

She kept to alleys and shadows, knowing that if the guards saw her, she would be killed. The rain was to her advantage tonight. It helped hide any sounds she might make, and it acted as a shield against unwanted eyes as well. Reaching the end of the alley, she looked at the building that was the guild. She saw a couple open windows, mostly on the second floor. Peering down the side of the building, Rae saw the guards at the entrance. Taking a deep breath, she waited until they were occupied by someone and started for the side of the guild. Her goal was to reach that window above her before they noticed.

Leaping, Rae grabbed the first floor window's ledge, and pulled herself up. Looking inside quick, she snorted when she saw the occupant had their back to her. Shaking her head, she grabbed the top of the window, pulling herself onto the it. With a quick look towards the guards to make sure they were still occupied, Rae jumped. Her small fingers found the next window's ledge, and she hung on. Dangling there for a couple seconds, Rae took another deep breath, then pulled herself up to that window. This time she checked the room before she fully climbed onto the ledge. Seeing the guy was asleep, she hauled herself into the room as silently as she could. Pulling a dagger from her boot, she stalked over, and knelt beside the guy. With a smirk, she covered his mouth and slit his throat in one motion. After the guy died, Rae wiped her hands on his shirt. He wouldn't need it now anyways.

Standing, Rae looked around the room. Nothing of interest being seen, she made her way to the door of the room. Gently easing it open, she looked down the hall. No one. Nodding her approval, she figured this guy probably kept his guards downstairs in the main rooms. As quietly as she can, she headed towards what she hoped would be a staircase to the first floor. Success. With a glance behind her and another down the stairs, Rae made her way down them, trying not to make any sounds. She stepped into a pool of darkness at the bottom, surveying the area.

Two, three guards. All watching something. With a sigh, Rae figured that room they were peering into was probably where that Cain guy was. Well, this was going to get interesting. That was for sure. Sighing, Rae found a spot nearby that was also covered in darkness, and waited.

((*whew* I leave for a day, and look what happens! LOL, over 10 different posts! ^_^'))

Areyse was hardly able to blink when a breath-taking blow smashed into the side of his head, knocking the assassin to the ground. "Watch how you speak, Areyse." Cain was standing over the man, and brought his dagger around to point it at the cloaked killer. "You will recieve your share of punishment," the guild leader hissed, "Don't be so quick to come find it."
Standing tall, the leader stepped over to the desk he had previously been seated behind. "The two of you will report back to me in two hours' time. Failure to comply will result in termination." Cain smiled slightly, sitting down in his chair. "Leave me."

Atticus clenched his teeth, pulling himself up to glare at the guild leader. The half-elf turned his gray eyes to face Areyse, and he calmed down a bit. It was true, strangely . . . he wasn't alone. The words of the assassin nearly made Atticus flinch, but he headed for the door with his fists clenched.
Once he was in the hallway, the assassin hissed a few curses under his breath and pressed against his fresh wound. Why was this always happening to him?
Atticus stepped past Dae and Veata, glancing at them as he passed.
